Abstract

The main issue of this study was the view most of the students and communities that physics was a difficult subject and filled with so many formulas that cause students to be less motivated to learn physics, especially in senior high school. To increase student motivation, it was necessary to use innovative strategies in teaching physics. Has done a study of 65 students of class X SMA 8 Pekanbaru. The students were divided into two groups to determine the increase in motivation to learn physics with the implementation of peer tutoring strategies. ARCS motivation questionnaire used as research data collection instruments and the data was analyzed descriptively by calculating the gain motivation to learn phyiscs in the experimental group and the control group. The results of descriptive analysis showed that there was an increase in students' motivation of experiment group with motivation gain obtained amounting to 0.418 with a middle category. In the control group, as well as an increase in students' motivation to gain motivation of 0.244 with a low category. These results indicate that the use of peer tutors learning strategies in physics learning tend to increase the students' motivation. Keywords: physics teaching, learning motivation, peer tutoring

Abstract

This study aims to describe students' social skills through cooperative learningmodel with Intellectually Auditory Repetition (AIR) approach. Research subjects were 30eight-grade students of junior high school. Twelve students from the two groupsof them wereobservedby using social skills instrument.The students'social skills are comprised of fiveaspects, namely in the task, encouraging participation, taking turns and sharing tasks, activelylistening and asking questions. Data were analyzedusing percentage of every aspect ofstudents' social skills. Based on analysis of data obtained, 91.67 percent students are in highcategory and 8.33 percentin middle category of social skills level. Thus, the application ofcooperative learning model with intellectually auditory repetition in the learning of sciencephysics can develop social skills of junior high school students.

Abstract

Sebahagian besar guru menganggap bahwa penerapan pembelajaran berbasis proyeksukar untuk dilaksanakan karena adanya faktor sosiol ekonomi siswa, yang mana dalam pelaksanaanproyek sains tentu akan memerlukan peralatan dan bahan yang akandiperlukan siswa, sedangkan satukaedah inkuiri yang disarankan oleh Kurikulum Pendidikan Indonesia 2013 adalah pembelajaran berbasisproyek (project based learning). Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan informasi berkaitan denganpelaksanaan pembelajaran berbasis proyek di kota Pekanbaru. Kajian berbentuk survey dilakukanpada 32 orang guru dari 16 sekolah menengahdi Pekanbaru. Hasil yang didapatkan adalah sebanyak56.25 % guru setuju bahwa pembelajaran sains berbasis proyek dapat dilaksanakan apabila tersediabahan dan peralatan dari labor. Sebanyak 50 % guru menyatakan sukar mendapatkan alat dan bahanuntuk keperluan pembelajaran dari lingkungan sekitar, 56,25 % menyatakan sulit mempersiapkanmedia untuk proyek. Di sisilain,50 % guru berpendapatbahwa pembelajaran berbasisproyek membuatsiswa kreatif dan inovatif dan 75 % guru sependapat bahwa belajar sains menggunakan pembelajaranberdasarkan proyek memudahkan siswa mencapai materi pembelajaran. Berdasarkan informasi diatas dapat disimpulkan bahwa pada dasarnya guru-guru meyakini bahwa pembelajaran berabasis proyekbaik untuk dilaksanakan, namun perlu ada peralatan dan bahan yang cukup, ide-ide proyek yang akandilaksanakan, biaya proyek yang murah, serta adanya modul pengajaran berbasis proyekbagi guru danmodul pembelajaran bagi siswa.

Abstract

A survey has been done on 46 teachers who taught Physics in grade VII and VIIIon 12 junior high schools within Pekanbaru. The respondents were selected from the schools thathad already have science laboratories. This survey was aimed to know the intensity and somedifficulties faced by the teachers in doing lab works while teaching science, especially Physics.The data of this research was collected by using questionnaires, and analyzed descriptively. Theresult of the research showed that the implementation of experiments while learning Physicswere rarely done by teachers. It was identified that there were some things causing teachersreluctant to do the experiments in the laboratory, according to the teachers’ perception. Someconstraints were include: 1. The intensity of teachers in joining laboratory workshops was stilllow, 2. The availability of the laboratory equipment was still not enough, 3. The material ofscience in high schools was very tight, therefore teachers were forced to give lecture than havingexperiments in the laboratory, 4. The learning objectives were quite difficult to be achievedthrough lab works, 5. Doing experiment was needed much time in preparation, 6. The time ofdoing experiment in each meeting always not enough, 7. The teachers’ knowledge on using thelaboratory equipment was still low, 8. The teachers faced difficulties in designing their ownworksheets, 9. Having no laboratory assistant to help teachers to do Physics experiments.

