Abstract

Has done research for the purpose of to determine Has done research for the purpose of to determine the relationship between the understanding of the concept of students with the ability to solve problems of Newton's laws class X student of SMA Negeri 1 Angkola Barat in the academic year 2017, the second, to determine how much stronger relationship understanding of the concept with the ability to solve problems of Newton's laws class X SMA Negeri 1 Angkola Barat in the academic year 2017, the third, to know how big contribution to the understanding of the concept of the ability to solve problems of newton's laws of class X student of SMA Negeri 1 Angkola Barat in academic year 2017. This research was conducted in SMA Negeri 1 Angkola Barat with the population of all students in class X IPA at SMAN 1 Angkola Barat and a sample was taken 30 students of class X IPA 2 by using purposive sampling mehtod. Research using correlation method and data were analyzed by statistical methods. The study used a data collection tool that tests Understanding Concepts and Problem Solving Ability Test Physics. The study used data collection tool is calibrated through validity and reliability test. The results of the study there is a relationship between students' understanding of the concept with the ability to solve problems of Newton's laws of class X student of SMA Negeri 1 Angkola Barat Academic Year 2017. After koefien consult with the correlation table "r" of Pearson Product Moment, turned out rhit > rtab. Both at the level of 0.01 (1%) and 0.05 (5%), ie 0.975> 0.361 and 0.975> 0.463. While, testing the significance turns thit > ttab ie 23.44> 1.9958. While, the contribution of variable X to variable Y by 95.06%.

Abstract

In the era of development of science and technology until 2019 it has become increasingly sophisticated and makes life easier for humans. This progress has led to increasingly sophisticated technology with the intention of making life easier, practical, efficient and not experiencing much difficulty. But the development of these technologies, have positive and negative impacts. Positive impacts such as convenience, while negative impacts such as air pollution. Contamination of pollutants into the air resulting from factory activities, power plants and motor vehicles spread to the environment. This substance is very damaging to the environment which causes the air we breathe to be polluted and very influential on health. This study aims to describe the process of spreading pollutant concentrations in the air originating from factory chimney fumes. Pollutants that spread in the air can be modeled with the dispersion gauss model which is processed using the MATLAB programming language. The expected results from modeling are the distance of the highest pollutant concentration area and the range of pollutant coverage that spread, so that later will be done variations of the effective height of the chimney emission (H) to get results that vary according to the height of the chimney.

Abstract

Media pembelajaran e-learning dibuat untuk meningkatkan keefektifan pembelajaran pada materi fisika. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui peningkatan kreativitas siswa melalui penerapan media pembelajaran berbasis e-learning serta meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Angkola Timur. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang terdiri dari 2 Siklus. Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) ini menggunakan model penelitian Kurt Lewin. Alur penelitian terdiri dari (1) Perencanaan,(2) Tindakan, (3) Observasi (4) Refleksi. Data penelitian diperoleh menggunakan lembar observasi kreativitas siswa, wawancara dengan guru mata pelajaran fisika, dokumentasi dan dengan tes hasil belajar. Data verbal hasil observasi, dokumentasi dan wawancara dianalisis menggunakan teknik deskriptif kualitatif dan hasil tes menggunakan deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran berbasis e-learning dapat meningkatkan kreativitas dan hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran Hukum Newton. Peningkatan keativitas belajar siswa dari setiap indikator meningkat. Peningkatan kreativitas siswa dapat dilihat dari hasil penelitian yang menunjukkan rata-rata presentase pada siklus I pertemuan pertama sebesar 56,4% dan pertemuan kedua sebesar 71,32%. Rata-rata peningkatan kreativitas siswa pada siklus II pertemuan pertama sebesar 83,65% dan pertemuan kedua sebesar 89,78%. Sumbangan efektif dengan penerapan media pembelajaran berbasis e-learning menunjukan bahwa kreativitas siswa pada mata pelajaran fisika berubah sebesar 72,19%.

