Abstract

Information Technology Center is a place which has function as a center for a place which including the technology for share information by using computer system which is usefull for human in the social condition, economy, and culture. Pekanbaru is a town which has high city activity in the area of commerce and service, so its need of information technology is high. Information Technology Center in Pekanbaru is a place which has been designed to accomodate the need in the area of information technology, therefore it use the theme Architecture High Tech. The concept which has been applied is the six characters of Architecture High Tech building, that is consisted of : (1) Inside out, the use of tranparent element; (2) Celebration of process, the exposed structure; (3) Transparent, layer, and movement; (4) Bright and flatten coloring; (5) A weight filigree of tensile member; (6) Optimistic confidence in a scientific cultura, that is the use of technology which is oriented to the future. By this design activity, it has been obtained the conclusion that in designing Information Technology Center, we need: (1) The clear division of the areas in the information technology, which later it will be the mass of the building; (2) The effective compilation of spaces; (3) The applying of architechture high tech which is started from the use of building material, structure, the expose of building technology system, the coloring which is based of function, and economical of energy technology.Key Words: Information Technology Center, High Tech Architecture.

Abstract

Malay Ornament Museum Of Riau is the specialized museum that contains a collection of Malay decorative and ornament. Ornament that is stored in the museum is an architectural ornament or Riau public used in buildings (arts of Malay). Storage categories of decoration is divided into two, namely in the form of carvings and ancient manuscripts. In the design of this Ornament Museum, the main concern is the circulation in the exhibition space. Circulation must be created to make visitors enjoy all the collection without feeling bored and exhausted. In addition to circulation, to reinforse the theme of the museum, the building uses the concept of transformation of traditional Malay architecture in order to wither atmosphere can be felt throughout the building.Keyword: museum, ornament, Riau Traditional Malay.

Abstract

Pekanbaru was developing in tourism, especially in culinary and shopping souvenirs tourism. Development of culinary and shopping souvenirs in Pekanbaru growing rapidly and spread out at various corners of the city. Those things that be a reason why Pekanbaru needs a culinary and souvenirs center. Besides becoming a tourism facilities, culinary and souvenirs center expected be a education facilites for learning Malay Culture by applying one of the traditional architecture in Riau, it is Malay Architecture. One of history architecture heritage on Malay kingdom is Rokan IV Koto kingdom that located in Rokan Hulu which has different architectural form caused its geographical location. By using the architecture of Rokan IV Koto as an approach for the design, then was found a concept is “Culture Harmony”. This concept is a suitability that bind culture (culinary and souvenirs) becomes a unity by transforming Architecture of Rokan IV Koto. Culinary and Souvenirs Center is build on 3 ha area land, with area building 8019 m2. Architectural element in Architecture of Rokan IV Koto which includes region pattern and building form is transformed with dimensional transformation, addictive transformation, and subtractive transformation. The results of the transformation from the form of patterns and shapes are applied to the design of Culinary and Souvenirs Center that include zoning, mass order, outdoor planning, mass formation, indoor planning and structure.Keyword: Culinary and Souvenirs Center, Culture Harmony, Form Transformations, Architecture of Rokan IV Koto

Abstract

Indonesian society are familiar with the art, culture and crafts that suitable with the habits, skills and needs. Tenun songket craft is one of the traditional craft in Riau’s Malay community, which in ancient times were often made by the nobles and only used by the royals. But nowadays, songket has been used by the public and became one of the craft that many tourists hunted as a souvenir of Riau Province. Therefore, riau needs for a place of Tenun Craft Center to preserve the craft from extinction and provide the information of tenun songket craft. Sentra is a small unit area that has a certain characteristic in which there are activities of the production process of a business type that produces a product. Craft is the result of human activity and creativity in the form of art and culture that has developed since long time ago. Tenun craft centers design adopts the Visual Appearance from Traditional Architecture of Malay’s Rumah Kajang and the settlement patterns of Talang Mamak tribes. Abstract

Cinema square is a surrounding which has some activities inside the open area such as theatre and plaza. Cinema is included to someone’s choice to free from full activity. The unres tricted style of this cinema square is coherent to the design principlies of postmodern architecture. Postmodern architecture emerged as a liberation act of modern architecture. By using postmodern architecture as an approachment to design Cinema Square in Pekanbaru, therefore the concept of "Freedom of Exspression" is obtained. The concept is applied by using metaphor approachment in zoning pattern, arrangement of the mass, outdoor space planning, mass forms, and facades. The outcome of the concept applied on zoning patterns is centrally formed, with mass arrangement in accordance to its functional behaviour, hence outer area arrangement will go along with mass arrangement. On the mass shaping wich is based on this square pattern gives a curving result on every building shoupe wich surrounds the site centrally. Where as the application on the facade is square line that lies horizontally on every building, this is intended as a modern form that can’t be separated from postmodern.Keywords: Cinema Square, Freedom of Expression, Metaphor, Postmodern Architecture.

