Abstract

The article aims at describing the tendency of wearing a veil in Banda Aceh City and Aceh Besar District, which has recently increased significantly. It employs living hadith as a concept with a qualitative method that seeks to explore hadiths that living in Muslim societies, how they are applied and made into traditions in daily life. The article argues that the use of the veil was more based on self-protection than on theological motivation. However, they still held that wearing veil is a sunna. This circumcision is then understood in a totalistic ideal typology, which leads to the implementation of Sunna in a higher level of application. Besides, women who wear a veil feel more filled with religious nuance, which manifests in the attitude of ?iffah (self-care), islah} (improvement of knowledge and behavior) and ?izzah (feeling noble). Also, the religiosity of a veiled female affects in two aspects: socio-morality and psychological aspect.

Abstract

As the source of Islamic teaching, hadith must be apprehended according to the intent of the prophet. If done otherwise, the understanding of prophet’s intention as the explanation of Quranic teaching can be misunderstood. The chance becomes even more likely as hadith has its own problems, especially in the context of its comprehension. These problems will create conclusions which at times influence ones’ understanding. Among the problems are the complete narration of the hadith, riwayat bi al-ma’na, and conciseness of the hadith. Ones’ understanding of a hadith whose information is complete would be different from the one that is not. Thus, the understanding of hadith problems is very crucial to comprehensively understand hadith.

Abstract

Abstract

Islamic scholars have built the method of hadith criticism since the early times to determine the validity of a hadith. Similarly, the West has for long developed its own methods in contrast to hadith criticism by the Muslim scholars. Both methods built by the Muslims and the West have been widely accepted by the respective societies and have been used for academic interests. However, both methods are not free of criticism from the scholars. Some Muslim scholars have doubted the efficacy of the Muslim's criticism method of hadith. Similarly, in the West, some scholars also doubt the efficacy of hadith criticism by the Western methods. One of the criticisms came from Kamaruddin Amin, who criticized both the Muslim and Western methods. Kamaruddin Amin criticized by presenting a relatively new method. He attempted to apply the isnad cum matn method in his work Reassess the Accuracy of Hadith Criticism Methodology. He claimed that the analysis of the isnad cum matn had reached better results compared to other dating methods. However, there should be both appreciation and criticism of this method. This is the main concern of this article.

Abstract

Abstract: One of the functions of hadith is the bayan (explanation) of interpretation, i.e. to clarify, specify, restrict or expand what is mentioned in the Qur'an. In order to be the bayan of interpretation, hadith must meet material truth as the story that comes from the Prophet and its righteousness in term of its dilalah (signs). The conclusions of jurisprudence laws have been produced based on the bayan function of hadith interpretation, including in the field of inheritance. However, there are some criticisms of these hadith, both in terms of their material truth, or their use as the bayan of interpretation. Based on these problems, this study focused on answering two main questions; regarding the quality of hadith as the bayan of interpretation in the jurisprudence of inheritance and the characteristics of the hadith as the bayan of interpretation in the inheritance jurisprudence. The study results showed that one of the five hadith is hadith dha'if in the category of munkar, another one is hadith hasan, and the other three are hadith sahih. Regarding the characteristics of the hadith as bayan of interpretation, it can be explained that jurisprudence laws use hadith dha'if, rawi gharib in some thabaqat, hadith that came early to interpret the verses of Quran coming later, and the full power of the hadith fi'li to deflect the sharih meaning of the Quran.Abstrak: Salah satu fungsi hadis adalah bayan tafsir, yaitu memperjelas, merinci, membatasi atau memperluas apa yang disebutkan dalam al-Qur'an. Untuk dapat menjadi bayan tafsir tersebut, hadis harus memenuhi syarat kebenaran materil sebagai riwayat yang datang dari Nabi dan kebenaran-Nya dari dilalahnya. Kesimpulan hukum fikih telah banyak dihasilkan berdasarkan fungsi bayan tafsir hadis, termasuk di bidang kewarisan. Tetapi ada beberapa kritik terhadap hadis-hadis ini, baik dari segi kebenaran materi, atau penggunaannya sebagai bayan tafsir. Berdasarkan hal ini, penelitian difokuskan untuk menjawab dua pertanyaan utama: menyangkut kualitas hadis bayan tafsir dalam fikih kewarisan, dan berkenaan karakteristik hadis bayan tafsir bayan dalam fikih warisan. Dari hasil penelitian, salah satu dari lima hadis tesebut termasuk hadis dha'if dalam kategori munkar, sementara satu hadis berstatus hasan, dan tiga hadis lagi berstatus sahih. Mengenai karakteristik hadis-hadis bayan tafsir, dapat dijelaskan bahwa terdapatnya penggunaan hadis dha’if, rawi-rawi yang gharib dalam beberapa thabaqat, penggunaan hadis yang turun lebih awal untuk menafsirkan ayat-ayat Alquran yang turun kemudian, dan kekuatan penuh hadits fi'li untuk membelokkan makna sharih dari Alquran.

