Abstract

Nowadays, wireless communication technology is developing rapidly. However, this technology still has some weaknesses, e.g. large bandwidth requirement and multipath fading. To overcome these weaknesses, MIMO OFDM technique is needed. This paper implements MIMO OFDM 2x2 communication system in Universal Software Radio Peripheral (USRP). The performance of MIMO OFDM 2x2 is shown by the throughput value. This value is compared to the throughput value of single carrier and SISO OFDM. The modulations used are BPSK, 4-QAM, and 16-QAM. In 4-QAM modulation, the throughput value of MIMO OFDM is significantly larger than throughput value of single carrier and SISO OFDM. The throughput value of single carrier communication system is 27.71 Mbit/s, while the throughput value of the SISO OFDM communication system is 60.27 Mbit/s, and the throughput value of the MIMO OFDM 2x2 communication system is 123.03 Mbit/s.

Abstract

Telepon seluler sudah menjadi kebutuhan pokok belakangan ini. Kegiatan belajar, bekerja, pencarian informasi, interaksi sosial, dan hiburan telah banyak dilakukan menggunakan alat ini. Penggunaan ponsel yang hampir setiap hari digunakan membuat kebutuhan akan sumber daya baterai menjadi tinggi. Siswa, guru, dan tenaga kependidikan di lingkungan sekolah merupakan salah satu segmen masyarakat yang menggunakan ponsel. Berdasarkan kenyataan bahwa tempat yang memiliki sumber listrik untuk pengisian ponsel di sekolah sangatlah terbatas. Oleh sebab itu, tim dosen Program Studi Teknik Komputer memiliki rencana merancang sistem tepat guna berupa solar charging station yang direncanakan dapat menyediakan tempat pengisian daya baterai dengan memanfaatkan tenaga surya sebagai sumber listriknya. Diharapkan dengan adanya produk ini membantu warga sekolah untuk melakukan pengisian baterai ponsel yang dimiliki. Selain itu akan dilaksanakan edukasi wawasan serta perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan terkait pemanfaatan energi baru terbarukan bagi siswa sekolah Al Islah Surabaya.

Abstract

MIMO OFDM is the key technology of 4G network system. MIMO-OFDM system enhances the spectrum efficiency and increases the capacity of the system. The implementation of USRP hardware to MIMO OFDM system has been attracted some researchers to conduct the experiments. So we conduct the experiments in a MIMO OFDM system that applies the predistortion technique. In this experiment, we evaluate performances of the predistortion technique by using the artificial neural network. USRP 2920 hardware which is supported by LabVIEW and Phyton software are used in this experiment. OFDM system uses 128 subcarriers to produce an OFDM symbol, and MIMO system uses 2 antennas at transmitter and receiver side. And no obstacles between Tx and Rx, or line of sight transmission scenarios. The performances of the predistortion technique using the artificial neural network algorithm are shown in symbol constellations or Error Vector Magnitude (EVM) at the receiver. And the texts or characters are used as the input of the system. From the experiment results can be seen that the distance between Tx and Rx affects the Error Vector Magnitude (EVM) and predistortion technique produces the Error vector magnitude (EVM) improvement. More shorter the distance between Tx and Rx can decrease distortions of the received signal, At the transmitter side, the performance of predistortion technique is shown as the linearization improvement of the non-linearity power amplifier. Therefore more wider the linear region of power amplifier results the decreasing in band distortion of transmitted signal, and can be seen as the Error Vector Magnitude (EVM) improvement.

Abstract

Internet of Things (IoT) merupakan wujud perkembangan teknologi internet yang akhir-akhir ini menjadi topik perbincangan di kalangan penggiat industri Teknologi Informasi dan Komunikasi (TIK). Masyarakat Indonesia, khususnya para pelajar harus siap menghadapi tantangan tersebut untuk dapat bersaing dengan dunia. Untuk itu pihak penyelenggara pendidikan harus meningkatkan pengetahuan pelajar untuk mengakomodir hal tersebut, sedangkan kurikulum saat ini belum dapat mengakomodir hal tersebut sehingga dibutuhkan kegiatan ekstrakurikuler di luar jam pelajaran sekolah guna meningkatkan pengetahuan tentang teknologi IoT yang saat ini menjadi tren. Salah satu hal yang dapat dilakukan untuk menghadapi tantangan ini yaitu memberikan pembekalan tentang perkembangan teknologi IoT agar para pelajar dapat mempersiapkan diri lebih dini. SMP Al Islah Surabaya adalah salah satu sekolah menengah yang ada di Surabaya. Di sekolah ini, kurikulum yang digunakan masih belum mengakomodir pengetahuan tentang teknologi IoT. Kondisi inilah yang menyebabkan dibutuhkannya pengetahuan dan skill tambahan yang saat ini sedang berkembang sangat penting untuk mereka kuasai, salah satunya adalah tentang IoT. Hal ini yang menjadi dasar pemikiran penulis ingin memberikan skill tambahan kepada siswa SMP Al Islah Surabaya agar memiliki bekal kemampuan lain disamping kemampuan akademik yang mereka terima di sekolah. Penulis memberikan pelatihan IoT, dimana dalam pelaksanaannya kami dibantu oleh mahasiswa Teknik Komputer.

