Abstract

Study results from early 2016 across 20 private general hospitals around Medan city, show there are 10 hospitals that have a physician performance measurement. However, the Medical Committee perceived some unknown barriers on measurement of physician performance. Should it be known, the hospitals can improve and enhance physician performance measurement effectively and efficiently. Therefore, this study aims to uncover the barriers on physician performance measurement in Private General Hospitals around Medan city. From the interviews with 10 Medical Committees and 6 document studies in 10 Private General Hospitals around Medan city which have a physician performance measurement, we found that the barriers on physician performance measurement are: unsupportive human resources, improper Medical Committee monitoring, unwillingness of physicians to be assessed, and assessors tendency toward giving moderate and good score. Therefore, we recommended that Medical Committee in each Private General Hospital around Medan or supervisors who will assess the performance of the physicians to attend performance measurement training to minimize biases and errors in filling out the sheet of physician performance measurement. Training should also be followed by an explanation that physicians should treat this performance measurement as a positive thing, because it can help the medical profession improve its professionalism.

Abstract

Community empowerment is the one of efforts that undertaken as part of the health promotion which aimed to improve public health. In general, one of the phenomena of society which are expected to consume vegetables and fruits in balance quantity and quality. Consumption of vegetables and fruits also become the second destination health measures of GERMAS (Gerakan Masyarakat Sehat). Karo is an area that is synonymous with the world of agriculture and many farming communities are vulnerable to disease because of exposure to the working environment, either physical or chemical. The farming community is also almost no health care and more oriented to produce in optimum. In addition, there are many groups that still non-productive and can be developed, one group of wives of farmers. The solution given in service activities to produce the healthy food like a salad of vegetables and fruits with antioxidant power, antisianin and other nutrients that protect and maintain the farmer’s health from several symptoms of illness due to consumption patterns and patterns of work at risk. Devotion done by brainstorming methods, training and demonstration of manufacture of the product with the target groups of farmers wife. Outcomes targeted is a food product healthy namely Salad Pelangi as food is beneficial to balance the body, nourish and protect the health of the body as well as foods that have anti venom and avoid hypertension, heart disease, diabetes, cancer and chemical effects of occupational risks as farmers. Other outcomes in the form of a scientific article and video activities. The content of Salad Pelangi are choosen from the fruits and vegetable that has the rainbow colour such as tomato, carrot, orange, avocado, jelly, yam, and purple cabbage. All of these has the antioxidant function that could be reduce the pesticide toxicity.

Abstract

Saat ini, kompetensi dijadikan sebagai dasar untuk penilaian kinerja perawat di seluruh dunia, sehingga pada tahun 2015 telah dirancang sistem penilaian kinerja yang disusun berdasarkan kompetensi perawat gawat darurat. Namun, perlu dilakukan peninjauan kembali mengenai kevaliditasan sistem penilaian kinerja tersebut. Penelitian kuantitatif ini menggunakan rancangan pre and post-experimental, yang bertujuan memvalidasi rancangan penilaian kinerja berdasarkan kompetensi perawat gawat darurat yang telah dibuat pada tahun pertama. Populasidari RSU Bina Kasih, RSU Malahayati, RSU Martha Friska, RSU Permata Bunda, RSU Sari Mutiara, RSU Deli Medan, dan RSU Imelda ada 63 orang berdasarkan purposive sampling. Penelitian dilakukan dari bulan Januarisampai Oktober 2016. Hasil uji Kolmogorov-Smirnov, sebaran data tidak normal (sig. Sebelum=0,003 <α=0,05 dan Sig. Sesudah = 0,002<α = 0,05). Hasil uji wilcoxon, tidak ada perbedaan antara nilai rangking sebelum dan sesudah diaplikasikannya sistem penilaian kinerja (p=0,959). Oleh karena itu, sistem penilaian kinerja berdasarkan kompetensi perawat gawat darurat di RSU swasta se-Kota Medan dinyatakan valid.

Abstract

Beberapa Rumah Sakit Umum (RSU) di Medan masih ada yang belum memenuhi standar Key Performance Indicator (KPI) IGD, salah satunya adalah RSU Herna Medan. Dibutuhkan sistem penilaian kinerja perawat gawat darurat yang disusun berdasarkan kompetensi, agar mampu memberikan kinerja yang baik. Penelitian deskriptif kualitatif menggunakan studi dokumen dan Focus Group Discussion (FGD). Bertujuan merancang sistem penilaian kinerja berbasis kompetensi perawat gawat darurat di RSU Herna Medan. 8 orang partisipan terpilih untuk mengikuti FGD tanggal 11 Mei 2015.  Analisis isi digunakan untuk data dokumen dan analisis tematik untuk data FGD. Hasil analisa data dokumen, tidak tercantum tujuan penilaian kinerja, penilaian kinerja disusun berdasarkan Task-focused Performance Dimension, cara penilaian dan hasilnya tidak diberitahukan pada perawat yang dinilai. Hasil analisa data FGD, kompetensi perawat gawat darurat di RSU Herna Medan adalah dampak dan pengaruh, mengembangkan orang lain, empati, percaya diri, pengendalian diri, komitmen terhadap organisasi, keahlian teknikal, berorientasi kepada pelanggan, kerja sama kelompok, berfikir analitis, berfikir konseptual, inisiatif, fleksibilitas, kemampuan mengarahkan perintah dan semangat untuk berprestasi. Disarankan pihak manajemen agar menggunakan lembar penilaian kinerja yang telah disusun minimal satu kali dalam 6 bulan.Kata Kunci: Penilaian Kinerja, Kompetensi, Perawat Gawat Darurat