Abstract

The Islamic modern world, which was started since in the 19th century,  provided various religious thoughts. One of them was thought on sunnah authority. This discourse attracted many scholars from various fields, which  resulted to various perfectives on the discourse. Surely, the variety could be  analyzed and categorized into certain types based on categorization of logic. The  categorizing is viable because the various thought that were produced by modern- contemporer personages are not absolutely different from each other, where its  form and character still can be divided. At least there are four typologies regarded  to the thought on sunnah authority, they are: ideal totalistic, ideal restrictive, ideal generality and paradigmatic. These typologies are taken from various perfectives  and supported by various approaches in understanding sunnah authority and  hadith validation. These typologies also reflect modern personage‟s struggle in  understanding sunnah authority and hadith validation in human life

Abstract

This article is the result of the study on the description of the development of hadith studies in Aceh after the determination of Islamic law. The assertion of Aceh as the Sharia region indicates that referring to the source of sharia is the Koran and hadith. The reality in the field at a glance shows that the study of the hadith in the sharia has not gone through the progress of the implementation of the sharia itself. The criticism of the hadith is still a taboo, but the hadith of the hadith has not referred to its source (Maṣādir al-Aṣliyah). The research was conducted by interviewing research subjects as many as 10 (ten) people from the academic community, and from among the Dayah in Banda Aceh and Aceh Besar. The results showed that academics were important with the study of hadith despite being admitted that the development of the Hadith studies has not shown its title. Three factors affect the ungrowing study of hadith. Firstly, there are no teachers in the hadith. Secondly, the strong attachment to the sect is one of the constraints of the study of Hadith. Thirdly, there has been no concern and seriousness towards the study of hadith by academics  Abstrak: Artikel ini merupakan hasil penelitian tentang deskripsi perkembangan studi hadist di Aceh setelah penetapan syariat Islam. Penegasan Aceh sebagai wilayah syariat mengindikasikan bahwa merujuk kepada sumber syariat yaitu Alquran dan hadist. Realitas di lapangan yang dicermati secara sekilas menunjukkan bahwa studi hadist di wilayah syariat belum berjalan beriring dengan kemajuan pelaksanaan syariat itu sendiri. Wacana kritik hadist masih menjadi tabu, pengutipan hadist belum merujuk pada sumber aslinya (maṣādir al-aṣliyah). Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan mewawancarai subjek penelitian sebanyak 10 (sepuluh) orang dari kalangan akademik, dan dari kalangan dayah di Kota Banda Aceh dan Kabupaten Aceh Besar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa para akademisi merasa penting dengan studi hadist meskipun diakui bahwa perkembangan studi hadist belum menunjukkan geliatnya. Ada tiga faktor yang mempengaruhi belum berkembangnya studi hadist, yaitu; Pertama, tidak terdapatnya guru-guru hadist yang mempuni. Kedua, keterikatan yang kuat terhadap mazhab merupakan salah satu kendala berkembagnya studi hadist. Ketiga, belum adanya perhatian dan keseriusan terhadap kajian hadist oleh akademisi yang ada.

