Abstract

The aim of this study was to gain an overview of the perception of physics subject and performance of their physic teacher. The sample of this study was 342 students of one of Junior High School in Pekanbaru. Data were collected using a questionnaire perceptions of physics subject and physic teacher performance. Both instruments were qualified with valid and reliable test of the validity of the questionnaire using the product moment correlation and reliability using alpha Cronbach. Descriptive analysis of the data showed75.8% of students have a positive and highly positive perception towards science in daily life, 83.9% of the science and technology, 85.3% of the science influence on other subjects .Only a small percentage of students who gave a negative and very negative perception of the three indicators of perception. Meanwhile, 45.53% of students stated that the performance of their physics teachers are in the category of very high, 47.95% were in the high categoryand6.51% at the low and very low categories. These results indicate that the students of junior high school in Pekanbaru have a good perception of physics subject and physics teacher performance. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan perangkat percobaan momeninersia dan keseimbangan benda tegar. Dengan adanya perangkat percobaan ini diharapkandapat mendukung kegiatan pembelajaran fisika di SMA. Metode penelitian ini adalah metodepenelitian pengembangan atau R&D (research and developement). Validitas dan praktikalitasperangkat percobaan menggunakan validitas isi dan uji empirik. Hasil penelitian inimenunjukkan bahwa perangkat percobaan momen inersia dan keseimbangan benda tegartelah berhasil dikembangkan dengan validitas dan praktikalitas perangkat berada padakategori sangat tinggi, sehingga perangkat percobaan ini dinyatakan sesuai digunakan dalampembelajaran fisika di SMA. Namun demikian, perangkat percobaan ini tidak sesuaidigunakan untuk pengukuran teknis karena akurasinya masih rendah.

Abstract

A survey has been done on 46 teachers who taught Physics in grade VII and VIIIon 12 junior high schools within Pekanbaru. The respondents were selected from the schools thathad already have science laboratories. This survey was aimed to know the intensity and somedifficulties faced by the teachers in doing lab works while teaching science, especially Physics.The data of this research was collected by using questionnaires, and analyzed descriptively. Theresult of the research showed that the implementation of experiments while learning Physicswere rarely done by teachers. It was identified that there were some things causing teachersreluctant to do the experiments in the laboratory, according to the teachers’ perception. Someconstraints were include: 1. The intensity of teachers in joining laboratory workshops was stilllow, 2. The availability of the laboratory equipment was still not enough, 3. The material ofscience in high schools was very tight, therefore teachers were forced to give lecture than havingexperiments in the laboratory, 4. The learning objectives were quite difficult to be achievedthrough lab works, 5. Doing experiment was needed much time in preparation, 6. The time ofdoing experiment in each meeting always not enough, 7. The teachers’ knowledge on using thelaboratory equipment was still low, 8. The teachers faced difficulties in designing their ownworksheets, 9. Having no laboratory assistant to help teachers to do Physics experiments.

Abstract

Abstract: The aim of the study is to identify the correlation between the students attitude toward physics learning and student’s achievement class XI science of MAN Taluk Kuantan at 2015/2016 academic year. There wear 78 students participated as respondence in this research. The instruments of this study was questioner of students attitude toward physics learning. The study found that there are a positive and significant correlation between the students attitude toward physics learning and students achievement of MAN Taluk Kuantan. This study identified that there are 51% of negative attitudes respondence showed. Abstract

Abstrack: This research aimed to describe and find out the improvement of the students motivation learning on physic by applying problem based learning model. This type of research is a quasi-experimental, with nonequivalent control group design. The subject of this research is students class VIII at MTs Diniyah Pekanbaru, total of 41 students as divide into two class, experimental class and control class. The data in this research is a score of motivation before and after learning physics by implementation of problem based learning and analysis of the data uses descriptive analysis. Then, measured the improvement of the students motivation by normalized gain (gain-N). The result of this research, score motivation of students at experimental class in high category and increase in the middle category with N-Gain 0,46, and the control class in the middle category with N-Gain 03. Therefore, it can be concluded that the implementation of problem based learning able to improve the motivation of students on physic at MTs Diniyah Putri Pekanbaru.Key Words: Learning Model, Problem Based Learning, Motivation..

Abstract

Abstract: The purposed of this reserach and development study is to produce an experiment’s device of gas calorimeter as a physics learning media of senior high school students. This device consist of the tool kit and user manual. There were 5 expert in physics learning have been participated in the validity process of this research. The research found that the gas calorimeter tool kit and user manual has a good criteria as physics learning media.Keywords: Design and Validation, Research and Development, Gas Calorimeter tool kit.

Abstract

Abstract : The purpose of this research is to investigate the improvement of physic achievement in physic learning by using roundtable strategy. Non – equivalent control group design has been used to find out the differentiate of physic achievement of both group, experiment group and control group. There were 57 students of MAN 1 Pekanbaru, class X that devide into two group, experiment and control have been participated in this research. The physic achievement test that consist of 25 items with multiple choice type was used. This instrument measure the physic achievement from C1 (knowledge) to C6 (evaluation) of Bloom Tacsonomy. The descriptive analysis found that physic achievement of students in roundtable learning is higher than conventional learning. The T-tes analysis showed that the differentiate of physic achievement of students was significant at 0,05 level.  Key Words :  physic achievement, physic learning, strategy roundtable

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to describe the self directed learning of students in physics through the application of SQ4R model on the momentum and impulse subject. This type of research is pre-experiment research using one group pre-test post-test design. The participants are the students of X10 class SMAN 8 Pekanbaru with the number of 27 people. The pre-exeriment research instrument use self directed learning ability questionnaires. Descriptive analysis technique is used as data analysis technique. The results showed that the initial level of self directed learning ability of the students was at score 2.88 and after application of SQ4R model was at score 2.69. This study concludes that the SQ4R model does not increase the independence of physics learning on the momentum and impulse subject.Keywords: SQ4R, Self Directed Learning Ability, Momentum and Impulse

Abstract

Abstract: The porpose of this research to measure the practicality level of experimental devices of magnetic as media physics learning of junior high school. The device consisting of 8 pieces, those are magnetic levitation, magnetic resonance, magnetic field energy, test properties of magnetic material, detector properties of magnetic material, magnetic induction rotaty machine, compolar motor 1, compolar motor 2 and students experimental guide. Data collected by giving a questionnaire of practicality to teachers and students. There were 5 science teachers and 30 students of junior high school have participated in this research. Data were analyzed descriptively to determine the level of the experimental device practicaility. The result of data analysis this research found the level of practicality is in high and very high category and the assessment of the experimental guide practice is very high category. Based on data analysis, it can be concluded that the experimental device of magnetic are practical and feasible to be used as learning media physics of junior high school.Keywords: practicality level, magnetic experimental devices, magnetic field
