Abstract

Astronomy is one of the oldest sciences of human civilization. In the past, our ancestors navigated the sea using the stars as navigation and the sky as a determinant of the period of cultivation. Astronomy has provided many benefits to our life up to now. Nowadays, astronomical phenomenons are associated with certain beliefs and even the public at large does not yet understand why those occurred. It is very important to socialize Astronomy to support the rapid development of science and technology, so the planetarium can be the answer, as a bridge between humans and science. The architectural problem raised in this design were "What is the design of a planetarium in Banjarbaru that is able to provide spatial experiences with different contexts/stories in each space, has an recreative-educative function, and provides a futuristic visual image with the concept of Space Walkers using the Space Simulation method?" This design was realized by using the Spatial Simulation method as a space for user interaction and the solution to problems using the concept of Space Walkers so that space is not only limited to space but is able to tell stories and provide experiences with different contexts/stories.

Abstract

The growth of the animation and video film sector was the highest in 2018 at 10.18%. This sector is a new opportunity for animators and VFX artists. Animation creators in South Kalimantan need a place to accommodate their skills in the form of an animation studio. The existence of an animation studio in Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan, opens up job opportunities for graduates of high schools (SMK) who focus on making animations. An animation studio will require a building design that will provide comfort for its users, so the space program needs to be considered and arranged efficiently. The problem raised in the studio design is how to design an animation studio that has an effective relationship between spaces and can provide ideas in the development of stories and the process of making animation? This problem is solved by preparing a space program based on the flow of the animation making work process and differentiating activity zones. The animation studio carries the concept of "Nature Feels" for relaxation and provides a sense of comfort in the work process. This atmosphere can also stimulate ideas in animation making.

Abstract

During the period of cognitive development, some children not a few who experience some problems at the stage of their cognitive development, one of which is the presence of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). It was recorded in January 2018 that there were 500 cases of children with autism in South Kalimantan. In South Kalimantan itself, therapy centers for autistic children are still very few and the facilities they provide are still very limited. And there are still many parents who think therapy for autistic children doesn't make any changes to their children. Meanwhile, in therapy it takes a long time and consistently in therapy and the active cooperation of parents must be active at home. So it is felt that there is a need for an Autistic Children Therapy Center in South Kalimantan at this time. This is realized by the method of Psychological Architecture and the concept of applying the principles of Healing Environment to create an Autistic Child Therapy Center that can improve the behavior of autistic children for the better and provide education to parents.

Abstract

Humans learn from the environment by absorbing information through the five senses. For architecture students to be in a space, which means being in an educational medium, because learning about architecture is learning about space. Study spaces such as studios are educational environments close to architecture students. The interior elements of the studio consisting of walls, floors, ceilings, doors, windows, furniture, and accessories that are captured visually have become a separate learning medium for architecture students. However, there are other educational information that is not captured visually that has not been conveyed. These elements can be increased their educational value by providing additional information in accordance with the specifications of each element. The spatial element whose educational value is enhanced in this study is the studio of Architecture, which is a place for architecture students to learn about space design. This study uses a rationalistic paradigm with a qualitative deductive approach. Information added to spatial elements is information that is not captured visually. Additional information is applied with infographics. The delivery of information through the elements of space does not only make the studio a place for learning, but also increases it into a learning medium.