Abstract

The Alquran is a guide for every human being, to understand the meaning contained herein it takes a science that is the interpreter of science. There are different interpretations because of the methods, features, and shapes used by a mufassir, and because the other is the period in which a mufasir lives or other names are classical and contemporary periods, a period is a factor in the difference of interpretations, because of the many contemporary problems or the absence of ancient evidence. The method that researchers use is a descriptive-analytical method of collecting existing data sources and then being properly analyzed, whereas the data source that researchers refer to are the interpretive books themselves, here researchers use interpreter Anwaru al-Tanzil wa Asraru al-Ta’wil as the classic interpretive reference, to the interpretation of contemporary researchers refer to Tafsir al-Bayani li al-Qur`an al-Karim treatise for Bintu al-Syathi. One example that became a difference in interpretation was lafadz taqhar surah al-Dhuha serves 9, Baidhawi interprets by the reach that you possess his possessions is because of his weaknesses, whereas Bintu al-Syathi interprets not arbitrary not to give property to them, but there is a treatment that offends them like harsh words, a cynical stare which the deed is committed without any deliberate measure. Al-Qur`an merupakan pedoman bagi setiap manusia. Untuk memahami makna yang terkandung di dalamnya, maka dibutuhkan sebuah ilmu yaitu ilmu tafsir. Adanya perbedaan penafsiran disebabkan karena metode, corak dan bentuk yang dipakai oleh seorang mufasir. Sebab lainnya adalah masa di mana seorang mufasir hidup, atau sebutan lainnya adalah periode klasik dan periode kontemporer. Masa menjadi salah satu faktor terjadi perbedaan penafsiran, karena banyaknya permasalahan di zaman kontemporer ini atau hal-hal lain yang tidak didapati di zaman terdahulu. Seperti yang terlihat dalam tulisan ini, yaitu perbedaan penafsiran pada surat al-Dhuha. Metode yang peneliti gunakan adalah analitis deskriptif yaitu mengumpulkan sumber-sumber data yang ada, lalu dianalisa secara tepat. Sumber data yang menjadi rujukan adalah kitab-kitab tafsir, khususnya Tafsir Anwaru al-Tanzil wa Asraru al-Ta’wil sebagai rujukan tafsir klasik. Untuk tafsir kontemporer merujuk kepada Tafsir al-Bayani li al-Qur`an al-Karim karya Bintu al-Syathi’. Salah satu contoh yang menjadi perbedaan penafsiran pada surat al-Dhuha (93): 9 adalah pada lafal taqhar. Al-Baidhawi menafsirkan dengan “janganlah kamu menguasai hartanya dikarenakan kelemahannya”, sedangkan Bintu al-Syathi’ menafsirkan bukan kesewenang-wenang tidak memberikan harta terhadap mereka, tetapi ada perlakuan yang menyakiti hati seperti perkataan yang kasar, tatapan sinis yang mana perbuatan tersebut dilakukan tanpa unsur kesengajaan.

