Abstract

Nutrition and orodental health have significant relationship, especially in children who are experiencing the growth stage. Orodental health requires a balanced nutritional adequacy. Orodental health issues at SDN 1 Ketewel are low, this is supported by data from Puskesmas, as well as the Ketewel area of ​​Ketewel village Puskesmas Pembantu is not affordable to the whole Ketewel village. So as to result in lack of knowledge of nutrition and oradental health, finally affecting orodental health. This school is in dire need of garden of family medicinal plants (TOGA) for orodental health. UKS partners also do not have health books, posters and others about orodental health and other health books, such as nutrition and medicinal plants for oradental health. The implementation of science and technology activities involves counseling, training and mentoring of school students in the prevention of oraldental health. Abstract

The problem of nutritional status of children in Bali Province in general and especially in Denpasar is still a problem. The presence or absence of child nutrition problems in a region not far from the contribution of the role of Posyandu cadres. The aim of this research is to know the factors related to the empowerment of cadres in the achievement of nutrition status program of children under five years old. Cross sectional analytic research design. Research location in West Denpasar District. The research time is conducted for a month. Samples of head of Posyandu cadres, as many as 83 samples. The research instrument used questionnaires on characteristics, knowledge, training, motivation of posyandu cadres and cadre empowerment strategies. Data analysis using univariate and bivariate analysis of chi square test with 95% confidence level at ? = 0.05. Data analysis shows most (63.85%) have enough level of knowledge. Most (90.36%) have already attended nutrition training. The ability of the cadre to motivate most (71.08%) includes enough categories. The result of statistical test showed that there was no correlation between cadres knowledge level (p = 0.853) and training of cadres (p = 0.418) with achievement of nutritional status program of children under five in posyandu, there is relationship of cadre ability motivated with achievement level of nutrition status program at posyandu (p = 0.009). Empowerment strategy of posyandu cadres by applying the strengths while utilizing the opportunities that exist.Keywords: Posyandu cadres, achievement of nutrition program

Abstract

Nutrition, diet and dental health have strong association especially for children who are in the growth and development phase. Healthy and adequate nutrition play vital role to support dental health in children. Dental caries is one of the most frequent chronic infections in children and also has significant connection with nutrition aspect. The behaviour of high sugar food and beverage intake, fast food consumption, and frequent snacks consumption between meals increase the risk of dental caries. Overweight and obesity are also can increase the risk of dental caries in children. Usage of fluoride and xylitol as the prevention of dental caries. Another important prevention steps in reducing the risk of dental caries in children include limiting intake of sugar, fast food, snacks, and soda drink. Problems dental health of children in Indonesia is still a public health problem. Deficiency of energy, protein, vitamins A, C, D, folic acid, minerals Fe, Zn, Ca, P, F cause abnormalities in the teeth. WHO have included F as one of the essential nutrients in the prevention of dental caries. Anticariogenic diet are milk and its products like cheese. Cariogenic diet are carbohydrates that can be fermented by microorganisms such as sweet foods, candy, soda and fast food.

Abstract

This study is about the use of leaves of Balinese ethnomedicinal plants for nutrition and orodental health which was carried out in some places in Bali. This study was carried for three months with the purpose to know the nutrition, the kind and plants species and the leaves of plants to be used as a traditional treatment for nutrition and orodental health. The study was carried out through literature study, confirmation through interview, and observation; and than to the results of this study described descriptively. The recorded data are names of plant as a local name, general name, and scientific name; nutrition content, the leaves of plants to be useful as a traditional nutrition to treat the orodental health. Most parts of the plants used for the traditional orodental nutrition and health are leaves of the plants which most commonly consumed is Piper betle, Saurophus androgyros, Centella asiatica, Jatropha curcas, Pithecelebium dulce, Erythrina orientalis, Hibiscus tiliaceus. The research found that 11 species of leaves of ethnomedicinal plants usually can be used for medicinal treatment for the orodental diseases. The nutritional and antioxidant content of the leaves of the plants for orodental health are chlorophyll, vitamin A, B, C, and mineral Mg, K, Ca, Fe, P.