Abstract

The success of the world of education is determined by the quality of good learning. Successful learning can be seen from the increase in cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects. To improve the quality of learning, various learning models and the use of learning technology media are implemented. In this study, the learning model implemented is the SETS learning model (science, environment, technology, and society) by connecting technology with science and its implications for society and the environment. The purpose of this study was to determine how the effect of the implementation of the SETS learning model on the activities and learning outcomes of physics students in class XI MIA-2 SMA Negeri 3 Sibolga. This research was conducted using classroom action research (CAR) which consisted of 2 cycles and before the first and second cycles, the learning was carried out using the lecture method. From the results of the study, it was found that the student's learning activity in each cycle increased with the high category. The average value of students is 62.47 at the meeting with the lecture method. In the first cycle there was an increase of 6.81 points to 69.28 and in the second cycle there was also an increase of 9.36 points to 78.64. Students' learning mastery has increased from before SETS learning was carried out, from 32 students of class XI MIA-2 SMA Negeri 3 Sibolga it was found that the number of students who completed was 40.875%, increased in the first cycle to 65.625% and in the second cycle to 90.625%. Learning implementation SETS has a significant effect on increasing the activity and learning outcomes of physics class XII students of MIA-2 SMA Negeri 3 Sibolga which is applied in 2 cycles and observed in every meeting.

Abstract

This study discusses the improvement of the ability to form physics hypotheses of class XI students of SMA 3 Sibolga through the Mastery Learning model in statistical fluid material. This type of research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) consisting of 2 cycles. The research subject was class XI IPA 2 which tested 30 people. Learning Tools used in this study are Learning Implementation Plans (RPP), Teacher's Guidebook (BPKS), Student Worksheets (LKS), Test Instruments, Observation Sheets, and activities. While the test used is an essay form test that has been tested with the reliability of the first cycle test of 0.74 with a high level of reliability and the second cycle test of 0.89 with a high level of reliability. And both tests each have 5 valid questions. The results showed that the test results formulated the students' hypotheses by applying the Mastery Learning model in the first cycle obtained a fairly good percentage of 66.67% and in the second cycle increased to 83.32% with the indicators succeeding in getting 80%. Then for the results of observations of activities in the first cycle obtained levels of student activity of 69.63% "Enough" and in the second cycle there was an increase in student activity to 88.63% "Good", Indicators of achieving activities in cycle II also produced 80%.

Abstract

The research had done in sixth (VI) semester students of Physics Education Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, University of Graha Nusantara Padangsidimpuan 2018/2019 Academic Year, the total is 20 people. Researchers applied PhET Simulation Interactive based learning by using computers with modern physics material. The type of research is Classroom Action Research that conducted in two cycles. The purpose of this study was to find out the increasing of understanding student concepts through the application of PhET-based learning media, due to the learning of Modern Physics and it was hoped that students would be able to follow the development of knowledge and technology, one of them is nanotechnology. The learning media that used in this study are Lesson Plan (RPP), Instruments, student activity observation sheets, and observation sheets of the lecturers’ ability to manage learning. Furthermore the test and activity of observation sheet were used to determine the level of students' understanding of the physics concept. The test that used is an essay test that had been tested with the reliability of the first cycle test is 0.79 and the second cycle test is 0.83 with a high level of reliability. Both tests have 5 valid questions. The conclusions of this study are (1) The use of PhET simulation-based learning media can improve the understanding of students’ physics concepts in modern physics subjects. (2) The use of PhET simulation-based learning media can improve the ability of lecturers to manage learning in PhET simulation subject at UGN Padangsidimpuan.

Abstract

Telah dilakukan kajian magnetoresistansi (MR) pada nanopartikel magnetit (Fe3O4) yang dienkapsulasi dengan poliethilen glikol (PEG)-4000 dan biomolekul menggunakan sensor lapisan tipis berbasis giant magnetoresistance (GMR). Lapisan tipis yang digunakan adalah Si/Cr(5nm)/[Co(1,5nm)/Cu(x)]20/Cr(5nm) multilayer (x = 0,8; 0,9; dan 1,0 nm).  Fenomena GMR dipengaruhi oleh variasi ketebalan lapisan tipis dan pelapisan nanopartikel Fe3O4 yang dienkapsulasi dengan PEG dan penambahan biomolekul yang mengganggu mobilitas momen magnetik material. Resistansi pada ketebalan lapisan tipis Cu 0,8; 0,9; dan 1,0 nm ketika H=0  masing-masing 3,7; 3,5; dan 2,7 Ohm dan ketika H=599,7 G masing-masing 3,5; 3,2; dan 2,3 Ohm. Nilai MR ketika lapisan tipis dilapisi nanopartikel Fe3O4, Fe3O4 yang dienkapsulasi dengan PEG, dan Fe3O4 yang dienkapsulasi dengan PEG dan penambahan biomolekul masing-masing mengalami perubahan yang berbeda. Perubahan nilai MR pada lapisan tipis multilayer sebelum dan setelah pelapisan nanopartikel menunjukkan bahwa lapisan tipis Co/Cu multilayer dapat diaplikasikan sebagai sensor medan magnet dan potensial sebagai biosensor.