Abstract

This paper aims to determine the relationship between emotional intelligence and spiritual intelligence with knowledge of hadith about Islam, faith and ihsan in students of the Qur'an and Tafsir Study Program, Faculty of Ushuluddin and Philosophy (IAT FUF) UIN Ar-Raniry Banda Aceh. This research is quantitative with the type of correlation research. Based on the results of the study, shows: first, there is a positive and significant relationship between emotional intelligence and spiritual intelligence with the results of hadith knowledge about Islam, faith and ihsan in students of IAT FUF UIN Ar-Raniry Banda Aceh Study Program. The correlation between emotional intelligence and spiritual intelligence is directly proportional to hadith knowledge. With a correlation coefficient level of 0.65 in the strong category with a coefficient of determination (D) = 42%, the higher the level of knowledge of hadith about Islam, faith and ihsan among students, the higher the level of emotional intelligence and spiritual intelligence possessed by students the. Second, practical knowledge of hadith about Islam, faith and ihsan encourages students to motivate themselves, control emotions in social interactions and interpret the learning process as worship. Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan kecerdasan emosional dan kecerdasan spiritual dengan pengetahuan hadis tentang Islam, iman dan ihsan pada mahasiswa Prodi Ilmu Alquran dan Tafsir Fakultas Ushuluddin dan Filsafat (IAT FUF) UIN Ar-Raniry Banda Aceh. Penelitian ini bersifat kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian korelasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukkan: pertama, terdapat hubungan yang positif dan signifikan antara kecerdasan emosional dan kecerdasan spiritual dengan hasil pengetahuan hadis tentang Islam, iman dan ihsan pada mahasiswa Prodi IAT FUF UIN Ar-Raniry Banda Aceh. Korelasi antara kecerdasan emosional dan kecerdasan spiritual berbanding lurus dengan pengetahuan hadis. Dengan tingkat koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,65 pada kategori kuat dengan koefisien determinasi (D) = 42%, semakin tinggi tingkat pengetahuan hadis tentang Islam, iman dan ihsan di kalangan mahasiswa, maka semakin tinggi pula tingkat kecerdasan emosional dan kecerdasan spiritual yang dimiliki oleh mahasiswa tersebut. Kedua, secara praktis pengetahuan hadis tentang Islam, iman dan ihsan mendorong mahasiswa untuk memotivasi diri, mengendalikan emosi dalam interaksi sosial dan memaknai proses pembelajarannya sebagai ibadah.

Abstract

Millah Ibrahim is a group that emerged in Johor and believes that prayer is not an obligation in Islam, they believe in the Day of Judgment, and are trying to unite the teachings of Islam, Christianity, and Judaism so that it has a great impact on the common people. Their opinions are based on the verses of the Qur'an with a distorted understanding. This article tries to examine how the deviations in the interpretation of the Qur'an were carried out by the Millah Ibrahim group and how the impact of these deviations on the people of Johor. The results show that the deviations in interpretation carried out by Millah Ibrahim's group are seen in Surah al-Maidah verse 68, Surah al-Baqarah verse 22, al-Ankabut verse 45, and al-Hijir verse 87. These deviations generally occur because of the lack of fulfillment of the requirements to become a commentator. The impact of these deviations, where the general public in Johor was consumed by the explanations presented by this group. This group explains that what is meant by the Day of Judgment mentioned in the Qur'an is not the day when this world is destroyed and then the jinn and humans are resurrected, but what they mean is the day of religious awakening. Millah Ibrahim merupakan satu kelompok yang muncul di Johor, dan berpandangan bahwa salat bukan kewajiban dalam Islam, mereka percaya pada hari kiamat, dan berusaha menyatukan ajaran Islam, Kristen dan Yahudi, sehingga memberi dampak yang besar kepada masyarakat awam. Pendapat-pendapat mereka didasarkan kepada ayat-ayat al-Qur’an dengan pemahamanan yang meyimpang. Artikel ini mencoba menelaah bagaimana penyimpangan dalam penafsiran al-Qur’an yang dilakukan oleh kelompok Millah Ibrahim dan bagaimana dampak penyimpangan tersebut terhadap masyarakat Johor. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penyimpangan penafsiran yang dilakukan oleh kelompok Millah Ibrahim terlihat dalam surat al-Maidah ayat 68, surat al-Baqarah ayat 22, al-Ankabut ayat 45, dan al-Hijir ayat 87. Penyimpangan tersebut pada umumnya terjadi karena kurang terpenuhinya syarat-syarat untuk menjadi seorang mufasir. Dampak dari penyimpangan tersebut, dimana masyarakat awam di Johor termakan oleh penjelasan-penjelasan yang disampaikan oleh kelompok ini. Kelompok ini menjelaskan bahwa apa yang dimaksud dengan hari kiamat yang disebut dalam al-Qur’an bukanlah hari dimana dunia ini hancur dan kemudian jin dan manusia dibangkitkan kembali, tetapi yang mereka maksud adalah hari kebangkitan agama.
