Abstract

The fuel that we use in the subsistence component containing air pollutants. To overcome these problems the researchers and engineers to create a way for the fuel used was clean and friendly environment. One method used is a water emulsion. This study aims to identify the characteristics of the water emulsion fuel. This study is determine the characteristics of the water emulsion fuel through testing Thermal Gravimetric Analysis (TGA). From the test results it can be seen pure diesel fuel MDO begin to decompose at temperatures of 230°C, whereas all samples of diesel emulsion water average decomposes at a temperature of 110°C. In Thermal Gravimetric Analysis (TGA) testing sample numbers II is the best sample.

Abstract

Indonesia merupakan salah satu Negara penghasil berbagai macam produk pertanian salah satunya berupa padi, Padi merupakan tanaman yang penting di Indonesia, karena sebagai sumber makanan pokok sebagian besar masyarakat Indonesia adalah nasi yang berasal dari padi. Pengeringan salah satu proses tahapan padi menjadi beras untuk menurunkan kadar air bahan sampai tingkat yang di inginkan. Pengeringan yang dilakukan di Indonesia sebagian besar menggunakan metode tradisional, hal tersebut memiliki beberapa kekurangan yaitu kehilangan sejumlah gabah akibat kotoran, dimakan hewan, serta tidak dapat dijemur pada saat hujan. Karena faktor – faktor tersebut pengeringan mekanis sangat dibutuhkan. Tujuan penelitian adalah menganalisa karakteristik laju aliran fluida pada mesin pengering untuk memberikan gambaran tentang profil kecepatan, tekanan dan temperature pada saat proses pengeringan. Dalam penelitian ini penulis menggunakan software CFD yaitu Gambit 2.2.30, dan Fluent 6.3.26. Pada varian temperature 45°C merupakan varian terbaik karena menghasilkan kontur yang merata yang ada diruangan pengering dengan suhu 43,3°C. Pada varian kecepatan 25 m/s merupakan varian terbaik menghasilkan tekanan sebesar 1800 – 2000 pascal karena proses pemindahan gabah membutuhkan 1876 pascal, dan udara yang masuk keruangan pengering lebih merata walaupun terdapat pusaran.

Abstract

Peralatan praktikum kompresor torak sangat diperlukan dalam proses praktikum prestasi mesin. Peralatan yang dijadikan objek penelitian adalah peralatan kompresor torak yang dirancang dan dibuat atas modifikasi peralatan sebelumnya. Pada modifikasi alat praktikum kompresor torak ini didesain memiliki rangka berukuran 1200 x 750 x 710 mm. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisa kebisingan yang timbul akibat operasional mesin kompresor. Pengukuran kebisingan dilakukan dengan menggunakan alat sound level meter. Dari hasil pengukuran didapat tingkat kebisingan rata-rata pada alat kompresor torak berkisar 65.6 – 85.3 dB. Kebisingan yang dihasilkan dari alat praktikum kompresor torak masih jauh melebihi standar yang ditetapkan oleh keputusan menteri Negara lingkungan hidup nomor : KEP-48/MENLH/11/1996 yaitu sebesar 55 dB untuk lingkungan pendidikan.

Abstract

Petrol fuel is a very inexpendable resource of energy to move or operate a machine to work as it could be. There were so many kinds of fuel such as pertamax, pertamax turbo, and avgas, with each other has a different octane number. Fuel consumption is affected by so many factor, few between them arethe difference between their octane number. The purpose of this study is to found the consumption value of 150cc gokart engine with an octane number variant. This experiment test the specific fuel consumption and air fuel ratio of the engine mentioned above when using different fuel like pertamax, pertamax turbo, and avgas, as all of them tested using dynotest, which connected to computer to track their power value of each fuel used linearly with Rpm increase, idle Rpm, 3000, 5000, 7000 and 9000 Rpm. For specific fuel consumption count based on time needed to emptying each of the fuel tested. From the research, found that specific fuel consumption value was 680 gram/Kwh for pertamax fuel, 357 gram/Kwh for pertamax turbo fuel, and 675 gram/Kwh for avgas. In this research, the factor that affects the specific fuel consumption is the difference between octane number of each fuel type

Abstract

Seiring dengan laju pembangunan produksi baja pada sinter plant area. Minyak transformator dalam memenuhi kebutuhan industri mengandung banyak senyawa-senyawa didalamnya. Untuk mengetahui permasalahan yang sering terjadi pada suatu minyak trafo, para peneliti sering menciptakan cara agar minyak trafo mempunyai daya isolasi yang baik. Salah satu cara yang digunakanya itu uji kuantitas minyak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempelajari karakteristik minyak trafo melalui pengujian Gas Chromatography Mass – Spectrometry (GCMS) dan Thermal Gravimetric Analysis (TGA) serta mobil Gas Chromatography (GC) untuk memisahkan dan mendeteksi jenis - jenis gas yang telah diekstrak dari minyak sampel. Dan baur tester Untuk menentukan Tegangan isolasi pada trafo, penggunaan jangka panjang minyak. Dari hasil pengujian GCMS dapat diketahui minyak trafo memiliki senyawa yang baik terdapat pada sample 2 karena tidak memiliki senyawa sulfur, pada pengujian TGA sample yang memiliki weigh loss yang kecil adalah sample 1 dan hasil kualitas GC sample 2 hasilnya sangat baik karena minyak dalam kondisi baru, dan hasil pengujian baur tester tegangan tembus yang baik terdapat pada sample 2 dan 3