Abstract

Angular cheilitis or perleche is an inflammation reaction on the corner of the mouth, the condition is characterized by cracks and inflammation on both corners of the mouth. This paper aims to review about diet nutrition management for treatment of angular cheilitis disease. This study used review of descriptive. This study was a review of articles published on an online journal from 2013-2018, with the title of the article related to the research. Etiological factor of angular cheilitis may also vary, which in most cases is caused by nutritional deficiencies. Treatment of angular cheilitisis eliminating the etiology factors, and successful treatment of angular cheilitis depends on the cause topical therapy is likely to fail in nutritional deficiency. Management and treatment of angular cheilitisis with balanced nutrition and diet, especially protein, carbohydrate, vitamin A, B2, B3, B6, B12,C, E, biotin, folic acid and mineral Fe, Zn. Most of the angular cheilitis that occur can heal itself without antimicrobials, body’s defense system should be maintained or increased by administering vitamin supplements or multivitamins.

Abstract

This study is about be use tuber of Bali traditional plants for nutrition and orodental health, were carried out in some place in Bali. This study was carried for three months with purpose to know nutrition, kind and plants species and tuber of plant to be used as a traditional treatment for nutrition and orodental health. The study will carried through literature study, confirmation through interview, and observation; and than to resulting of this study as used as the description method. The data recorded are name of plant as a local name, general name, and scientific name; nutrition and bioactive substance content, the tuber of plant to be useful as a traditional nutrition and bioactive substance to treat the orodental health, with make from tuber. Most parts of the plant used for the traditional orodental nutrition and health is 11 species is the tuber of plant, the most commonly consumed is Curcuma domestica, Caempferia galansa, Curcuma longa, Curcuma purpurascens, Alpinia galanga, Zingiber cassumunar, Zingiber officinale, Zingiber aromaticum, Caempferia rotunda, Ipomoea batatas and Allium cepa. The nutritional content of the tuber of the plant for orodental health is protein, vitamin A, B, C and mineral Mg, K, Ca, Fe, P, I , Na, Zn. The high content of vitamin, mineral, antioxidant and anti-fungi, anti-bacteria and anti-virus in tuber of Bali traditional plants is increase immunity, very good for dental and oral health

Abstract

In Bali, several types of seaweed are generally consumed as low-cost vegetables or salad by the local people and known by local names of jukut and rujak bulung sangu. Jukut and rujak bulung sangu is a very harmonious combination of food, a potential source of nutrients, and antioxidants. Therefore, this study was conducted to review nutrition, general and rodental health benefits of bulung sangu. Bulung sangu have potential nutrient and antioxidants content such as carotenoids, vitamins (A,C,E), fatty acids (omega 3 and 6), carbohydrates, minerals (I, Zn, Fe, Cu, Na, K, Mg, Ca, P and Cr), amino acid and chlorophyll. Carotenoids have an important biological function as an antioxidant and immunostimulatory which can prevent diseases, antiinflammatory, antistress, antiaging, and protect the skin from the harmful effects of ultraviolet radiation. The results of several research stated that total karotenoids and iodium is higher in bulung sangu, and that has significant potency as antistress, anticancer, antiinflammatory, antistroke and antipathogenic bacteria. They also have significant roles as normolipidemic, antidiabetic, antiatherosclerotic, antiosteoporotic, antiaging, and orodental health. The conclusion is that the jukut and rujak bulung sangu is high in nutrients and antioxidants, has the potential to maintain general health as well as orodental health