Abstract

ABSTRACTBackground: The main product of Rasyida Medan is haemodialysis treatment that is being responsible of Medical Department, which are Medical Manager, HD room head, HD vice room head, Doctor, Nurse, CAPD, CIMINO, Rontgen and USG, so it must be carried out supervision and performance appraisal well. But there are concern over non-objective supervisor assessments and the performance appraisal document is not based competency. While the competencies necessary to describe the knowledge, abilities, skills and other characteristics needed to do the job. Therefore, we need Spencer competency-based 360º Performance Appraisal System design on Medical Department Rasyida Medan.Objective: To identify competencies of Medical department, so that it has accurate competency mapping, increasing the effectiveness and efficiency of recruitment, education, training and promotion.Methods: This qualitative research is done on March - September 2013. The 21 person participants are chosen based on theory, employee that have Superior and Average performance (2:1.5) and their supervisor. The data collecting by group interview with thematic analysis.Results: Each of Medical Department parts has a level of medical competence and weights vary according to the level of interest in the job. The resulting competence poured into Behavioral codebook and the competency- based 360º Performance Appraisal Sheets.Conclusion: Core competencies are the impact and influence, interpersonal understanding, self-confidence, self-control, organizational commitment, expertise, customer service orientation, teamwork, analytical thinking, conceptual thinking, initiative, flexibility, and directive. Keywords: 360º Performance appraisal, doctor, nurse, haemodialysis, Spencer competency ABSTRAKLatar Belakang: Produk utama klinik Rasyida Medan adalah pelayanan Hemodialisa yang ditanggung jawabi bagian Medis, yaitu Manager Medis, Kepala Ruang HD, Wakil Kepala Ruang HD, Dokter, Perawat, CAPD, CIMINO, Rontgen dan USG, se- hingga harus dilakukan pengawasan dan penilaian kinerja dengan baik. Tetapi muncul kekhawatiran ketidak-objektifan penilaian atasan dan dokumen penilaian tidak berdasarkan kom- petensi. Sedangkan kompetensi perlu untuk menggambarkan pengetahuan, kemampuan, keahlian dan karakteristik lain yang diperlukan untuk mengerjakan pekerjaan. Oleh karena itu perlu dirancang Sistem Penilaian Kinerja 360º Bagian Medis Ber-dasarkan Metode Kompetensi Spencer.Tujuan: Mengidentifikasi kompetensi bagian Medis, sehingga memiliki pemetaan akurat kompetensi bagian Medis, peningkatan keefektifan dan keefisienan rekrutmen, pendidikan, pelatihan dan promosi.Metode: Penelitian kualitatif dengan studi kasus intrinsik ini dilakukan pada bulan Maret - September 2013. Partisipan 21 orang dipilih berdasarkan teori, karyawan superior dan average performance (2 : 1,5) dan atasannya. Pengumpulan data wawancara berkelompok dengan analisis tematik.Hasil : Masing-masing bagian medis memiliki tingkat kompetensi dan bobot yang berbeda-beda sesuai tingkat kepentingan dalam jabatan. Abstract

Descriptive of Knowledge, Attitude and Practise of the Workers at the Production Section About the Implementation of The Occupational Safety and Health Management System (SMK3) in PT Toba Pulp Lestari Porsea Year 2012. The Occupational Safety and Health Management System (SMK3) is the part that can not be separated from the other management activity in an institution of work site or a company, such as production management, human resource management, financial management, etc. This research aims to know the description of knowledge, attitude and workers practices on the production section about the implementation of The Occupational Safety and Health Management System (SMK3) in PT. Toba Pulp Lestari Porsea with descriptive research design. The population of this research was all the workers who work in production section counted 374 people and the samples was taken with proportional random sampling technique from the population that is also the workers who work in production section with amount 80 people. According to the result of this research, that knowledge of the worker about the implementation of The Occupational Safety and Health Management System (SMK3) reside in the good category that is counted 80 people (100 %), the worker attitude about the implementation of The Occupational Safety and Health Management System (SMK3) reside in the favorable category that is counted 80 people (100 %) and worker practice about the implementation of The Occupational Safety and Health Management System (SMK3) reside in the good category that is counted 80 people (100%). It is a recommendation to improving the supervision and development in order to apply The Occupational Safety and Health Management System (SMK3) and to optimize the implementation of The Occupational Safety and Health Management System (SMK3) through training and education. Abstract

