Abstract

The demand for water spinach is increasing but this commodity is not cultivated intensively. Theexperiment aims was to know the optimal interaction of harvest interval and application urea toincrease and maintain production of water spinach. Research was conducted to determine theoptimal effect of application urea and harvest interval to the regrowth and production of waterspinach at Tanjung Raya street, Medan Helvetia on January-June 2014 using split plot design withtwo factors, the factors were dose of urea (0;25;50;75g/plot/season) and harvest interval (every 8,10, 12 days after the first harvest). The parameters observed were shoots numbers, shoots length,primary and secondary branches number, fresh weight, consumable fresh weight per sample andproduction per plot. The results showed that the application urea with 75g/plot/season is better than0, 25 and 50 g/plot/season at the same time harvest interval treatment with 8 days is better than 10and 12 days after the first harvest.Key words : water spinach, urea, harvest interval.

Abstract

Nutrient conten of the soil and rubber produced by giving empty oil palm fruit bunches and the number of biopori holes. Rubber is a kind of plant which is important and can increase income and social prosperity. This research cond ucted at Silau Dunia garden PTPN III Serdang Bedagai on August – December 2014 by using random missed block design with two factors. The first factor is empty oil palm bunches contained : 0, 1, 2 and 3 kg for each biopori and the second factor is the number of holes consisted : 4, 8 and 12, With three replication. The results of this research showed that interaction application empty fruit bunch and number of biopori increase of N soil, N leaf and Cholorofil number.Keywords: Biopori, palm empty bunches, RubberABSTRA

Abstract

This research aim toknow kinds of media sawdust most excellent and NPK fertilizer dosage most appropriate for the production of white oyster mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus). This research was conducted in mushroom oyster mushroom STM 1 Street, District of Johor Medan, Medan with altitude of 25 meters above sea level. The research was conducted from May to September 2014 using A Factorial Complete Randomized Design (CRD) with two factors, namely kinds of media sawdust: M1 (rubber wood), M2 (sawdust kemiri), M3 (sawdust coconut) and NPK: P0 (without fertilizer), P1 (5,6 g NPK/baglog), P2 (11,2 g NPK/baglog), P3 (16,8 g NPK/baglog). Parameters observed were age began to harvest mushrooms, mushroom stalk length, diameter mushroom hood, thick mushroom hood, the amount of hood / cluster, fresh weight mushroom / harvest, fresh weight mushroom / baglog and biological efficiency ratio (BER). Research results show that the kinds of media sawdust significant effect on all parameters. NPK fertilizer significant effect on stalk length parameter mushroom, mushroom hood diameter, fresh weight mushroom / harvest, fresh weight mushroom / baglog, and biological efficiency ratio (BER). Research results show of media rubber wood and without NPK fertilizer is the most excellent treatment in increasing the growth and production of oyster mushrooms.Keywords :White Oyster Mushroom, Media Sawdust, NPK Fertilizer

Abstract

This research was conducted to obtain dose of municipal waste compost and P fertilizer which can improve the growth and production of the soybean. The research was conducted at experimental field of Agricultural Faculty of Sumatera Utara University, Medan which about ± 25 metres above sea level, begun from April to July 2015 using factorial randomized block design with two factors, i.e: doses of municipal waste compost (0 g/plant, 15 g/plant, 30 g/plant, and 45 g/plant) and doses of P fertilizer (0 g/plant, 1.5, and 3 g/plant). Parameters observed were plant height, stem diameter, number of books per plant, number of pods per plant, number of pods per plant lists, number of seeds per plant, seeds per plant weight, weight 100 seeds, and production of seeds per plots. The results showed that application of municipal waste compost significantly affected stem diameter at 2, 4, 5 weeks after planting,production of seeds per plots. Application of P fertilizer significantly affected number of pods per plant lists, number of seeds per plant, and seeds per plant weight. Interaction between aplication of municipal waste compost and P fertilizer not significantly affected on all parameters of observation.

Abstract

The objective of this research was acquired of effect on addition of liquid fertilizer of growth and production of mustard greens. Therefor, research has been conducted at experimental field of Agriculture USU (± 25 m asl.) in August-September 2014 using a randomized block design with one factor. that was addition of liquid fertilizer consist of control, basic fertilizer (urea, SP36, KCl), organic liquid fertilizer (1, 2 and 3 ml/l water per plant) and anorganic liquid fertilizer (1, 5, 3, and 4,5 ml/l water per plant). The results showed that 2 and 3 weeks after planting (MST) of plant height, 2, 3, and 5 MST of leaf total, fresh root weight, sell fresh weight be significantly different of addition liquid fertilizer. We recommend that basic fertilizer should be given on mustard greens cultivation, because the results on growth and production of mustard greens was well.Keywords : Mustard Greens, Fertilizer, Liquid Fertilizer

Abstract

Permintaan bawang merah terus meningkat sejalan dengan peningkatan jumlah penduduk dan kebutuhan konsumsi bawang merah masyarakat.Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Desa Tanjung Anom, Perumahan Purwojoyo mulaibulanNovember2015 sampai dengan Januari 2016, menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok dengan 2 Faktor perlakuan. Faktor pertama adalah Konsentrasi air kelapa {(25% (250ml air kelapadalam 750 ml air); 50% (500 ml air kelapa dalam 500 ml air); 75% (750 ml air kelapa dalam 250 ml air); 100% (1000 ml air kelapa)}dan faktor kedua yaitu Lama perendaman (2, 4 dan 6 jam). Parameter yang diamati adalah panjang tanaman, jumlah daun per rumpun, jumlah siung per sampel, bobot basah umbi per sampel, bobot  basah umbi per plot, bobot kering  jual umbi per sampel, dan bobot kering jualumbi per plot. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konsentrasi air kelapa tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap semua parameter pengamatan. Lama perendaman berpengaruh nyata terhadap tinggi tanaman 2, 3, 4, 6 dan 7 MST bobot basah  umbi per sampel, bobot basah umbi per plot , bobot kering jual umbi per plot. Interaksi antara konsentrasi air kelapa  dengan lama perendaman tidak ada interaksi terhadap semua parameter pengamatan.

