Abstract

Dose Test and Application Ways Biofungiside Bacillus sp. Against White Root Fungi(Rigidoporus lignosus) on Rubber of Plants in the Nursery. This study aims to determine the effectof dose and ways application biofungiside with of Bacillus sp. against white root fungi(Rigidoporus lignosus) on rubber of plants in the nursery, as well as determine the effect of thewhite root fungi disease on the bud tall of rubber stump. The research was conducted usingRandomized Block Design (RAK) factorial consisting of two factors and 4 replications. The firstfactor, namely P0: control, P1: 20ml/1 liter water, P2: 30ml/1 liter water, P3: 40ml/1 liter water andthe second factor A1 (spraying) and A2 (deeping). The result showed the dose treatment containedthe highest intencity of the attacks on the P0 of 88,54% and lowest in P3 at 20,83%. Waysapplication treatment intensity of the attacks on the A1 of 35,94% and A2 at 54,69%. Interactionsof dose and ways application of the highest intensity of attacks are on P0A2 of 89,59% and lowestin P3A1 at 6,25%. The highest bud tall on dose treatments contained in P3 of 17,78 cm, the lowestin the P0 of 3,52 cm. Ways application treatment in A1 of 14,78 cm and A2 of 9,87 cm.Interactions in the bud tall of dose and ways application was highest in P3A1 of 21,04 cm, thelowest in P0A2 of 3,00 cm.

Abstract

Epizootic study of Metarhizium anisopliae against Larvae Tritip in greenhouse.                            The objective of this experiment to know the effectiveness of the mechanism of transmission of the fungi M. anisopliae  by larvae tritip in greenhouse. The research was conducted in Greenhouse Crops Research Institute for Tropical Fruit Tongkoh-Berastagi. The research used non-factorial completely randomized design with 5 treatments and 4 replications, which were: control(without infected by M. anisopliae), 5 larvae are infected by (5g, 10g,15g, 20g)/100ml M. anisopliae are transmitted to 5 healthy  larvae. The results showed that the concentration addition  of each suspension fungi M. anisopliae  increased the mortality of larvae infected directly by immersion, mortality is transmitted. The concentration addition of the suspension  fungi M. anisopliae increased transmission between larvae infected directly  immersion method to healthy larvae and can also reduce the intensity of the attacks tritip larvae. The highest percentage of larvae mortality infected directly immersion method was 52,5%. The highest percentage of transmitted larvae  mortality was 32,5% . The highest percentage of entirely larvae mortality was 95% . The highest percentage of larvae  was growed by fungi was 92,5%. The  highest percentage of damage was 59.25%.   Key words : Epizootic, biological control, Plutella xylostella L, Metarhizium anisopliae.

Abstract

The Ability of Cecopet (Forficula auricularia) (Dermaptera: Nisolabididae) on some  Instar of Spodoptera litura F. (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) in the Laboratory. The objective was to study the ability of Cecopet (F. auricularia) on some instar of S. litura. The research conducted at the Insect Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Sumatera Utara, Medan, from Agustus to  September 2012. The method of this research was Randomized Complete Design Non Factorial with eight treatments (control with 2st and 4th instar, 2 males cecopet, 2 female cecopet, a pair on 10 larvae 2nd and 4th instar/stoples) with three replications.The results showed that the highest percentage of mortality was C2 (2 female cecopet on 10 larvae/ stoples) is 96,67% and the lowest was C02 (control with 4th instar) is 0%.   Keywords : Forficula auricularia, Spodoptera litura, mortality

Abstract

The effect of botanical insecticides seeds powder againts pest of kumbangCallosobruchus chinensis L. (coleoptera: bruchidae) for the green bean seeds.The objective of this research was to knew the effectiveness of some botanical insecticides onmortality C. chinensis, and green bean seeds weight decrease. The experiment was conductedin the Laboratory Plant Pests, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Sumatra Utara, Medan.Using a completely randomized design (RAL) non factorial with 10 treatments wereF0 (control), F1 (5gr jatropha seeds), F2 (10gr jatropha seeds), F3 (15gr jatropha seeds),F4 (5gr soursop seeds), F5 (10gr soursop seeds), F6 (15gr soursop seeds),F7 (5gr noni seeds), F8 (10gr noni seeds) and F9 (15gr noni seeds) per 500gr of bean greenseeds with three replications. The results showed that 15gr jatropha seeds is the mosteffective in increased mortality imago C. chinensis (93.33%), and green bean seeds weightdecreased as low as (0.37%). The followed by treatments of 15gr soursop seeds, 10grjatropha seeds, 10gr soursop seeds, and 15gr noni seeds, while treatments of5gr jatropha seeds, 5gr soursop seeds, 5gr and 10gr noni seeds less effective.Keywords : Callosobruchus chinensis, botanical insecticides, green bean seeds.