Abstract

Aim: This study aims to determine the potency of horsetail plant to remove heavy metal concentration. Methodology and Results: Data was obtained from fifty-four (54) horsetails which were divided into three batches of 12, 18, and 24 plants respectively. Furthermore, the experimental method with the subsurface flow system treatment was used with two samplings for seven days. The results showed that the first, second and third batches gave a 6.83%, 10.28%, and 16.26% impact on reducing concentration of Fe respectively with an approximate average of 11%. Therefore, the detention time of the leachate constructed wetland reactors significantly reduced the Fe contaminant. Conclusion, significance, and impact of study: This research provides a solution to mitigate the environment by adopting the accumulator of Horsetail plants (Equisetem hyemale) in the constructed wetlands reactor experiment. From the three reactors approximately 0.03 mg/L of heavy metal iron was removed after a seven day run. Therefore, horsetail plant showed a positive impact in reducing environmental pollution, a trend adoptable in wastewater and leachate treatment technology in Indonesia.

Abstract

Gokart were so popular on competition scene in Indonesia, using a two-stroke engine with an engine specification being regulated in race regulation. But for now, not only a two-stroke engine, many four-stroke engine gokart race held as it was safer for their driver and environment. It is necessary to do research on emissions and noise emmision so that they can be used as a reference in karting competitions and to maintain the safety of many people involved in the race. Emmision gas test conducted using gas analyzer, while for the noise emmision test using sound level meter. Data taken when the gokart engine in standby, neutral gear. Fuel kinds are the variants of this research, as different fuel means different octane number, such as Pertamax (92), Pertamax Plus (98) and Avgas (102), with data being taken at idle rpm, 3000, 5000, 7000 and 9000 for each different fuel. Data desired were CO, HC, O2, CO2, NOX gas concentration, while for the noise were the decibel value produced by engine. Best result achieved when using Pertamax Plus (98) for emmision gas, which is having emmision gas concentration of CO, HC, O2, CO2, NOX, with a value of 2.25%, 6012.4ppm, 1.98%, 14.33%, and 30.8ppm respectively. Worst result achieved when using Avgas (102), which is having emmision gas concentration of CO, HC, O2, CO2, NOX, with a value of 1.636%, 8849ppm, 0.42%, 17.63%, dan 19ppm respectively. While the noise emmision value based by engine rotation speed, which the speed affects the noise emmision as 1-5 db increasing for each 2000 Rpm increase. While looking for an octane number as a reference, the noise emmision value increase from 1 until 2 for each increase of the fuel octane number.Keywords: Emmision gas, noise emmision, two-stroke engine, gas analyzer, sound level meter.

Abstract

Particulate matter in the environment can give a bad effect to the body of human through the respiratory process. These conditions require researchers to innovate to reduce the air pollution. The electrostatic precipitator (ESP) filter system is one technology for reduce of particulate matter by the combustion of Incinerator. This system has a good efficiency and very good in reducing of particulate matter produce by Incinerator. The materials used for the ESP system air filter in this study were iron and Stainless Steel 304. The tests carried out were the corrosion rate test, and X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) where the corrosion rate of the material will be measured using the weight loss method and seen the content and elements involved. changed using XRD. The results shows that the corrosion rate test, iron has a corrosion rate decrease of 66% and Stainless Steel 304 by 73%.. The Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) EDX results show that after heating both specimens have the same ferrite pearlite phase but for iron specimens, pearlite is more dominant, and stainless steel 304 is more dominant in ferrite. While for the XRD results, there are wave changes on the graph of the iron and stainless steel 304 specimens before and after being heated, which means that there are differences in the phase of the two specimens.

Abstract

According to data from Dinas Koperasi dan UKM of Banten province, the number of UKM/IKM in Banten has reached three hundred (300) thousand which is spread across 5 (five) districts/cities. With such large number of UKM/IKM, one of the obstacles faced by decision makers (government) is the difficulty in classifying the distribution of UKM/IKM where without correct mapping it will be difficult for decision makers to provide guidance that can increase the economic growth of UKM/IKM. The results of this study are a Geographic Information System (GIS) which shows a mapping of the distribution of UKM/IKM in Banten province based on the type of business. From the results of the mapping it is concluded that UKM/IKM with culinary types are concentrated in the city centre of both Cilegon City and also Serang City while UKM/IKM with craft business are concentrated in the suburbs.
