Abstract

The Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system is a crucial component in improving the quality of healthcare services through fast, accurate, and integrated patient data recording. The Outpatient Clinic of Rumkit Tk. IV 01.07.02 Binjai has fully implemented the EMR system; however, its implementation still faces several challenges, including limited computer devices, network disruptions, unstable electricity, and variations in users’ ability to operate the system, which may affect the effectiveness of patient data management. This study aims to analyze the effect of EMR implementation on patient data management, including time efficiency, data accuracy, cost savings, and healthcare workers’ satisfaction. This research employed a quantitative approach with a descriptive-analytic design, involving a sample of 38 healthcare workers representing the total population of EMR users. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability, supported by observation. Data analysis was conducted using univariate analysis, bivariate analysis with the chi-square test, and multivariate analysis using multiple linear regression. The results showed that EMR implementation was significantly associated with time efficiency, data accuracy, cost savings, and healthcare workers’ satisfaction (p < 0.05). Regression analysis indicated that data accuracy and time efficiency were the most dominant variables contributing to improved patient data management. It can be concluded that the implementation of the EMR system has a significant effect on patient data management at the Outpatient Clinic of Rumkit Tk. IV 01.07.02 Binjai. Therefore, improvements in technological infrastructure, routine training, and handling of technical obstacles are needed to optimize EMR utilization and maximize its impact on healthcare service quality.

Abstract

Queues occur when service demand exceeds facility capacity, causing patients to wait to receive care. Previous studies have shown that the implementation of a digital queuing system can reduce patient waiting times and improve efficiency as well as satisfaction with hospital services. This study aimed to analyze the effect of digital queuing service quality on the efficiency of patient waiting times at TK.IV 01.07.02 Binjai Hospital in 2025. This research used a quantitative method with a cross-sectional design. Sampling was conducted using the accidental sampling method. The sample in this study consisted of 113 patients who visited TK.IV 01.07.02 Binjai Hospital. The study was carried out at TK.IV 01.07.02 Binjai Hospital. The results showed that all dimensions of digital queuing service quality namely tangibles, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and Empathy  had a significant effect on the efficiency of patient waiting times at TK.IV 01.07.02 Binjai Hospital in 2025 (p < 0.05). The tangibles aspect, such as the comfort of waiting rooms and digital facilities, helped accelerate service processes, while reliability and responsiveness improved the accuracy and speed of the system and staff in handling patients. The assurance aspect fostered patients’ sense of safety and trust in staff professionalism, while Empathy  encouraged humane communication and facilitated smoother service flow.Overall, improvements in all five aspects were proven to shorten waiting times and enhance service efficiency in hospital outpatient clinics. The conclusion of this study is that all dimensions of digital queuing service quality reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and Empathy  significantly affect the efficiency of patient waiting times at the hospital. Among the five aspects, Empathy  was identified as the most dominant factor in improving the efficiency of patient waiting times.

Abstract

BPJS Kesehatan Smart Claim implementation at Santa Elisabeth Hospital Medan has progressed to Star 4, including online pharmacy bridging or e-prescription integration. This study aimed to analyze the effect of this implementation on service efficiency and effectiveness. It used a qualitative approach with an intrinsic case study design. Eighteen informants were selected through purposive-homogeneous sampling. Data were collected from August to December 2025 through semi-structured in-depth interviews, limited participatory observation of the end-to-end service and claim workflow, and document review. The data were analyzed thematically using methodological and theoretical triangulation. The findings show that Smart Claim improves data access, supports partial paperless processes, and accelerates service and claim processes under certain conditions. The claim cycle is perceived to be shorter, and pharmacy processing becomes faster after e-prescription integration. Tangibles and responsiveness tend to improve, whereas reliability and assurance still fluctuate during network and bridging disruptions, slow devices, and data mismatch or mapping problems that trigger rework, cross-unit escalation, and pending or returned claims. This study concludes that Smart Claim improves service efficiency and effectiveness conditionally, depending on infrastructure stability, staff readiness, and claim data governance.

Abstract

Cervical cancer is one of the most common types of cancer affecting women worldwide. This study aims to determine the factors associated with women's participation in cervical cancer early detection at Puskesmas Pinarik, Padang Lawas Regency, in 2025. The results showed that the attitude variable had the most significant influence on women's participation in cervical cancer early detection, with a P value = 0.000 and an Exp(B) value = 186.250. Based on these results, it can be concluded that women's attitudes are the most important factor influencing their participation in cervical cancer early detection. Therefore, Puskesmas Pinarik needs to improve health education and promotion about the importance of cervical cancer early detection for women, so that women can have sufficient knowledge and awareness to undergo early detection and reduce morbidity and mortality rates due to cervical cancer. Thus, it is expected that this study can serve as a reference for Puskesmas Pinarik in increasing women's participation in cervical cancer early detection and reducing the negative impact of cervical cancer on women.
