Abstract

The problem raised in this study lies in the fact that many students still lack independent attitude skills. This problem was clearly seen during the implementation of the Pancasila student profile strengthening project at SDN 1 Kemawi . Based on the results of pre-research interviews, SDN 1 Kemawi implemented three Pancasila student profile strengthening project themes, each of which targeted the independence dimension as one of the main focuses. Independence is one of the most important characteristics that an individual can have. For students, independence plays an important role in their academic journey, because those who learn independently are able to achieve their educational goals without relying on help from peers. At SDN 1 Kemawi , one of the main efforts to foster independent character is through the implementation of the Pancasila student profile strengthening project. This study was conducted to support the project's goal of improving students' independent attitudes. This study uses a descriptive method through a qualitative approach, which was conducted at SDN 1 Kemawi Somagede . The subjects of the study included the Principal, Grade IV teachers , and Grade IV students .Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Analysis involved data reduction, presentation, and drawing conclusions. The findings showed that the project was successful in improving the independence of Grade IV students. Challenges that emerged during the implementation were handled effectively by the teachers.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the relationship between reading skills and physical appearance of elementary school students, especially hair and nail conditions. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, this study involved 50 male elementary school students who were selected purposively from various backgrounds. The variables observed included reading skill level (low, medium, high) as well as hair condition (long or short, clean or dirty) and nails (well-groomed or unkempt). The results of the analysis showed a significant correlation between reading skills and students' physical appearance. Children with well-groomed hair and nails tend to have higher reading skills compared to children whose physical hygiene is less considered. This finding underlines the importance of non-academic factors, such as personal hygiene, in supporting students' cognitive development and academic achievement. Therefore, schools and parents are advised to be more active in paying attention to aspects of physical hygiene as an integral part of the strategy to improve the quality of learning, especially in developing reading skills.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the learning focus of grade 1 students of SDN 2 Pamijen Baturraden through innovative media in the form of interactive focus cards. The lack of focus behavior that commonly occurs in early childhood students is caused by internal factors such as immature cognitive development, as well as external factors such as a less supportive learning environment. Interactive focus cards are designed to overcome this problem by combining visual, tactical, and game elements to attract attention and increase student engagement. The study used a qualitative approach, conducted during four meetings with 20 students as subjects. The results of the study are expected to describe the effectiveness of this media in improving learning concentration and becoming an innovative alternative for teachers. In addition, this media integrates 21st century educational values such as critical thinking (HOTS), collaboration, and communication. It is hoped that this study will contribute to improving the quality of learning and become a reference for similar research in the future.

Abstract

Character education in elementary schools is important but requires effective strategies to foster sustainable reading habits. This study aims to analyze the strengthening of reading habits through reading corners in elementary schools. This type of research is qualitative with a case study method. The study was conducted at SDN Patimuan 01 Cilacap with subjects of 4 teachers, 6 students in grades IV–VI, and 1 principal. Data were collected using observation, interviews, and documentary studies. Data were analyzed interactively with the stages of data condensation, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Data were checked for validity through triangulation of sources and techniques. The results of the study indicate that the strengthening of reading habits in elementary school students developed significantly through the use of planned and contextual reading corners. Five main characters were formed, including (1) discipline through the habit of reading regularly according to schedule and consistent teacher guidance; (2) curiosity by exploring reading content; (3) critical reasoning through in-depth understanding, reflection, and creative projects; (4) independence emerged when having the initiative to choose their own books, write reviews, and recommend reading to friends; and (5) responsibility through positive attitudes towards reading, such as returning books on time, keeping the reading corner clean, and respecting friends' books. This emphasizes that the reading corner is not just a literacy facility but a strategic tool in forming a character that loves reading in a sustainable manner. Support from schools, parents, and the social environment is important for building a sustainable literacy ecosystem so that students' reading habits and literacy behavior develop consistently at school and at home.