Abstract

The effectivity of some entomopathogenic imago cocoa fruit borerConopomorpha cramerella Snellen (Lepidoptera: Gracillariidae) in the Laboratory. Theobjective of this research was to evaluate the effectifity of entomophatogen (B. bassiana,M. anisopliae and P. fumosoroseus) with different concentration level. The experiment wasconducted at the Laboratory Plant Pests, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Sumatra utara,Medan. From August to October 2012, using a completely randomized design (RAL) nonfactorial of 7 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments were L0 (control),L1 (M. anisopliae 40gr/1l), L2 (M. anisopliae 50gr/1l), L3 (B. bassiana 40gr/1l),L4 (B. bassiana 50gr/1l), L5 (P. fumosoroseus 40gr/1l), and L6 (P. fumosoroseus 50gr/1l).The results showed that 50gr/1l M. anisopliae is effective to control imago C. cramerella(100%), followed by treatments B. bassiana 50gr/1l, M. anisopliae 40gr/1l, andP. fumosoroseus 50gr/1l, the high number of imago C. cramerella overgrownentomopathogenic fungus colony found in 50gr/1l M. anisopliae (60%), followed bytreatments of P. fumosoroseus 50gr/1l, M. anisopliae 40gr/1l, B. bassiana 50gr/1l,B. bassiana 40gr/1l, while P. fumosoroseus 40gr/1l is less effective, and the behavior of deathimago C. cramerella entomopathogenic fungus infected seen with characteristic imago beinglazy move, the longer the body becoming limp and dead, and that eventually hardenedmycelium covered by different colors namely M. anisopliae has green colour, B. bassiana haswhite colour, P. fumosoroseus has yellowish white colour.Keywords : entomopathogenic, cocoa, Conopomorpha cramerella

Abstract

ABSTRACTResearch on title the utility beauveria bassiana and bacillus thuringiensis to controlplutella xylostella L. (lepidoptera: plutellidae) in the laboratory. The research was to study theeffectivity of B. bassiana and B. thuringiensis as biological agens to control P. xylostella oncabbage in laboratory. The research was conducted at the Insect Laboratory, Agriculture Faculty,University of Sumatera Utara, Medan since May–December 2012. The method of this research wasRandomized Complete Design Non Factorial with seven treatments (control, B. thuringiensis 5 g/l,B. thuringiensis 10 g/l, B. thuringiensis 15 g/l,B. bassiana 5 g/l, B. bassiana 10 g/l, B. bassiana15 g/l) with three replications. The parameters were the percentage of mortality and the change ofmorphology larva. The results showed that B. thuringiensis and B. bassiana effective to controlP. xylostella, the using of B. thuringiensis result the highest percentage of mortality was 93.33% on10 g/l and the lowest was 53.33% on 5 g/l, the using of B. bassiana result the highest percentage ofmortality was 86.67% on 10 g/l and the lowest was 53.33% on 5 g/l.Keywords : Plutella xylostella, Beauveria bassiana, Bacillus thuringiensis

Abstract

“The Effectiveness of Botanical Insecticides Test to Mortality the Leptocorisa acuta Thunberg.(Hemiptera : Alydidae) on rice plant in Greenhouse”. The research was held at the Greenhouse OfAgriculture Faculty University of North Sumatera, Medan since June – August 2013. The methodof this research was Completely Randomized Design Non Factorial with 8 treatments and 3replications. Treatments being tested is K0 (control), A1, A2, A3 (25, 50, 75 ml tuba rootextracts/litre of water), T1, T2, T3 (25, 50, 75 ml tobacco extracts/litre of water), and AT (50 mltuba root extracts/litre of water + 50 tobacco extracts/litre of water). The parameters includethe percentage of mortality pest and the death of imago. The result showed that the most effective ofbotanical insecticides was found in treatment AT (100%) at 3 days after application, followed by T3(100%) at 4 days after application and T2 (96,67%) and A3 (95%) at 5 days after application, andless effective was found in A1 (81,67%) and T1 (88,33%) at 5 days after application, and on the 6days after application all botanical insecticides treatmens has show 100% mortality. The death ofimago is the fastest in treatments AT, T3, T2, A3, A2 and T1 occurred at 1 day after planting, andlongest are on treatments A1 occurred at 2 day after planting.Keyword: botanical insectisides, L. acuta, mortality, the time death

Abstract

Research on title The Effectivity of Some Entomopathogenic on the Larvae Oryctes rhinoceros L.(Coleoptera: Scarabaeidae) in the Laboratory". The objective of this research was to know theeffectifity of entomopathogenic (Bacillus thuringiensis, Beauveria bassiana, and Metarhiziumanisopliae) with different level of concentration. The research was conducted at the InsectLaboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Sumatera Utara, From July to August 2013, usinga randomized complete design (RAL) non factorial with ten treatments (control, B. thuringiensis 25,50, and 75 g/l, B. bassiana 25,50, and 75 g/l, M. anisopliae 25, 50, and 75 g/l) with threereplications. The results showed that the highest percentage (100%) of mortality larvae in thetreatment B. thuringiensis 75 g/l and the lowest (50,71%) in B. bassiana 25 g/L. The highestpercentage (100%) of larvae infected with entomopathogenic in treatment B.thuringiensis 75 g/l, B.bassiana 75 g/l, M. anisopliae 75 g/l , and the lowest (72,93%) in treatment B. bassiana 25 g/L. Thedeath behavior of larvae O. rhinoceros infected entomopathogenic characterized by the larvaebecome slow, decreased of appetite, and have a different colors.Key Words: Oryctes rhinoceros, entomopathogenic, mortality