Abstract Review the implementation of occupational safety and health protection in the sector of production PT. Wijaya Karya Beton, Binjai on 2013. This research has been done at PT. Wijaya Karya Beton, Binjai company that manufactures precast concrete. To prevent the occurrence of accidents in production management to implement safety and health protection. Under Labour Constitution. 13 In 2003, there are 3 basic aspects of occupational safety and health protection, the protection of economic, social and, technically, the implementation of the basic aspects of occupational safety and health protection is studied.This research method is descriptive qualitative research. Which describes how the implementation of occupational safety and health protection in sector  production. To collect data conducted in-depth interviews with the STAR approach and observations. The population is all part of the production workforce numbered 52 people, with Quota Random Sampling taked 35 participant. This study describes the implementation of economical form of protection has not been given appropriate overtime wages Act. Implementation of social protection in the form of social security is not well understood the contents of the program and its use by workers. Technical protection provided in the form of training, SOP, and the use of PPE, but the workers who run the SOP well only 25 people (71%) and employees who use PPE properly 20 workers (57%) of the 35 participant. Abstract

ABSTRACT Work accidents are mostly caused by unsafe behavior. Behavior Based Safety Program plays an important role to create zero accidents. The implementation of behavior-based safety program is focused to observe the behavior of a process to improve safe work behavior. This study used a descriptive research with cross sectional design approach which aimed to describe the application of behavior-based safety program and work accidents in PT. Inalum Kuala Tanjung year 2013-2014. The samples of this research were all employees which injured in PT.Inalum Kuala Tanjung year 2013 and 2014. The available data were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that the accident happened in 2013 mostly happened in the reduction factory as much as 2 times (40 %) and in 2014 mostly happened in the maintenance as much as 3 times (50%). Work accidents which occurred in 2013 and 2014 mostly caused by unsafe behavior. The application of behavior-based safety program is still new and needs to run a sustainable improvement especially inform improvements of Inalum Secure Card (ISC). The result of the evaluation Inalum Secure Card (IKA) conducted by safety promoter at each department or section each month. But not all safety promoter reported the result of the evaluation Inalum Secure Card (IKA) to section Inalum Internal Control (IIC). The application of Inalum Secure Card (IKA) have not given rewards and sanctions to the workers. Based on the results of the study, PT.Inalum Kuala Tanjung is expected to improve communication about Occupational Health and Safety (OHS), especially regarding the behavior-based safety program so that the workers could care and aware to behave a safety work to create Occupational Safety and Health (OHS) culture.

Abstract

ABSTRACTOccupational Health and Safety is a work in order to safeguard workers are always in safe and healthy workplace for doing the job. K3 must be implanted in the workers themselves in order to have a good perception of the K3 and safe behavior at work.This research was conducted at production workers. PT. Sumpratama Juru Engineering Medan in 2015 to find out how much the correlation between perception on K3 and their behavior in K3 on workers. Type of analytical research using cross sectional design. Total population 63 production section consists of 4 units, 25 person panel unit, 10 person painting unit, 20 person wiring unit, and 8 person quality control, a sample of 39 people, sampling using simple random sampling technique taken from the 4 units. Data was collected by interview using a questionnaire to determine the worker's perception and observation using observation sheet to determine the behavior of workers. To know the great correlation between independent variables with the dependent variable Spearman statistical test.Research results obtained, category K3 safe behavior was found in both categories of perception as much as 19 people (48.7%), lack of perception as much as 4 people (10.3%). Meanwhile, the K3 categories unsafe behavior found in the perception of both categories of 7 people (17.9%), and lack of perception as much as 9 people (23.1%). The test results obtained statistically significant correlation between the perception of health and safety with the behavior of K3 P-value = 0,010, and the magnitude of correlation between perception of health and safety with K3 behavior (r) = 0.405, the value of (r) showed a moderate and patterned positive. This means that the better the perception of safety and health then the better the behavior of workers K3.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Unloading and loading is a job that need physical activity to lift and haul goods. This job have hazard potensial for work accident  and health problems. Therefore, the objective of this research is to assess the hazard of unloading and loading workers at Teluk Nibung Port Tanjung Balai, Asahan. The research was a descriptive survey. The data of work accident and health problems hazard in workers were gathered by HIRA method.The Object of the research was to identify the process in stevedoring, cargoding, and delivery. The result of research in unloading and loading workers at stevedoring showed that the highest hazard were found at worker who opened the boat cover and moved goods from boat to darmaga. In cargoding, the highest hazard were found in low back pain risk at worker and hit when workers bring and stack goods in warehouse. In delivery, the highest hazard was found in worker work in truck machine. The results show the value of the highest risk from the analysis of risk is high with the potential for accidents such as drowning, was hit and fell. The recommended that the cooperative workers unloading create safety signs and provide personal protective equipment to minimize risks. Keyword : Unloading and loading, risk assessment