Abstract

In this paper, the performances of the joint technique of PAPR Reduction with ICF method and predistortion with inverse Saleh model on OFDM system are evaluated. The system’s performances at the receiver are presented by constellation nodes of QAM symbols From the experiment results can be shown that the predistorstion improves the system’s performance since the spreading of constellation nodes became smaller. While the performances of PAPR reduction technique are shown as the PAPR reduction values for clipping ratio (CR) values of 5, 4 and 3. The PAPR reduction values are 7,6 dB, 8,4 dB and 9,4 dB. And the predistortion technique can reduce the PSD gain of OFDM signal and linear high power amplifier of 30 dB.

Abstract

The Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) has evolved into an essential element of contemporary vehicles, playing a pivotal role in enhancing road safety and the overall driving experience. Traditionally, TPMS systems rely on dedicated hardware components for the collection and transmission of tire pressure data to the vehicle's onboard computer and the data is visible only to the driver. In this research, we have developed a wireless communication system between TPMS and a server, enabling tire pressure data to be accessible not only to the driver but also remotely traceable by others. To build a reliable communication system, we utilized a combination of Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) and Convolutional Code technologies. This system is implemented using Software-Defined Radio (SDR) technology. This communication method employs OFDM to enhance data throughput and integrates Convolutional Code to mitigate errors in received data. Consequently, this approach achieves a maximum throughput of 119.19MBps when utilizing the OFDM system alongside 16QAM modulation. The bit error rate for received data without coding stands at 5.77%, but the application of Convolutional Code with a 1/2 code rate effectively reduces this error rate to 3.85%. This system improves the reliability of TPMS communication with the server while also ensuring a consistently high throughput. It enhances road safety and remote monitoring capabilities.

Abstract

There are many motor vehicle accidents on the road, one of the causes being tire blowouts. These accidents occur because drivers continue to drive their vehicles even though the tire pressure and temperature exceed the specified threshold. To address this issue, there is a need for a tire pressure and temperature monitoring system that can be continuously monitored by the driver. If there is a malfunction in the monitoring device on the vehicle dashboard, the driver can be alerted by others who also monitor tire pressure and temperature information remotely. In this study, we developed a tire pressure and temperature monitoring system for vehicles that can be accessed remotely using Internet of Things (IoT) technology. Additionally, we utilized Software Defined Radio (SDR) technology for pressure and temperature data reading. This system successfully monitors tire pressure and temperature changes remotely via computer and smartphone. Based on the test results, the best standard deviation value for tire pressure is 3.54, while the best standard deviation value for tire temperature is 1.72

Abstract

Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS) have developed into an essential element in vehicles to improve safety and driving experience. In general, TPMS systems rely on special hardware to collect and transmit tire pressure data to the vehicle's on-board computer and this data can only be viewed by the driver and passengers in the vehicle. In this study, we developed a remote tire pressure and temperature monitoring system using IoT technology. The MQTT protocol facilitated communication between the cloud server and controller, while the system uses Docker container to simplify program integration. The results revealed the optimal standard deviation for tire pressure in hatchback vehicles to be 2.24, and for Multi-Purpose Vehicles (MPVs), it was 2.97. For tire temperature, the best standard deviation in hatchback vehicles was 1.93, compared to 1.05 in MPVs. This system effectively monitors tire pressure and temperature changes in real time, accessible remotely via smartphones and computers.

Abstract

Program pengabdian masyarakat ini dilaksanakan di Masjid Al Hidayah, Surabaya, dengan tujuan untuk meningkatkan kualitas suara selama pelaksanaan kegiatan ibadah melalui implementasi teknologi mixer audio digital. Masjid ini menghadapi permasalahan dalam penyampaian suara, terutama dalam penyampaian adzan, ceramah, dan bacaan imam, akibat penggunaan perangkat audio konvensional yang tidak optimal. Metode yang digunakan meliputi survei awal untuk memahami kebutuhan akustik, instalasi mixer digital, serta pelatihan teknis bagi pengurus masjid terkait penggunaan dan pemeliharaan perangkat. Hasil dari implementasi ini menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan dalam kejernihan dan kestabilan suara, pengurangan gangguan seperti feedback, serta kemudahan dalam pengaturan sistem audio. Jamaah merasakan peningkatan kenyamanan selama ibadah, sementara pengurus masjid mampu mengoperasikan perangkat dengan lebih efisien. Program ini berhasil mencapai tujuannya dan diharapkan dapat direplikasi di masjid-masjid lain yang menghadapi masalah serupa untuk meningkatkan kualitas layanan keagamaan.
