Abstract

Various ways have been applied to free Bali from the spread of rabies virus. Socialization / counseling to increase knowledge and understanding of the community about rabies and its prevention has been implemented. Rabies vaccination in rabies-transmitted animals has been done, even periodically every year mass rabies vaccinations have been held, and 2015 is the sixth vaccination of rabies. Reduced wild dog populations or elimination have been performed. But rabies never stops, even today all districts in Bali are red zone rabies cases. This study aimed to measure the knowledge level of Pakraman Village leaders and community participation in identifying the potential of Pakraman Village and to analyze the model of community participation in rabies prevention. The subjects were 76 head of family in Tabanan District, Klungkung District, Bangli District, Karangasem District and Buleleng District. This study used pretest and posttest group design, ie a design to determine the impact of the treatment provided by measuring the level of community participation before and after intervention. Data on knowledge was collected by filling out questionnaires by 50 prajuru (administrators) of Pakraman Village before and after being given intervention in the form of counseling with art media of Bondres. Community participation data was collected through interviews before and after intervention. Potential data of Desa Pakraman and the pattern of community participation were collected through in-depth interviews and focus group discussions. Data analysis was done descriptively in the form of central tendency because of numerical data type. Hypothesis testing was done using Wilcoxon signed rank test. Based on the result of the research, it can be concluded that: 1) effective health education to increase knowledge of village administrator and public participation in eradicating rabies virus; 2) pattern / model of community participation in eradication of rabies virus more dominant influenced by visit / suggestion. Furthermore, it is suggested that village administrator pakraman to be more intent to make visits / suggestions to educate the society so that community participation is more increased. In addition it also needs mentoring from the government in educating the community so that more effective coaching.

Abstract

A simple spectrophotometric method was used to determine the phosphate content in the water sampels. The method is based on the formation of molybdenum blue complex from the reaction of orthophosphate and ammonium molybdate followed by reduction with ascorbic acid in the aqueous sulfuric acid medium. The color intensity of the molybdenum blue complex is proportionally to the phosphate content in the solution. The system obeys Lamber-Beer’s Law at the 890 nm in the concentration range of 0.1-1 mg P/L and the linier calibration graph was obtained with the slope, 0.6334, intercept, 0.0074 and correlation coefficient of 0.9988. This official method was also used for the quantitative analysis of phosphate in the water samples and the satisfactory result was obtained. The range of phosphate concentration in the water samples are 0.033 – 2.943 mg P/L.

Abstract

ABSTRACTSalmonella paratyphi A causes enteric fever, which is paratyphic fever which attacks the intestines and is acute. Apple cider vinegar contains acetic acid, apple cider vinegar contains organic acids, namely acetic acid and amino acids, flavonoids, polyphenols, pectins and it’s also rich of vitamins and minerals. The acetic acid content of apple cider vinegar acts as an antimicrobial. The objective of the research was to determine the concentration of apple cider vinegar which was effective in inhibiting the growth of Salmonella paratyphi A bacteria. The type of research used was true experiment using posttest only control group design. The results obtained are apple vinegar can inhibit the growth of Salmonella paratyphi A bacteria with the result that the inhibition zone diameter at a concentration of 15% is 8,8 mm, 20% is 11,22 mm, 25% is 11,92 mm, and 30% is 13,05 mm, whereas in the positive control group it was obtained 29,95 mm and the negative control group was 0 mm or no inhibition zone is formed. The different test using Kruskal Wallis resulted in a value of sig (p) (0.05) so it indicated that there were differences in the inhibition zone for the growth of Salmonella paratyphi A bacteria against various concentrations of apple cider vinegar. It was concluded that there was an antibacterial activity of apple cider vinegar against the growth of Salmonella paratyphi A bacteria and the effective concentration that could inhibit the growth of Salmonella paratyphi A bacteria was at 30% concentration.ABSTRAKSalmonella paratyphi A menyebabkan demam enterik yaitu demam paratifus yang menyerang usus dan bersifat akut. Cuka apel memiliki kandungan asam asetat, Cuka sari apel memiliki kandungan asam organik yaitu asam asetat dan asam amino, flavonoid, polifenol, pektin serta kaya vitamin dan mineral. Kandungan asam asetat yang dimiliki cuka sari apel bertindak sebagai antimikroba. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui konsentrasi cuka apel yang efektif untuk menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Salmonella paratyphi A. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah true experiment dengan menggunakan rancangan posttest only control group design. Uji daya hambat antibakteri dengan menggunakan empat macam konsentrasi yaitu 15%, 20%, 25%, dan 30%. Sedangkan kontrol kerja yang digunakan adalah Kloramfenikol 30 µg sebagai kontrol positif dan aquadest steril sebagai kontrol negatif. Hasil yang didapatkan adalah cuka apel dapat menghambat pertumbuhan dari bakteri Salmonella paratyphi A dengan hasil diameter zona hambat pada konsentrasi 15% sebesar 8,8 mm, 20% sebesar 11,22 mm, 25% sebesar 11,92 mm, dan 30% sebesar 13,05 mm, sedangkan pada kelompok kontrol positif didapatkan sebesar 29,95 mm dan kontrol negatif sebesar 0 mm. Uji beda dengan uji Kruskal Wallis memperoleh hasil nilai sig (p) (0,05) sehingga menunjukkan adanya perbedaan zona hambat pertumbuhan bakteri Salmonella paratyphi A terhadap berbegai konsentrasi dari cuka apel. disimpulkan bahwa ada aktivitas antibakteri cuka apel terhadap pertumbuhan bakteri Salmonella paratyphi A dan konsentrasi efektif yang dapat menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Salmonella paratyphi A adalah konsentrasi 30%.