Abstract

Betel (Piper betle Linn.) is available in most of South and Southeast Asia. Betel leaves has the function of healing wounds in traditional Balinese medicine. This habit of chewing fresh betel leaves which are wrapped together with the areca nut, mineral, catechu and tobacco, is traditionally known as “nginang”. The several research stated that the habit of chewing betel leaf together with tobacco and areca nut has led to oral cancer. This paper aims to inform readers that chewing betel leaf is actually beneficial for health, as long as it is consumed without tobacco and areca nut. This paper focuses on the prevent orodental disease, and COVID-19. This systematic review was conducted through three steps: (1) A search (on Pubmed, Google scholar and other journal databases with published articles from 2009 to 2020); (2) Read the title and abstract of the individual papers; (3) Determine whether these articles were from diverse backgrounds. The nutritional content of the betel leaves for orodental health and anti-COVID-19 are protein, essential oils, carbohydrate, vitamin A, B and C and mineral like Mg, K, Ca, Fe, I, P and Zn. Betel leaves contains potassium potential nutrition and antioxidants including chevibetol and allylpyrocatechol, act as anti-COVID-19. Betel helps to cure various orodental diseases such as mouth cancer, cariogenic, sores, toothache, halitosis etc. The researcher concluded that “nginang”, chewing of fresh young betel leaves without areca nut and tobacco is very good to be continued, because of its many benefits and very good properties, especially for overcoming orodental disease and COVID-19.

Abstract

Dental and oral health can be obtained through health services. One of the institutions that provide first-rate dental and oral health services is the Puskesmas. Puskesmas is a health service facility that organizes public health efforts and first-level individual health efforts, by prioritizing promotional and preventive efforts. Puskesmas need a strategy that is used to improve the quality of health services so that they can improve the health status of the community. This study aims to determine strategies that can be used to improve the quality of health services, especially dental and oral health services. The research was conducted at the UPTD Puskesmas Sukawati II, Gianyar. The method used in this research is research evaluation. Data was collected by interviewing 10 medical and non-medical personnel, as well as stakeholders in the UPTD Puskesmas II, Sukawati Gianyar. The results of this study were analyzed using SWOT analysis to determine the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of the UPTD Puskesmas Sukawati II, Gianyar. The results showed that the position of the UPTD Puskesmas Sukawati II, Gianyar was in the cell or quadrant V, namely, Hold and Maintain. The strategy that can be applied is market penetration and product development, namely a strategy that is carried out without changing the direction of the strategy that has been implemented, meaning that there is no significant change from the previous strategy, where UPTD Puskemas Sukawati II, Gianyar only needs to develop through personal dental and oral health performance. Medical officer one of the strategies that can be done in an effort to improve the dental and oral health of the community in the UPTD Sukawati II, Gianyar Health Center is to continue to serve all patients who come during visiting hours even though they are not the target of the work area by utilizing online registration, maintaining cohesiveness and teamwork, optimizing a suitable location. strategic enough, maintaining a clean and comfortable Puskesmas environment for patients, always reviewing the quality of Puskesmas services, and increasing the use of PPE to avoid exposure to the COVID-19 virus, and always reviewing the competencies possessed by each employee so that they are placed according to their competencies.

Abstract

Introduction:  Dental and oral health has an effect on general health. Orodental disease can be considered asIntroduction: Dental and oral health has an effect on general health. Orodental disease can be considered as a major public health problem. Tulasi (Ocimum sanctum L.) has been acknowledged for their beter remedial value and minimal side effects. Therefore, the purpose of writing this article is to review articles with the theme of uses nutraceutical Tulasi leaf extract for orodental health. Review: Tulasi contains good nutraceuticals, has great potential as an orodental health, such as antimicrobial, antiviral, antiinflammatory, antioxidant, immuno-modulatory activity, because of its role as superior with potential eugenol, linalool, ursolic acid, carracroland, terpenes, rosmarnic acid, and good nutrients such as stearic acid, palmiticacid, oleic acid, linoleic acid, beta carotene, vitamin C, calcium, potassium, zinc, manganese, and sodium. Conclusion: Nutraceuticals Tulasi leaf extract very well used for orodental health, as immunomodulatory, anticancer, antimicrobial, mouthwash, dentifrice, and gel.