Abstract

Pekanbaru is a famous city for the diversity of society who inhabit this city. The plural of society produce a diversity of culturally diverse artistic heritage anyway, so it takes a container to preserve the artistic and cultural heritage that heritage is not lost and remains a hallmark of the Pekanbaru city. Art Museum which is a vehicle to capture and document the activities and events and historic objects, especially with regard to art and culture is the answer of the need for the container to preserve the heritage of art and culture in the city is auspicious. In designing an art museum in Pekanbaru, the design approach is more emphasis on the application of the principle of Tropical Architecture with the aim that the academy is able to answer a variety of issues related to tropical climate that houses which is place on Pekanbaru. Some of the principles of TropicalArchitecture that will be applied in the design is: (1) Orientation of the building; (2) Optimization of natural aeration; (3) The use of the stage; (4) Shape slanted roof conditions: (5) vegetation. With the complexity of climate-relatd issue in Pekanbaru, then it would be better if this Pekanbaru Artmuseum design with the approach of Tropical Architecture. So that by applying the principles of Tropical Architecture in this design is expected to generate a good art museum for users and arouse people's desire to re-apply the principles of Tropical Architecture in designing various kinds of buildings in Indonesia, especially in the Pekanbaru city.Keywords: Art Museum, Tropical Architecture, Principle.

Abstract

Taman Jalur is one of the recreational destinations in Teluk Kuantan, which is located on the edge of the Batang Kuantan River, Teluk Kuantan, Kuantan Singingi Regency, Riau. There are many people who carry out activities in the park make them take small business in the park of area. This causes in disorder of the lane park area, it makes some troubles, that are circulation, open space, land use, a pedestrian, and parking area. To overcome this problem, a special culinary arrangement is needed as a forum for street vendors to sell which will not only solve culinary problems but also problems outside of culinary that have a direct impact on Taman Jalur as a landmark of Teluk Kuantan City. The arrangement of the Food Court uses a Waterfront Architecture approach which basically has the principle of protecting the edge river area and developing its potentials that can improve human interaction with the natural surroundings in a design that refers to the function of structuring culinary and recreational tourism.Keyword : Taman Jalur, Food Court, Waterfront Architecture

Abstract

Badminton is a popular sport in the world, especially East Asia and Southeast Asia. The game of badminton is a very common thing for Indonesian people, because in almost every region of Indonesia badminton game into sports interests of society. Riau Badminton Center is building a sports stadium badminton equipped with supporting facilities such as dormitories. Existence Riau Badminton Center is expected to accommodate young athletes, especially in the city of Pekanbaru so as to berbucara least the national arena. In designing this building, green architecture approach is used to address a variety of issues related to climate conditions that affect the site. Some Green Architecture principles applied in the design, such as: (1) The energy savings such as natural lighting; (2) Optimizing the use of natural energy such as the use of solar panels; (3) Percentage of green spaces; and (4) responsive to environmental conditions. The building will be designed with a green architectural approach that will make the building more to implementing environmentally friendly elements and response to climate. Riau sports facilities building Badminton Center uses the concept of Dynamic Transformation in its design. Koto panjang has many potential that could be developed. However, many potential faded because it doesnt really exposed, one of local potential that could be developed even more is Koto Panjang’s lake region hydroelectricity (PLTA). Location in Merangin village, Kampar regency, Riau, has a beautiful natural scenery. Clean environtment, and quite. This is very suitable for a resort, holiday and also a new touris attraction that could be developed, aside as a hydroelectricity to Riau society, based on the number on problem to desain a facility that acomodatete a resort activity and holiday also tourist attraction to Riau society with presented resort and Floating Market. That abuse local potential that exist such as Koto Panjang’s lake region hydroelectricity (PLTA), this floating market built in 3,3 ha on 4,3 ha on ground built area koto panjang’s lake Floating Market made with eko excursion approach that notice balance of nature environtment and artificial environtment. Abstract

Pasar Pagi located in HR.Soebrantas street takes an imfortant role in fulfilling the needs of the society surroundings, completely to the economic social order. Considering the unsuppported services faced in these public facilities; frequently traffic congestion, insufficient parking space, poor drainage system, and incompletely arranged market spot, redesigning of the Pasar Pagi is a significance to overcome the cases exist. The design method undertaken prior to the project uses the principle of tropical, functional, structural, and esthetical architecture. Since the interactions within the community of the Pasar Pagi are various, those activities developed should meet the standard quality in accordance with the Presidential Decree Republic of Indonesia No. 112 year 2007; traditionally market inside and outside ordering based, well-facilitated principle and responsibly designed tropical architecture.