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui respons pertumbuhan dan reproduksi Ubi Jalar terhadap tinggi bedengan dan dosis pupuk kandang ayam. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di lahan masyarakat Tanjung Anom Kecamatan Medan Sunggal dengan ketinggian tempat ± 25 meter di atas permukaan laut, mulai bulan September 2015 sampai Januari 2016, menggunakan Rancangan Petak Terpisah dengan 2 Faktor perlakuan. Petak utama adalah tinggi bedengan dengan 3 taraf yaitu (20, 30, dan 40) dan anak petak yaitu dosis pupuk kandang ayam dengan 4 taraf yaitu (0, 5, 10, dan 15 ton/ha). Parameter yang diamati adalah pertambahan panjang tanaman, jumlah umbi, diameter umbi, bobot total umbi, dan indeks panen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perlakuan tinggi bedengan berpengaruh nyata terhadap pertambahan panjang tanaman 5 MST. Pemberian dosis pupuk kandang ayam berpengaruh nyata terhadap jumlah umbi, diameter umbi, bobot total umbi, dan indeks panen. Interaksi antara perlakuan tinggi bedengan dengan pemberian dosis pupuk kandang ayam berpengaruh tidak nyata terhadap seluruh parameter pengamatan.   Kata Kunci : ubi jalar, tinggi bedengan, dosis pupuk kandang ayam

Abstract

ABSTRACT The influence of concentration and soaking time of sulfate acid to germination of sugar palm (Arenga pinnata Merr.) seeds. The research was conducted in Laboratory of Seed Technology, Agricultural Faculty, Univesity of Sumatera Utara, Medan, about 25 meters above the sea level started from November 2015 until Januari 2016using Randomized Block Design with two factors, i.e. concentration of sulfate acid with 4 levels : 0 %, 25 %, 50 %, 75 % andsoaking time with 4 levels : 5 minute, 10 minute, 15 minutes and 20 minute. The parameters observed were percentation of germination, germination rate, vigor index, axis embrio+radicule lenght, seedling fresh weight and dry weight. The results showed  that the interaction  between concentration and soaking time of sulfate acid significantly affected to all parameters observed except germination rate parameter. The combination seeds soaked in 75 % sulfate acidfor ten minutes produce the highest percentation of germination, vigor indeks, axis embrio+ radicule length, i.e. 100%, 0.31, 10.42 cm respectively. Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of rainfall and rainy days as well as the correlation of both on Tobacco Crop production in 2012 - 2014 in PTPN II Divisi of Klumpang Hamparan Perak District of Deli Serdang. The analytical method used is multiple linear regression analysis and correlation analysis. The model was tested for feasibility with classic assumption test including normality test, heteroscedasticity test, multicolinearity test, and autocorrelation test by using statistical tools SPSS.v.18 for windows.The results showed that variable rainfall and rainy day have a real effect on alpha 5% (Sig> α 0.05) to increased production of Leaf Tobacco In 2012 - 2014. Correlation results in crop years 2012 - 2014 with two-way analysis at the level of 1% and 5% test showed variable rainfall and rainy days have a strong relationship, real and (positive) direction. Correlation value of rainfall and rainy days in a row is 0.943 (0,005)with a significance value <α 0:01. Variable tobacco production with rainfall and rainy days have a strong relationship but (negative)direction with value correlation -0,926 (0,008) with significance < α 0.01 and -0,811 (0,050) with significance < α 0.05.

Abstract

Potassium Nitrat (KNO3) merupakan salah satu perangsang perkecambahan yang sering digunakan. Air kelapa merupakan larutan yang dapat digunakan untuk mempercepat proses perkecambahan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Teknologi Benih Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Sumatera Utara Medan dengan ketinggian + 25 meter dpl, dari bulan April sampai Mei 2016, menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok dengan 2 faktor perlakuan. Faktor pertama adalah konsentrasi KNO3 dengan 4 taraf yaitu 0%, 0,1%, 0,2%, dan 0,3% faktor kedua konsentrasi air kelapa  dengan 3 taraf yaitu 0%, 50%, dan 100%. Parameter pengamatan adalah persentase perkecambahan, laju perkecambahan, indeks vigor, persentase kecambah normal, persentase kecambah abnormal dan persentase biji tidak tumbuh. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perlakuan konsentrasi KNO3 berpengaruh nyata terhadap parameter persentase perkecambahan, laju perkecambahan biji, indeks vigor, persentase kecambah normal dan persentase biji tidak tumbuh. Perlakuan konsentrasi air kelapa berpengaruh nyata terhadap parameter persentase perkecambahan, indeks vigor, dan persentase kecambah normal dan persentase biji tidak tumbuh. Interaksi konsentrasi KN03 dan air kelapa berpengaruh nyata terhadap parameter persentase perkecambahan, laju perkecambahan biji, indeks vigor, persentase kecambah normal dan persentase biji tidak tumbuh. Peningkatan    viabilitas  biji  delima  dapat  dilakukan  dengan perendaman KNO3 0,1%.
