Abstract

Abstract

Menopause, a natural phase in women aged 45-55, is marked by a decrease in estrogen, impacting their quality of life. This study investigates factors influencing menopausal quality of life in Indonesia in 2024, focusing on education, husband's support, peer support, physical activity, and anxiety. Utilizing a cross-sectional design, the research sampled 35 menopausal women aged 45-55 through purposive sampling, using a questionnaire for primary data collection and chi-square tests for analysis. Univariate analysis revealed that 60% of participants had a good quality of life. Factors included low education (55.1%), high husband support (65.7%), high peer support (61.2%), moderate physical activity (56.7%), and anxiety (55.1%). Bivariate analysis demonstrated significant relationships between education (p = 0.000), husband's support (p = 0.000), peer support (p = 0.000), physical activity (p = 0.000), and anxiety (p = 0.011) with menopausal quality of life. The findings suggest that education, support systems, physical activity, and managing anxiety are crucial for improving menopausal quality of life. It is recommended that menopausal women enhance their understanding of menopause through various resources to better adapt and improve their quality of life.

Abstract

Cesarean section (Sectio Caesarea) is a medical procedure that often results in postoperative wounds requiring optimal management to support recovery. Early mobilization plays a critical role in accelerating the wound healing process by improving blood circulation and enhancing tissue regeneration. This study aimed to analyze the influence of early mobilization on the healing process in post-cesarean section patients in several hospitals. This quantitative study used a descriptive correlational design with a cross-sectional approach. Data were collected through questionnaires assessing early mobilization practices and direct observation of wound healing indicators. The study involved 40 postpartum mothers who underwent cesarean sections, selected through purposive sampling from four hospitals—Cilincing Hospital, RSIA Bunda Jakarta, RS Mekar Sari Bekasi, and RSU Ibu Pusat Jakarta—during December 2024. Data analysis included univariate (frequency distribution) and bivariate tests using the Chi-Square method. The statistical test showed a significant relationship between early mobilization and wound healing, with a p-value of 0.007 (< 0.05), indicating that early mobilization positively influences postoperative recovery. Patients who engaged in early mobilization exhibited faster wound healing compared to those who delayed movement. In conclusion, early mobilization is proven to be an effective intervention in enhancing the healing process among post-cesarean section patients. The findings highlight the importance of implementing early mobilization protocols as part of standard postoperative nursing care to improve maternal health outcomes.

Abstract

Underweight among children under five remains a major nutritional problem that affects physical growth and cognitive development. One of the non-pharmacological approaches to improve appetite and digestion is Tuina massage, a traditional Chinese therapy that stimulates specific meridian points related to the digestive system. However, empirical evidence on its effectiveness in improving dietary patterns among underweight children is still limited. This study aimed to determine the effect of Tuina massage on improving eating patterns among underweight children under five years old in 2024. This research employed a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest–posttest approach conducted from October to December 2024 across seven health centers in Banten Province, including Cisimeut Health Center, Azzahra Maja Primary Clinic, Pasar Baru Health Center, Tambak Menteng Hospital, Cipanas Inpatient Health Center, and two private midwife clinics (PMB Desy Sri Latipah and PMB Iis Parhati). The Wilcoxon signed-rank test was used to analyze pretest and posttest differences in dietary patterns. Statistical analysis showed a significant improvement in dietary patterns after Tuina massage intervention (p < 0.05) across all study sites. Tuina massage effectively enhances eating behavior among underweight children and may serve as a complementary, non-pharmacological therapy for improving nutritional intake in early childhood.