Abstract

The development of increasingly sophisticated technology requires every individual to be able to understand and apply this technology in everyday life. For this reason, higher creativity is needed in order to be able to think creatively in discovering new things, be it new methods or works and especially being able to solve the problems at hand. Thus, in lectures every student is required to be able to understand lecture material well so that it can be practiced in his life later. One of the methods used to solve this problem, in this study, will be learning using the STEAM method through Project Based Learning (PjBL) for students in semester II (two) of the civil engineering study program. PjBL-based STEAM learning is expected to foster student creativity, especially in creating new works through a project being worked on. The purpose of this study was to find out how effective the use of the PjBL-based STEAM learning method was at the student level, and to find out how student creativity was after the action, whether it increased or not. The research method used is the class action method. Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that the application of the PjBL-based STEAM learning method was feasible for use in the learning process and it was suggested that it could be implemented for further learning. Student creativity has increased through the application of STEAM. This can be seen from the increase in the percentage of student skills for each component observed, namely 12.38% from cycle I in the fairly good category to cycle II in the good category.

Abstract

Currently the development of science and technology is very rapid in supporting human activities both in the fields of industry, agriculture, education, health, and so on. The people of Sibiobio village who tend to farm and are still lacking in utilizing the development of science and technology, especially in the fields of agriculture and education, need training activities. Given the importance of the role of science and technology in improving the welfare of the community, one of the goals of this community service is to improve human resources in the village. This service activity is carried out by conducting a survey first to find out the main problems in the area. Then an agreement was made on the time of the activity, and the main targets in the implementation of this training activity were Naposo nauli Bulung (NNB) and several village and community officials. Training activities are carried out by providing material with powerpoints, carrying out demonstrations, as well as direct practice or training to participants. Indicators of success in this training activity are the participants' responses to the activities, participants' understanding of the material and the use of science and technology, behavior change, and improvement in organization. Based on the evaluation, it was concluded that the participant's response was very high and it was hoped that there would be activities again with different topics. The participants became more aware of how to use it and some NNBs were able to develop science and technology to support their daily activities. Based on this, indirectly also changing the behavior of the participants and changing a monotonous organization to be useful with many activities to be carried out.

Abstract

Pemanfaatan teknologi informasi saat ini sangat berpengaruh terhadap sektor pendidikan. Penguasaan komputer di kalangan sekolah masih terlihat minim terutama dalam mengoperasikan software Microsoft Office. Pengabdian masyarakat ini dilaksanakan di MTs YPKS Padangsidimpuan yang bertujuan untuk mengenalkan Microsoft Excel sebagai alat bantu pembelajaran Matematika yang dilaksanakan di MTs YPKS Padangsidimpuan. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini dilakukan terhadap siswa kelas 12 MTs YPKS Padangsidimpuan dengan bentuk pelatihan. Materi pelatihan yang diberikan meliputi pengenalan Microsoft Excel sebagai alat bantu pembelajaran matematika khususnya pada materi statistika. Pengabdian masyarakat yang dilaksanakan di MTs YPKS Padangsidimpuan ini menghasilkan peningkatan kemampuan dan keterampilan siswa dalam menggunakan Microsoft Excel pada materi Pengolahan data, analisis data dan pembuatan diagram statistika, sehingga dengan pelatihan ini siswa memperoleh keteramilan dan kompetensi baru tentang penyelesaian permasalahan dalam materi matematika
