Abstract

Research has been carried out on the identification of betel leaf (Piper sp.) wavenumbers using Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy and Principal Component Analysis (PCA) methods. The kinds of betel leaf used are red betel (Piper Crocatum), green betel (Piper Betle L.), and black betel (Piper Betle V.). Tests were carried out on betel leaf powder with a betel mass ratio of 4:1 KBr, 0.011528 g and 0.002882 g, respectively. The results of characterization by FTIR showed the presence of functional groups C-H, C = O, C = N, C = C, C-N, C-O, and C-Cl on red, green, and black betel leaves. The results of the PCA analysis provide the value of the wave number which is the identity of betel in the range 1670-1679 cm-1 and strengthened by the results of the K-Nearest Neighborhood (KNN) analysis.

Abstract

Research have been conducted about calculating the plasma temperature using Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS), located in Udayana University’s Laboratorium Penelitian Terpadu FMIPA. The calculation of Plasma Temperature is done using the Boltzmann Equation using the emission intensity and area under the curve of two wavelength from Cu neutral atom Cu I 521.82 nm and Cu I 510.55 nm. The intensity of Neutral Cu atom is obtained from focusing the Nd:YAG laser (1064 nm, 7 ns) with 80 mJ energy to the surface of Bras 6s (or 99.99%) slab in the air with 1 atm pressure and Helium gas with 60 mL/s flowrate, which will generate a plasma. The Photon emission from Cu neutral atoms in plasma will be caught by spectrometer HR 2500+ (14.336 CCD pixel, 200-800 nm). The average plasma temperature by delay time detection using intensity and area ratio is (8976.40±160.34) K and (13119.20±435.23) K respectively. In Helium gas, the temperature is (12261.21±419.06) K using intensity ratio and (16882.41±678.18) K using Area ratio.

Abstract

The optical energy gap of anthocyanin compounds from sea lettuce extract (Ulva lactuca L.) has been calculated using the Tauc plot method. Sea lettuce plants taken at Sanur Beach Bali. The sea lettuce was dried then mashed and extracted for 24 hours, the last being macerated through three cycles. The extraction results are then evaporated to obtain a thick extract solution. Extracted and evaporated-extraction samples were characterized by UV-Vis in the wavelength range of 200-800 nm. From the characterization results, it was found that the absorption of anthocyanin compounds for the extracted samples was at a wavelength of 268 and 412 nm. Meanwhile, for the extraction-evaporation sample, the absorption is at a wavelength of 286.5 and 408 nm. By using the Tauc plot method, the optical energy gap values ??for the extracted and extraction-evaporated samples were 2.69 and 2.54 eV, respectively. Therefore, anthocyanin compounds from both extracted and evaporation-extracted samples qualify as dye sensitized solar cells (DSSC) for TiO2 semiconductors.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the empirical formula model of maximum ground acceleration (PGA) in the Bali region by modifying the attenuation constant based on accelerograph data from 2020-2023 obtained from the BMKG Class II Sanglah Geophysical Station. The data used consists of 443 accelerograph recordings from 146 earthquake events, with a coverage area of ??113.51 ° - 115.83 ° E and 12.56 ° - 7.71 ° S. Through linear regression analysis, the empirical PGA model for the Bali region is obtained: log10 PGA = (-1.817) log10 (R) + (0.809) M - 0.089. This model is also compared with the attenuation model from Donovan, Setiawan, and Lin and Wu, with the results showing that the developed model has a very strong correlation of 0.782 between the PGA from observations and the PGA from the model which is included in the very strong category. In addition, the MSE value of 0.209 and RMSE of 0.457 from this model indicate that the model has a good level of accuracy in predicting PGA values. These findings provide a significant contribution in improving seismic risk prediction in the Bali region, which can be used as a basis for more effective disaster mitigation planning.

Abstract

A study has been conducted on the effect of Focus Film Distance (FFD) variation on patient absorbed dose during thorax examination at the Radiology Installation of Sanjiwani Hospital, Gianyar. This study aims to determine the effect of FFD variation and the suitability of the radiation dose received by patients whether it is still within the limits of BAPETEN's decision. The X-ray machine used was Siemens Luminos Fusion Roentgen with the FFD variation method given a distance of 110 cm, 130 cm, and 150 cm in 30 patients. Dose measurements were carried out based on radiation exposure and analyzed according to BAPETEN standards. The results showed that the greater the FFD value, the smaller the absorbed dose received by patients. The highest absorbed dose obtained for FFD 110 cm was 0.3867 mGy, 130 cm was 0.2769 mGy, and 150 cm was 0.2079 mGy below the maximum limit of 0.4 mGy set by BAPETEN, so it is safe for patients. Statistical analysis of one-way t-test showed significant results, with thitung < ttabel. This indicates that FFD variation affects the absorbed dose, and all doses remain within safe limits. Thus, thorax examination at RSUD Sanjiwani Gianyar has met the established safety standards.

Abstract

A study has been conducted to determine the Diagnostic Reference Level (DRL) in non-contrast and contrast chest CT scan examinations at Bali Mandara Hospital. The study was conducted at the Radiology Installation of Bali Mandara Hospital using dose reports from non-contrast and contrast chest CT Scan examinations with data obtained including age, gender, kV, mAs, slice thick, time rotation, Pitch, as patient information and protocols used in the examination and dose information in the form of CTDIvol and DLP. This study aims to determine the local DRL value against the national DRL value. The method used to determine the DRL value in this study is by collecting data in the form of recording and documenting the dose report of CT Scan examination patients, with the data for each examination being as many as 30. From the recorded data, the CTDIvol and DLP values are used to find the DRL value by sorting it from the smallest to the largest value and then calculating the 3rd quartile as a determinant of the local DRL. The interpolation method is also used to consider the position of the 3rd quartile so that it is at a decimal value. From the research results, the CTDIvol value for non-contrast thorax examination was 6.43 mGy, and the DLP value was 293.08 mGy.cm. Meanwhile, in contrast to the thorax examination, the CTDIvol value was 6.14 mGy, and the DLP value was 852.57 mGy.cm. Furthermore, a statistical analysis was carried out in the form of a one-way t-test using SPSS software, which was used to compare the DRL values of both CTDIvol and DLP non-contrast and contrast thorax examinations with the standard values set by BAPETEN 2021 as a reference used in Indonesia. Based on the results of the analysis with a one-way t-test, it can be seen that the DRL values for non-contrast thorax examinations (DRL CTDIvol and DLP) and contrast examinations (DRL CTDIvol) do not exceed the standards set by BAPETEN. However, in the contrast thorax CT Scan examination, the DRL DLP value exceeded the standard value set by BAPETEN, so dose optimization was needed by re-evaluating the protocol implemented at Bali Mandara Hospital.
