Abstract

The paper discusses possible solutions through the Social Development Fund (SDF) scheme to reduce and prevent educated unemployment problems. This paper uses critical discourse involving literature studies such as books, journals, reports, and online media. The findings of the research show that (1) there still a lot of educated workforces unemployed. This happens because of the mismatch between the capabilities and the goals of the industry. Technological advances invented new jobs. Therefore, it requires someone to adapt quickly, let alone the fact that (2) cooperation between ministries and the private sectors is not quite optimal. Other factors are, (3) SDF practices implementation by other countries, (4) resource availability in Indonesia to implement SDF. From this study concluded that SDF is a realistic alternative offer to be implemented in Indonesia, as an ecosystem that is able to ensure that existing sectors work optimally to establish the common goal of reducing the possibility of educated unemployment.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has accelerated technological transformation in education. Online learning has become a new culture in education that brings significant changes in the intersubjective relationship between educational actors, which was originally full of warmth but has now turned into formality due to distance meetings. This research aims to reveal the ways of relationship that occur between teachers and students and their consequences in online learning practices. The study used a phenomenological approach by collecting data through interviews with 11 teachers and 11 students and observing the online learning process conducted through various applications. The results of the study showed a weakening of the intersubjective relationship between teachers and students. Distance meetings have turned into mere formalities and emptiness. The closeness and warmth between teachers and students are diminishing and filled with emptiness. The interactions that exist are filled with deceit and fraud. In online learning, teachers and students negotiate and compromise on the learning to be conducted amidst all the limitations of distance learning. The consequence is widespread pragmatism towards technology, with students feeling lonely and isolated, and academic dishonesty increasing. In the end, there is a restriction of relationships and a tendency to prioritize mechanisms of silence as a compromise for the loss of true reality in the teacher-student relationship.

Abstract

This article seeks to observe the modernization of economic institutions that were originally working traditionally, into alternative economic institutions that continue to apply the value of locality. Previous studies on LPN Limau Manis only discussed its role in poverty alleviation and the management of its economic organization, but did not provide a comprehensive explanation of the transformation of LPN that combines traditional and modern concepts. This article argues that the institutional modernization of LPN Limau Manis that occurs remains attached to the customary values of the Nagari society. The qualitative method was used to collect data using a case study research. This article revealed that the LPN, which underwent a transformation into a modern management system, remained attached to the social conditions of Nagari society as seen from the social profit-based approach. However, the transformation of LPN to an alternative economy also shows an element of local capitalism that

Abstract

This article explores the question of why and how ‘illegal’ artisanal mining in the oil-rich region of Indonesia remains in place despite official bans by the central government. By taking a qualitative ethnographic study on the practice in Sumur Baru, Dusun Tue, a village in South Sumatra Province, our inquiry takes seriously the formation of resilient labor in daily encounters with state institutions. We employ a governmentality approach and show how quotidian interactions between state and community has legitimized practices of artisanal mining. Sites become relatively governable in conditions of continuous displacement through ongoing negotiations between intermediaries (Toke) with state agencies. This practice is made possible by the use of Sen Minyak or oil money that binds Toke as key representatives of the community with police and state apparatuses as disciplinary representatives of the governmental state. This study thus shows how an extractive regime emerges, shifts, and reshapes in the local political economic contexts of Indonesia’s decentralization era.

Abstract

This research explains into the challenges posed by the increasing utilization of Chat generative pre-trained transformer (ChatGPT) in educational settings and proposes solutions to mitigate its potential negative impacts. The widespread adoption of artificial intelligence, exemplified by ChatGPT, in learning environments from elementary to higher education levels, raises concerns about its impact on critical thinking and reflection among students. Through a comprehensive literature review encompassing journals, scientific articles, news, and previous research, this study identifies the challenges associated with ChatGPT’s usage in education in the digital era. One significant challenge is the potential reduction in students’ ability to think critically and engage with reality due to overreliance on ChatGPT for assignments. Moreover, excessive dependence on ChatGPT risks diminishing the quality of human resources in education. To address these challenges, educators need to develop strategies to harness technological advancements effectively while fostering critical thinking skills in students. This research underscores the importance of equipping educators with the necessary skills to navigate the digital landscape and prevent academic dishonesty facilitated by ChatGPT.

Abstract

Post-conflict Aceh, GAM has transformed from a defense movement to a political movement. This transformation caused contestation in internal GAM. GAM versus GAM contestation in regional election contest has started since 2006, 2012, and 2017, but regional election contest in 2017 period is the peak of political fragmentation in Aceh. GAM has split into two local parties namely Partai Aceh (PA) and Partai Nanggroe Aceh (PNA). This article examined the strategy and basis of the two localparties inthe 2017 regional election contest (Pilkada). This article also revealed how these local parties establish an affiliation with the National Party in the 2017 regional election contest. This study used qualitative research methods and data collection techniques using in-depth interview techniques. The results showed that the Partai Aceh has a mass base at the grassroots as well as a militant mass (ex-combatants), while the Partai Nanggroe Aceh had a mass base of civilian GAM besides having a mass base at the grassroots (former combatants). The strategy carried out by each local party was to take religious leaders as symbolic capital to gain votes in the elections. Furthermore, the uniqueness of these two local partiesis they did not release ethnic ethnonationalism as symbols of its identity
