Abstract

Knowing about the problem of Watershed is very important to manage the river environment. Oneof the indicator to know the watershed problem is concentration of suspend load sediment.Thisresearch conduct to observe about relationship between stream flow debit and Suspend Load ofSediment which influenced hydrologic condition on Padang Hilir sub Watershed. This researchconduct to from May until October 2013 at Padang Hilir Sub Watershed, use a survey method withrandom sampling. Water sampling is taken out for three times in a week at after rain or no rain forsix months so that total water sample as much as 82 sample. The result show that concentration ofload sediment at no rain measure have highest value in October as big as 256,67 mg/L (worse)and the lowest in July as big as 43,3 mg/L (good),meanwhile at after rain and no rain measurehave highest value at August for 416,67 mg/L (very worse) and the lowest in July as big as 25mg/L (good). At no and after rain relationship betwen concentration of suspend load sediment andstream flow showed by equation : Y = 74,721 + 0,895x with signification value was 0,023 anddetermination value (r2) was 0,014 ( very weak). Meanwhile at not rain relationship betwenconcentration of suspend load sediment on stream flow regression showed by equation :Y = 28,741 +0,030x with stream flow signification value as big as 0,046 and determination value(r2) was 0,065 (weak).Key words : Padang Sub Watershed, stream flow, concentration of suspend load sedimen.

Abstract

This research aimed to determine the effect of brown algae compost (Sargassum polycystum)enriched with various of dosage N, P and K fertilizer against inceptisol chemical properties andmaize. This research was conducted in June – October 2013 using non-factorial randomized blockdesign, with 7 treatment and 4 replication. That is P0 (not enriched brown algae compost), P1, P2,P3, P4, P5, and P6 (compost enriched urea 2g and 4g dosage level, SP36 2g and 4g dosage level,KCl 0,5g and 1g dosage level). Applied before the vegetative period (when beginning to cultivatethe land) and before the generative period. Parameters measured d canopy, and cob with cornhuskweight. The results showed that brown algae enriched compost significantly affect the pH (H2O),K-exchange soil, plant height and cob with cornhusk. The best dosage is P5 (brown algae compostenriched with urea 4g, SP36 2g, and KCl 0,5g application on early vegetatif and urea 2g, SP36 2g,dan KCl 1g application at the end of vegetative period) against cornhusk cob weight and dry weightof maize plant canopy.Keywords : Brown Algae Compost, N, P dan K Fertilizer, Inceptisol, Maize

Abstract

Evaluation Status of Organic Matter Content and Soil Physical Properties (Bulk Density, Texture and Soil Temperature) the Coffee Crop Land (Coffeea Sp.) in Some Districts Dairipurpose to makeevaluation status of the organic matter and soil physical properties (bulk density, texture and soil temperature) the coffee crop land (Coffeea Sp.) in some districts Dairi. Sampling using free methods tosurvey the level of review and analysis of data C- organic by Walkey and Black method, bulk densityby Ring Sample method, texture by Hydrometer method and soil temperature (oC) using the formula ofBraak, and interpret the nutrient status of the map through the program ArcMap 10. Parameters in the analysis are C-organik, bulk density, texture and soil temperature. The result of research showed thatthe nutrient status of the research area map C-organic consists of a very low criteria (3 sample), low(13 sample),being(12 sample) danhigh (10 sample). Bulk Density, porous criteria (13 sample) and solid (25 sample). Texture, very smoothcriteria (1 sample), smooth (6 sample), rather smooth (10 sample), being (9 sample), a bit rough (7 sample) dan rough (4 sample), andrezim Soil TemperatureIsohyperthermic (38 sample). Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi kesesuaian lahan untuk tanaman Kopi Arabika danKopi Robusta Di Kecamatan Silima Pungga-pungga Kabupaten Dairi. Diperoleh 18 (delapan belas)SPL (satuan peta lahan) yang ditentukan berdasarkan peta jenis tanah, peta kemiringan lereng danpeta ketinggian tempat yang dihasilkan dari peta topografi dengan skala 1 : 50.000, kemudiandilakukan overlay. Penilaian kelas kesesuaian lahan berdasarkan kriteria Staf Pusat PenelitianTanah Bogor Tahun 1993 dan metode evaluasi lahan adalah metode limit berdasarkan Djaenuddin,2003. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kelas kesesuaian lahan potensial Kecamatan SilimaPungga-pungga untuk tanaman kopi arabika adalah tidak sesuai (N) dan untuk tanaman kopirobusta, kelas kesesuaian lahan potensial adalah agak sesuai (S2).Kata kunci : kesesuaian lahan, kopi arabika, kopi robusta