Abstract

Abstrack: This research aims to determine the national exam HOTS science physics and HOTS students of SMP N 1 Salo in completing the national exam science physics. This type of research is descriptive research, content analysis or document type. The research subjects are students of class IX SMP N 1 Salo, namely class IXA - IXF amount of 139 students. The data in this study a matter of HOTS percentage in the national exam in 2014, 2015 and 2016, subsequently measured absorption students work on the problems that have category HOTS in the national examinations in 2016 were analyzed descriptively. Based on data analysis were categorized HOTS matter in the national exam in 2016, 2015 and 2014 respectively 8.7%, 11.7%, and 0%. Absorptive capacity of students in work on the problems that have category HOTS on the national exam in 2016 with a percentage of 20.1%. It can be concluded that the category HOTS matter on the national exam science physics is still very low and HOTS students in completing the national exam science physics in 2016 is still low.Key Words: High Order Thinking Skills (HOTS), National Examination, Science Physics

Abstract

Abstract: This research has a purpose to find out the practicality equipment of modulus rigidity and student worksheet as physic learning media for senior high school. The method that used is Research and Development (R&D) with Borg and Gall development model in test of introduction phase that usually called as practicality test. The subject are 20 student of XI Science and 3 teachers of physic in 5 Senior High School at Pekanbaru. In this research, the information analyzed descriptively with average score every aspect estimation practicality that obtained by changing inquiries. From it, the estimation of student  and teachers  can be known based Likert Scale. After that, decision of practicality test can be determined by distance of average score that very low, low, high, and very high.The result score average practicality for equipment experiment in the research  is 3,67             in category very high by teachers and 3,28 with in category high by student. And the result practicality student worksheet get it very high with average score 3,77 and 3,30 by teachers and student. Therefore, it can be concluded practicality of equipment modulus rigidity and student worksheet can defined practical as physic learning media for senior high school. Keywords: Modulus rigidity, practicality,equipment, student worksheet

Abstract

Abstract: This research aims to determine improvement the learning outcomes cognitive science of physics by using media posters. This research was conducted in SMPN 2 Kuantan Hilir Seberang precisely in maret to June 2015. The subjects were students of class  VIIIA and VIIIC totaling 64 students consisting of two class which has been in both classes homogeneity testing. Form the research is pre-experimental with design intact-group comparison. The instrument of data collection in this research is a cognitive achievement test consists of 20 multiple choice items. Analysis of the data in this research is a descriptive analysis. The results were obtained absorption class using the media posters is higher then the class without using the media poster with a good enough category, otherwise learning effectiveness declared in effective less, then completeness of learning’s students classically and completeness of lesson declared not complete, and then improvement the learning outcomes cognitive students with a low category. Nevertheless, it can be concluded application media posters can increase the learning outcomes students class VIII SMPN 2 Kuantan Hilir Seberang in the subject matter vibration and wave. Abstract

Abstract: This research is aimed to describe and find out the improvement of the learning outcomes of students by applying cooperative learning model type TGT using media physics circuit in the main optical subject. The design of this research was a pre-experimental with intact-group comparison design. This research subjects were students of VIII class at SMPN 34 Pekanbaru it consists of 80 students, divided into class is experimental and control class. Data collection instruments in this research was test cognitif of learning outcomes to be evaluation in the end of meeting with consists of 20 cognitif questions. The analysis of the data uses descriptive analysis using criteria average of absorption students after applying cooperative learning model type TGT using media physics circuit in the main optical subject. The finding of the analysis of the data indicated that average of absorption students in the experimental class is 82,75% with good category and in the control class is 75,13% with good category. Therefore, it can be concluded that the application of cooperative learning model type TGT using media physics circuit can improve learning outcomes students in the optical subject at VIII4 class of SMPN 34 Pekanbaru.Kata Kunci: Cooperative Learning Model Type TGT, Media Physics Circuit,Learning Outcomes Students.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to determine the misconception experienced by students in physics learning on static fluid material using Certain of Response Index (CRI) method at SMAN 7 Pekanbaru. This research was conducted from March to July 2017 with the subject of research is all students of class X in SMAN 7 Pekanbaru as many as 106 students. The type of research conducted is survey research. In this study, the data obtained were primary data and the instruments used to measure student misconceptions on static fluid materials were misconception tests. This misconception test consists of 20 items of multiple choice and is accompanied by CRI columns for each answer. CRI value shows the level of confidence of students in answering questions. The data have been analyzed descriptively. Based on the data analysis, it was found that the mean misconception of students on static fluid material was 42%, with misconceptions on each of the static fluid submissions such as hydrostatic pressure, Pascal's law, Archimedes law and surface tension, respectively: 41% 42%, 46% and 38%. Thus it can be concluded that the misconception experienced by the students of class X of SMAN 7 Pekanbaru on static fluid material is still quite high and the highest percentage of student misconception is found in the submateri Archimedes law.Keywords : Misconception, static fluid, CRI (certain of response index)

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to determine the use of HOTS Student Worksheet to improve the thinking ability of high grade students of class XI SMA Negeri 8 Pekanbaru which refers to four indicators, namely Analysis, Evaluation, Inferens and Comparison. The type of research used is quasi experimental research. Subjects of this study were 68 people, namely 34 people in the control class and 34 people in the experimental class. The instrument used in this study is a High Level Thinking Ability Test that amounts to 12 items of objective. Data collection is done by giving test to the research subject. Data is processed descriptively by percentage technique and is explained per HOTS indicator. Based on the result of data analysis indicate that students' high thinking ability in indicator of analysis get percentage 89,22%, Evaluation indicator with percentage 63,73%, indicator of Inferens with percentage 91,18% and indicator Comparison with percentage 53,41%. Thus the use of HOTS student worksheet can improve students' high thinking ability.Keywords: HOTS Student Worksheet, High-Order Thinking Skills
