Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kelayakan penuntun praktikum kimia dasar inovatif dalam perkuliahan kimia dasar dan mengetahui perbedaan hasil belajar mahasiswa yang menggunakan penuntun praktikum kimia dasar inovatif terintegrasi pendekatan guided inquiry pada materi laju reaksi. Lokasi penelitian di Universitas HKBP Nommensen Pematangsiantar. Sampel penelitian diambil sebanyak 30 mahasiswa. Data pada penelitian ini diperoleh dari lembar observasi aktivitas siswa dan tes hasil belajar siswa. Teknik pengumpul data menggunakan lembar aktivitas dan tes objektif dalam bentuk pilihan ganda yang terdiri dari 20 soal. Teknik analisis data menggunakan metode analisis deskriptif kualitatif berdasarkan penjelasan deskriptif hasil wawancara dan beberapa komentar dari validator. Berdasarkan hasil penilaian lembar observasi aktivitas siswa diperoleh nilai masing-masing observer I 89,3; observer II 77,3 dan observer III 78,2. Hasil tes objektif menunjukkan peningkatan hasil belajar rata-rata gain sebesar 0,52 berada pada kategori sedang yang merupakan peniaian dari ranah kognitif. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa penuntun praktikum kimia dasar inovatif terintegrasi pendekatan guided inquiry untuk meningkatkan keterampilan proses mahasiswa dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar mahasiswa pada materi laju reaksi.

Abstract

Salah satu dampak dari pandemi covid-19 ini adalah terjadi transformasi media pembelajaran yang dulu lebih banyak menggunakan sistem tatap muka di dalam kelas kini menjadi sistem online. Dengan adanya kebijakan ini membuat seluruh guru melakukan pembelajaran jarak jauh. Karena kebijakan ini muncul lah permasalahan yang diakibatkan tidak semua guru mahir menggunakan teknologi internet untuk penunjang kegiatan pembelajaran online dan perlu pendampingan dan pelatihan terlebih dahulu. Salah satu fitur keren yang ditujukan untuk dunia pendidikan di Google Drive adalah adanya fitur pembuatan kuis yang bisa di setting pada penggunaan google formulir dengan batasan waktu. Pengabdian masyarakat bertujuan untuk meningkatkan wawasan dan keterampilan guru dalam menggunakan aplikasi google form sebagai media pembelajaran jarak jauh. Adapun mitra yang terlibat ialah guru-guru di SMK Yapim Sei Rotan. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan ini dilaksanakan menggunakan media online. Kegiatan adalah sosialisasi pelatihan dalam bentuk tutorial dan diskusi bagaimana membuat media kuis online menggunakan aplikasi google form. Sosialisasi dilakukan dengan tujuan memperkenalkan apa itu google form, bagaimana kelebihan google form dan bagaimana pemanfaatannya. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa peserta pelatihan sudah memahami prinsip-prinsip menciptakan kuis dan mampu menciptakan kuis online menggunakan aplikasi Google. Hasil kegiatan diraskan manfaatnya bagi guru-guru serta keberhasilan kegiatan pengabdian ini dalam katergori berhasil.

Abstract

Selain model pembelajaran, salah satu bahan ajar yang dapat digunakan dalam menunjang keberhasilan proses pembelajaran adalah modul Modul disebut juga media untuk belajar mandiri karena di dalamnya telah dilengkapi petunjuk untuk belajar sendiri Adapun tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengembangan modul kimia dasar berbasis discovery learning pada materi stoikiometri yang valid, mengetahui pengaruh hasil belajar mahasiswa terhadap bahan ajar yang telah dikembangkan dan kelayakan modul kimia dasar berbasis Discovery Learning pada materi stoikiometri menurut para ahli. Hasil observasi yang telah dilakukan pengamat terhadap bahan ajar berupa modul pada materi stoikiometri di Universitas HKBP Nommensen Pematangsiantar. Penelitian ini merupakan analisis kualitatif terkhususnya pada pokok bahasan stoikiometri. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan (research and development). Hasil analisis keefektifan modul pembelajaran kimia berbasis discovery learning yang didasarkan pada analisis hasil belajar setelah menggunakan modul telah memenuhi kriteria ketuntasan minimal yaitu 75 menunjukan nilai sebesar 80%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang diperoleh disimpulkan bahwa modul yang dikembangkan telah layak, praktis dan efektif digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran dan terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan penggunaan modul kimia dasar pada materi stoikiometri yang telah dikembangkan dalam pembelajaran berbasis discovery learning terhadap hasil belajar kimia dasar pada mahasiswa