Abstract

Latar belakang. Warung makan merupakan salah satu aktivitas perekonomian pendukung pariwisata, namun berpotensi menjadi lokus penyebaran COVID-19. Untuk itu diperlukan adaptasi kebiasaan baru menuju masyarakat yang produktif dan aman terhadap COVID-19. Tujuan kegiatan untuk memberikan edukasi agar penjamah makanan memahami higiene dan sanitasi makanan serta protokol kesehatan Metode. Mitra kegiatan adalah desa wisata Ped yang terletak di kepulauan Nusa Penida Provinsi Bali. Sebagai kelompok sasaran adalah 50 penjamah makanan pada warung makan di sekitar obyek wisata. Kegiatan dilaksanakan selama 2 (dua) minggu, dengan metode penyuluhan mempergunakan buklet, demonstrasi, pemeriksaan angka lempeng total pada makanan dan tangan penjamah makanan Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif. Hasil kegiatan. Karakteristik penjamah makanan paling banyak berjenis kelamin perempuan sebesar 70%, dengan rentang usia 22 - 64 tahun dan paling banyak memiliki tingkat pendidikan SMA sebesar 82 %. Setelah dilaksanakan kegiatan, tingkat pengetahuan higiene dan sanitasi makanan kategori baik meningkat dari 58% menjadi 82%. Penggunaan masker secara benar meningkat dari 24% menjadi 90%. Praktek mencuci tangan dari 12% menjadi 58% sudah menerapkan langkah cuci tangan yang baik dan benar. Hasil pemeriksaan angka lempeng total, menunjukkan sebagian besar (84%) sampel makanan memenuhi syarat, sementara angka lempeng total pada tangan penjamah makanan bervariasi antara 3 x 102 CFU sampai dengan 9 x 105 CFU. Pengelolaan makanan harus menerapkan prinsip higiene sanitasi makanan mulai dari pemilihan bahan makanan sampai dengan penyajian makanan. Makanan yang tidak memenuhi syarat kesehatan akan dapat menimbulkan masalah kesehatan di masyarakat. Kesimpulan. Terdapat peningkatan pengetahuan penjamah makanan tentang higiene dan sanitasi makanan serta peningkatan penggunaan masker dan praktik cuci tangan yang benar. Disarankan penjamah makanan untuk selalu menerapkan higiene dan sanitasi makanan serta protocol kesehatan sebagai upaya pencegahan penularan penyakit.

Abstract

Pura Agung Besakih merupakan Pura Agung terbesar di Bali tempat persembahyangan umat Hindu sekaligus menjadi tujuan wisata. Para pemangku yang bertugas memimpin persembahyangan di pura tersebut sebagian besar berusia lebih dari 50 tahun dan termasuk dalam kelompok berisiko penyakit tidak menular (PTM). Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan tentang PTM serta melakukan pemeriksaan tekanan darah dan kolesterol total. Kegiatan dilakukan dengan beberapa tahapan yaitu sosialisasi, penyampaian materi, pemeriksaan kesehatan dan konsultasi hasil pemeriksaan. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan tentang PTM. Pemeriksaan terhadap para pemangku menunjukkan diagnosa tekanan darah normal dan tinggi, sedangkan kadar kolesterol terdiagnosa normal, di ambang batas dan tinggi. Kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat dilanjutkan dengan pendampingan untuk menindaklanjuti aktivitas yang dilakukan dalam mencegah kejadian PTM.

