Abstract

One of the connection of one place starting from several materials or materials that are solid is one of the welding methods, as for the factors that can affect the quality of the weld results which include the process of tools and materials to be used, welding direction, welding electrode movement patterns, in order to use and select electrodes. In this study ST 40 steel plate, testing was carried out with 3 specimens using U and zigzag movement patterns and the direction of welding used back and forth. variations in electric current used are 40 A, 60 A, 80 A. This study has the aim of influencing welding techniques using current variations. The test results that the welding process using welding techniques consisting of movement patterns, welding direction and welding time does not affect the weld defects in the welding results. Abstract

General Background: Corrosion is a critical issue affecting the durability and performance of metallic materials in industrial environments. Specific Background: Variations in coating type and temperature conditions can alter the corrosion behavior of metal surfaces, leading to differences in degradation rates. Knowledge Gap: Previous studies have not consistently examined the combined role of coating variations and temperature conditions in determining corrosion characteristics under controlled testing environments. Aims: This study aims to analyze corrosion rate behavior under different coating types and temperature variations to identify dominant factors influencing material degradation. Results: Experimental findings show that variations in coating type and temperature produce different corrosion rates, where certain coatings demonstrate better resistance under specific thermal conditions. The analysis highlights measurable differences in corrosion performance across tested samples. Novelty: This study provides a focused evaluation of combined coating and temperature variables in corrosion testing, offering a comparative perspective on material resistance. Implications: The results support material selection and protective coating strategies to improve durability and reduce degradation risks in industrial applications. Abstract

General Background Condensers play a crucial role in thermal systems by converting steam into liquid through heat transfer processes. Specific Background The performance of condensers is influenced by key parameters such as pressure, temperature, and fluid flow rate, particularly in finned tube systems. Knowledge Gap Previous studies have examined general condenser performance, but limited research has focused on Pokka 5001 type condensers with louvered fins under varying pressure conditions. Aims This study aims to analyze the efficiency and heat transfer rate of a Pokka 5001 condenser using pressure variations as the primary variable. Results Experimental results show that increasing pressure from 20 to 40 Psi leads to higher efficiency values, ranging from 73.17% to 89.68%, and improves heat transfer rate and fluid work. Additionally, higher flow rates contribute to increased heat transfer performance. Novelty This study provides experimental evaluation of a Pokka 5001 finned tube condenser with controlled pressure variation and airflow conditions. Implications The findings support better operational control of pressure and flow rate to maintain optimal condenser performance in thermal systems. Abstract

Specific Background Variations in welding parameters such as current, voltage, and joint configuration can significantly alter mechanical properties and microstructural characteristics. Knowledge Gap Previous studies have examined welding parameters, yet limited analysis integrates multiple variables with detailed mechanical and microstructural evaluation. Aims This study aims to analyze the effect of welding parameter variations on tensile strength, hardness, and microstructure of aluminum joints. Results The findings indicate that parameter variations lead to differences in mechanical performance and microstructural formation, with certain conditions producing more stable joint characteristics. Novelty This study provides a combined evaluation of welding parameters and their relationship with mechanical and microstructural properties in a single framework. Implications The results offer practical insights for selecting appropriate welding parameters to achieve desired material performance in industrial applications. Abstract

General Background Micro, small, and medium enterprises require efficient production tools to support increasing demand and operational sustainability. Specific Background Manual cutting processes in piggy bank production are time-consuming and limit productivity. Knowledge Gap Existing practices lack simple, efficient, and affordable cutting tools specifically designed for MSME-scale production. Aims This study aims to design a circular cardboard cutting tool using an electric motor and to determine the most suitable design concept. Results The selected concept A demonstrates a maximum von Mises stress of 5.433 MPa, maximum displacement of 0.041 mm, and a safety factor of 43, indicating structural safety. The design provides high efficiency and ease of manufacturing. Novelty This study integrates morphological chart-based concept generation with structural simulation for MSME-oriented tool design. Implications The proposed design offers a practical and affordable solution to support production capacity improvement in small-scale piggy bank manufacturing. Abstract