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mempelajari pengaruh pemberian MVA (mikoriza vesiculararbuskular) terhadap pertumbuhan dan serapan hara bibit karet (Hevea brasiliensis Muell. Arg.) padakondisi berbagai kadar air tanah terhadap serapan hara dan pertumbuhan stump karet di rumah kasa.Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Rumah Kasa Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Sumatera Utara, Medanyang berada pada ketinggian ± 25 dpl dari bulan Maret sampai Agustus 2014, menggunakan rancanganpetak terpisah dengan 4 ulangan, dua faktor yaitu kadar air tanah sebagai petak utama dengan 3 taraf(K1, K2, K3) dan Mikoriza arbuskular sebagai anak petak dengan 4 taraf (M0, M1, M2, M3). Parameteryang diamati adalah tinggi tanaman, bobot kering tajuk, derajat infeksi akar, kadar hara N dan Ptanaman, serapan hara N dan P tanaman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penurunan kadar airtanah menghambat pertumbuhan tinggi tanaman secara nyata, menurunkan bobot kering tajuk sertaserapan N dan P tanaman. Inokulasi mikoriza Acaulospora sp. 1 pada kadar air tanah 80 % kapasitaslapang dan mikoriza Glomus sp. pada kadar air tanah 60 % kapasitas lapang meningkatkan bobotkering tanaman serta serapan N dan P tanaman.Kata kunci : tanaman karet, kadar air, mikoriza arbuskular.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of danger of erosion on land coffee plant ( Coffea Sp ) insome of the District Dairi . Coffee plants can grow in a variety of soil types and grows well ataltitude 800 sd 2000 m above sea level , the temperature is 15 sd 25oC , rainfall 1,750 mm peryear sd 3.000 and pH 5.5 up to 6.5 . Number of Production Smallholders 2758.85 tonnes ofRobusta and Arabica coffee 10088.50 tonnes . In 2006 amounted to 2,865 tons , an increase of18,168 tonnes (2008 ) , dropped to 2,060 tons (2009 ) , be 12 847 tonnes (2010 ). 19,000 hectaresof land used , used for Robusta coffee smallholders and 8,495 for Arabica coffee 10504.5hectaresKeyword : Coffee Plant, Soil Slope, Erosion potential.

Abstract

This research aim to determine the effect of several source and dosage of organic activators ondecomposition rate of empty fruit bunch. This study used a factorial randomized block design (RBD)consist of two factors and three replications. The first factor was the source of organic activatorsconsist of three treatments (chicken manure, cow manure, goat manure) and the second factor wasthe dosage of activator consist of 4 treatments (0, 15, 30 and 45% (w/w)). The results showed thatthe best organic activator in decreasing C/N ratio of compost was chicken manure, withdecomposition rate 10,77 unit/week. The best dosage activator in decreasing C/N ratio of compostwas 45% (w/w), with decomposition rate 17,51 unit/week. Increasing dosage of activator increasedthe decomposition rate, except for chicken manure. The best dosage of chicken manure to increasedecomposition rate of EFB was 30% (w/w).Key words : Oil palm empty bunche compost, organic activator, decomposition rate.

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to know the location with the highest production of arabicca coffee(Coffea Arabica) in Lintong Nihuta regency of Humbang Hasundutan. The study was done withcorelating map of place height, map of slope, map of ground tipe. After overlaying map of groundtipe, elvation, and slope it was found 31 SPT (set of land) with the scale 1 : 25.000. The populationof the research is coffee tree in the study field. Sum of point of sampling for coffee trees are 390sample points. The result of data analysis showed the higest sum of ripe seed coffe production atSiponjot village as SPL (set of land) 12 and the lowest sum of ripe seed coffee production atPargaulan village as SPL 3. The highest weight production of ripe seed coffee production atSiponjot village as SPl (set of land) 12 and the lowest weight production of ripe seed coffeeproduction at Lobutua Village as SPL 2. Abstract

The purpose of reviewing robusta coffee (Coffea robusta Lindl.) production at some height, slope, and soil type in Silima Pungga-Pungga regency of Dairi. After overlaying map of ground tipe, elvation, and slope it was found 18 SPT (set of land)  with the scale  1 : 25.000. The population of the research is coffee tree in the study field. Sum of point of sampling for coffee trees are 540 sample points. The result of data analysis showed the higest sum of ripe seed coffee production at Great Group Hydrudands as SPL (set of land) 12 and the lowest sum of ripe seed coffee production at Great Group Kadiudults as  SPL 1. Abstract

The objective of this research is to evaluatethe land suitability arabica coffee (Coffea arabica) and strawberry  (Fragaria vescaLinn.) in Pematang Sidamanik Subdistrict of Simalungun District.The methode of this research is the survay method. from the results of the overlay  from the map of  soil types, map of  topography, and map of height place, retrieved 10 (ten) units of land use map. The result of the research showed that  actual and potential land suitability class for arabica coffee and strawberry  at SPL 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 is Not Suitable (N) with restrain factor is rooting condition (rc).  The actual land suitability class for  arabica coffeeat SPL 7 is Not Suitable (N) with restrain factor is erosion hazard (eh). SPL 10 is Marginally Suitable (S3) with restrain factors water available, nutrient retention, and erosion hazard (wa, nr, eh), while the potential land suitability class at SPL 7 is Marginally Suitable (S3) with restraint factor water available and erosion hazard (wa, eh). SPL 10 is Marginally Suitable (S3) with restrain factor water available (wa).The actual land suitability class for   strawberry  at SPL 7 is Not Suitable (N) with restrain factor is erosion hazard (eh). SPL 10 is Marginally Suitable (S3) with restrain factor  nutrient retention and erosion hazard (nr, eh), while the potential land suitability class for strawberry  at SPL 7 is Marginally Suitable (S3) with restrain factor erosion hazard (eh).