Abstract

Treatment of infectious diseases caused by bacteria has been carried out using antibiotics. However, the problem is resistance and even multi-resistance in bacteria. Preventive efforts are needed to anticipate, one of which is using soursop leaf extract scrub herbal products which contain gamma oryzanol compounds, flavonoids, phenols, and tannins as antimicrobials. This research is a pure experiment with one group pretest-posttest control design and positive and negative controls. The study aims to analyse the effectiveness of soursop leaf extract scrub products as antimicrobials on the skin of the respondents' arms before and after treatment. Antimicrobial counting uses the total plate count (TPC) method, with 118 respondents in-vivo, where the scrub is applied to the respondent's arm, measuring 10cm x 10cm for 10 minutes. The results of the data normality test with the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test obtained non-normally distributed data. The trial continued with a non-parametric test in the Wilcoxon test to get a significance value of 0.000 <0.05, which means that the soursop leaf extract scrub effectively reduces total bacteria count. The research may be helpful for the community in efforts to prevent skin infections caused by bacteria, and researchers need to conduct antibacterial tests for scrubs without soursop leaf extract as a comparison and conduct further tests such as safety tests, expiration periods and aesthetic tests on soursop leaf extract scrub products.

Abstract

Pande besi di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Tabanan I berisiko tinggi mengalami anemia akibat paparan karbon monoksida (CO) yang menurunkan kadar hemoglobin. Permasalahan meliputi kondisi lingkungan kerja yang kurang sehat, penggunaan alat pelindung diri (APD) yang belum optimal, serta sikap kerja yang berpotensi menimbulkan keluhan muskuloskeletal. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan meningkatkan pengetahuan tentang pencegahan anemia dan penyakit akibat kerja serta melakukan deteksi dini melalui pemeriksaan kadar hemoglobin. Sebanyak 60 peserta mengikuti penyuluhan kesehatan mengenai anemia, penggunaan APD, sikap kerja ergonomis, serta pemeriksaan hemoglobin menggunakan metode POCT. Evaluasi melalui pre-test dan post-test menunjukkan peningkatan pengetahuan peserta secara signifikan. Hasil pemeriksaan hemoglobin mengungkapkan bahwa 31,67% peserta mengalami anemia. Kegiatan ini berhasil meningkatkan kesadaran pande besi terhadap risiko paparan CO, pentingnya penggunaan APD, serta perlunya pemeriksaan kesehatan rutin sebagai upaya pencegahan dini anemia dan penyakit akibat kerja. Intervensi ini direkomendasikan untuk dilakukan secara rutin dengan dukungan kolaborasi antara puskesmas, kelompok pekerja, dan pihak terkait untuk menciptakan lingkungan kerja yang aman dan sehat.

Abstract

  The nutritional status of pregnant women can be determined by measuring the size of mid-upper arm circumference (MUAC) and body mass index (BMI). Women with excessive nutritional status have a high risk of various complications. This study aims to describe the nutritional status and blood glucose levels of pregnant women at the Ubud Health Center, Bali. This descriptive study was conducted on 27 pregnant women who had antenatal care at the Ubud Health Center. MUAC size was measured using a measuring tape, while BMI was measured by calculating body weight in kilograms divided by height in meters squared. Blood glucose levels were measured using the point of care testing (POCT) method. From 27 respondents, it was found that 23 respondents had normal MUAC, 3 respondents had less than normal, and 1 respondent was obese. Based on BMI, 14 respondents had normal BMI, 5 respondents were overweight, and 8 respondents were obese. For blood glucose levels, all respondents have normal levels. Respondents who have MUAC less than normal can be at risk of chronic energy deficiency, while respondents with the obese category can be at risk of GDM, hypertension, and cesarean section. Pregnant women with GDM can increase the risk of type 2 DM, cardiovascular disease and have the potential to give birth macrosomic babies. Pregnant women with GDM almost never give complaints, so screening is necessary. Screening can be done by measuring the nutritional status of pregnant women and blood glucose levels during antenatal care at health center.