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of discovery learning with concept maps and computer animation media on chemistry learning outcomes on the subject of hydrocarbons. The sample in this study was students of Mathematics Education semester 1 HKBP Nommensen Pematangsiantar University odd semester of the 2019/2020 school year. The instrument used in data collection is a validated test instrument. The data obtained were tested with a comparative study using the two-party t test. From the normalized gain data, a large increase in student learning outcomes by using discovery learning teaching with concept maps and computer animation media was 54% of the experimental class I and 70% of the experimental class II. The magnitude of the difference in the increase in student learning outcomes is 16%. Based on the results of hypothesis testing, obtained tcount> ttable is 5.56> 1.6671 at a significant level α = 0.05. This means that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted, which states that there are significant differences in student learning outcomes by applying discovery learning using concept maps and computer animation on hydrocarbon material.

Abstract

The study aimed to determine the effectiveness of using Youtube in basic chemistry practicum courses in digital-based learning to increase student creativity. The subjects of this study were students of the chemical education study program, totaling 15 students. Data collection techniques used are tests, observations, and documentation. The data analysis technique was carried out in a quantitative descriptive manner. The research was carried out in two cycles. The results showed that there was an increase in learning outcomes and also student creativity in the use of Youtube in basic chemistry practicum courses. Learning outcomes in the first cycle the average value is 74.73. These results still do not meet the mastery value of the basic chemistry practicum course, which is 75. Then proceed to cycle II which has an average value of 85.53. The results in the second cycle stated that the average value had reached completeness or graduation in the basic chemistry practicum course, which was 85.53. Thus, an increase in the average value from cycle I to cycle II of 14.45% states that the use of youtube in basic chemistry practicum courses in digital-based learning is effective in improving student learning outcomes. Based on observational data, it is stated that the use of YouTube in the Basic Chemistry Practicum in Digital-Based Learning is effective for increasing Creativity.

Abstract

One of the chemicals that is considered difficult is the colligative properties of solutions. Difficulty understanding material colligative properties of solutions can hinder students' understanding of other concepts. The purpose of this research was to find out the increase in creative thinking skills and mastery of students' material after participating in the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model of learning. The research method used was quasi-experimental research, with the research design used being one group pretest-posttest design. In this study, the experimental class was treated using the Problem Based Learning learning model on colligative properties of solutions. The population in this study were undergraduate students at HKBP Nommensen Pematangsiantar University. The sample in this study were Bachelor of Chemistry Education students at HKBP Nommensen Pematangsiantar University. The results of research on student learning outcomes in the material Colligative Properties of Solutions using the PBL learning model increased from 42.6% students' pretest scores and 84.16% students' posttests, the increase obtained was 41.56%. The conclusion of the research is that the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model has a significant effect on students' creative thinking skills. This can be proven from the average value of students' creative thinking skills in the experimental class at each meeting has increased

Abstract

Good teaching materials have certain criteria or certain standards, such as their relevance to the current curriculum. The STEM approach offers teachers the opportunity to introduce students to various concepts to teach teaching materials that can be integrated into natural sciences including chemistry. This research aims to describe the presentation of STEM aspects in class XI high school chemistry teaching materials regarding reaction rates. The method in this research is a qualitative descriptive method with a content analysis approach. The data source comes from three books for class XI high school chemistry teaching materials which are most widely used in Pematangsiatar City. The technique for selecting research objects uses purposive sampling technique. Data collection was carried out analyzing material based on STEM indicators. Testing the validity of the instrument uses the Gregory formula, while testing the validity of the data uses data triangulation. The results of the research show that the percentage of quotations appearing in each book, namely in book A, has aspects of Science 30%, Technology 40%, and Mathematics 30%. In book B, the Science aspect is 19.05%, Technology 42.86%, Engineering 9.52% and Mathematics 28.57%. In book C, the Science aspect is 25%, Technology 25%, Engineering 18.75% and Mathematics 31.25%. Based on the total occurrence of STEM aspect indicators, the order of teaching materials that fulfill the STEM aspect is Book B > Book C > Book A, so that Book B has the highest number of occurrences of STEM aspect quotes.