General Background Project scheduling is a critical aspect in ensuring timely completion and efficient resource allocation in construction and industrial projects. Specific Background Techniques such as Program Evaluation and Review Technique (PERT) and Critical Path Method (CPM) are widely applied to analyze project timelines and identify critical activities. Knowledge Gap However, limited integration of both methods in practical case studies leads to suboptimal scheduling decisions. Aims This study aims to analyze and optimize project scheduling using PERT and CPM to determine critical paths and estimated completion times. Results The analysis identifies key activities influencing project duration and reveals opportunities to reduce completion time compared to initial planning. Novelty The study provides a combined application of probabilistic and deterministic scheduling approaches within a single project context. Abstract

General Background Agricultural productivity depends on efficient and uniform planting methods. Specific Background Mechanical rice planting tools are developed to replace manual methods and improve consistency. Knowledge Gap However, limited studies focus on design selection based on systematic evaluation methods for rice planting machines. Aims This study aims to design and determine the best concept of a rice planting machine using the Ulrich and Eppinger method. Results The evaluation shows that Concept A achieves the highest score based on manufacturability, operation, maintenance, and cost criteria, and is capable of planting seedlings with a spacing of 25 cm × 25 cm. Novelty The study applies a structured concept selection approach combined with mechanical system design for rice planting. Implications The proposed design provides a practical solution to improve planting uniformity, reduce labor effort, and support agricultural efficiency. Abstract

General Background: Welding is a critical process in manufacturing that determines the strength and reliability of material joints. Specific Background: Metal Inert Gas (MIG) welding is widely used due to its efficiency, but variations in welding current can significantly affect the mechanical properties of the welded material. Knowledge Gap: The optimal current variation for achieving maximum tensile strength in MIG welding is not always clearly defined for specific materials such as ST 37. Aims: This study aims to analyze the effect of welding current variation on the tensile strength of ST 37 material using the MIG welding method. Results: The findings indicate that different current levels produce varying tensile strengths, with one current variation resulting in the highest tensile strength compared to others. Novelty: The study provides experimental evidence of the relationship between welding current variation and tensile strength in ST 37 material using controlled parameter conditions. Implications: The results can be used as a reference for selecting appropriate welding parameters to achieve stronger and more reliable welded joints in industrial applications. Abstract

General Background: Productivity and consistency are essential factors in food processing industries, particularly in small and medium enterprises. Specific Background: Manual dough mixing in cracker production often results in low efficiency and inconsistent product quality. Knowledge Gap: Limited studies focus on practical machine design that addresses both productivity and consistency in small-scale cracker production. Aims: This study aims to design and develop a dough mixer machine to improve production capacity and mixing consistency. Results: The developed machine demonstrates improved mixing performance, increased production capacity, and more uniform dough compared to manual processes. Novelty: The study presents a practical machine design tailored for small-scale industries with specific capacity considerations. Abstract

General Background: Banana processing is an important agro-industrial activity in Indonesia, particularly for producing banana chips with consistent quality. Specific Background: Conventional manual slicing methods are inefficient and result in inconsistent thickness, limiting productivity and product quality. Knowledge Gap: Previous approaches have not fully integrated manufacturing process analysis with time, cost, and performance evaluation in a single machine design. Aims: This study aims to analyze the manufacturing process of a banana slicer machine with a capacity of 59 kg/hour, including time estimation, cost calculation, and performance testing. Results: The manufacturing process consists of cutting, drilling, welding, turning, and milling, resulting in a total production time of 29.63 hours and a total cost of Rp 5,058,262. Performance testing shows that the use of three blades produces the most consistent slice thickness of 2 mm with good quality output. Novelty: The study integrates detailed manufacturing time analysis, cost estimation, and performance evaluation within a single machine development framework. Implications: The findings provide practical guidance for improving production efficiency and product quality in small to medium-scale banana processing industries.
