Abstract

Abstract: Quality of education is an important requirement in preparing superior human resources. But in reality the implementation of education has not been able to produce qualified graduates. These conditions, among others, caused by the empowerment of teachers. This research was conducted to analyze teacher empowerment strategy in improving education quality. The research used qualitative approach with descriptive method. Data obtained through literature review and analyzed descriptively-qualitative. The results showed that the improvement of the quality of education requires appropriate teacher empowerment strategies. Key words: education quality, empowerment, teacher.

Abstract

This study investigates the effect of organizational justice on teachers' task performance mediated by organizational citizenship behavior (OCB). Research data were collected from 220 teachers of Senior High Schools in Indonesia through questionnaires. The data obtained were analyzed by path analysis supported by descriptive and correlational statistics. The results show that organizational justice significantly affects teachers' task performance, directly or indirectly, mediated by OCB. Thus, teachers' task performance can be improved through organizational justice and OCB. Furthermore, these findings can be discussed as a reference among researchers and practitioners to develop new, better, and comprehensive models of teachers' task performance in the future. This study investigates the effect of organizational justice on teachers' task performance mediated by organizational citizenship behavior (OCB). Abstract

Objectives: Task performance is an essential determinant of organization life, including profit and non-profit organizations. Lecturers' task performance in universities is vital to realizing the goals, which include creating quality graduates and building competitiveness that promises sustainable progress for all involved stakeholders. Therefore, it is crucial to investigate lecturers' task performance by considering other relevant variables. Accordingly, this study examined Indonesian lecturers' task performance based on innovative behavior, job involvement, and organizational citizenship behavior (OCB). The study also attempted to find relevant models of innovative behavior influencing lecturers' task performance, mediated by job involvement and OCB. Methods: Questionnaires with the Likert scale were used to collect data from 230 lecturers selected using accidental sampling. The data were analyzed using descriptive and correlational techniques and structural equation modeling. Results: Innovative behavior, job involvement, and OCB significantly affected the lecturers' task performance. Besides, job involvement and OCB mediating innovative behavior affected the lecturers' task performance. However, the mediating role of job involvement was more prominent than that of OCB. Novelty: A new model of innovative behavior mediated by job involvement and OCB was developed, affecting lecturers’ task performance. Abstract

Inovation is the teacher's behavior aimed to produce, introduce or apply new findings in the form of ideas and solutions that benefit the organization, which is sourced fromexploration opportunities, generativity, informati investigation, fighting, and applications. The lack of innovation among teachers is not without cause. One of the most important is learning organization. This research was conducted to analyze the role of learning organization in optimizing teacher innovation. The research used qualitative approach with descriptive method. Data obtained through literature review and analyzed descriptively-qualitative. The results showed that teacher innovation is needed in the learning process so that schools need to optimize teacher innovation through the revitalization of learning organization.

Abstract

Employees' performance is incredible impact on the organizations, includes increase organizational effectiveness, productivity, growth, and performance. Therefore, this study focuses on investigating the effect of interpersonal skills on creativity and contextual performance, creativity on contextual performance, and finding the role of creativity in mediating interpersonal skills affects contextual performance. A questionnaire on the Likert scale collected data through the survey methods from 250 employees of companies in Indonesia. Data analysis uses path analysis completed by descriptive and correlational analysis. Data processing was carried out using SPSS 22 and LisRel 8.80.  The results indicated that interpersonal skills significantly affect creativity and contextual performance; creativity significantly affects contextual performance, and interpersonal skills significantly affect contextual performance mediated by creativity. This study confirms a new empirical model regarding the mediating effect of interpersonal skill creativity on employee contextual performance that deserves discussion by researchers and practitioners before being adapted or adopted.

Abstract

Work effectiveness greatly determines organizational performance, so its existence needs serious attention. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the effect of ethical leadership on work effectiveness mediated by good corporate governance (GCG). The participants comprised 434 employees in Indonesia's consumer goods, finance, trade, services, and investment industry across Jakarta, West Java, and Banten. Data collection was carried out using a Likert scale questionnaire. Data analysis uses path analysis supported by descriptive and correlational analysis. The result indicated that ethical leadership directly affects GCG and work effectiveness, GCG  directly affects work effectiveness, and ethical leadership indirectly affects work effectiveness mediated by GCG. The evidence confirms a new empirical model as a novelty regarding the effect of ethical leadership on employee work effectiveness mediated by GCG. This model can be used as material for exciting discussions among academics and researchers by considering several important issues relevant to this research results' limitations.

Abstract

Organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) is a critical determinant for teachers and school organizations. Hence, this study investigates school governance affects teachers’ OCB through organizational commitment. The study used a survey method which was carried out by distributing Likert scale questionnaires to 275 teachers in public junior high schools in Indonesia. Data analyses using structural equation modeling (SEM) supported by common method biases (CMB) followed descriptive and correlational statistics. The results show that school governance directly affects teachers' OCB, organizational commitment directly affects teachers' OCB, school governance directly affects organizational commitment, and school governance indirectly affects teachers’ OCB through organizational commitment. This finding promotes a new model of school governance affects teachers’ OCB through organizational commitment. Accordingly, this study suggests that school management improves OCB teachers through management engineering based on school governance and organizational commitment. Meanwhile, researchers can discuss the model before it is adapted or adopted in their future research projects.

Abstract

Kompetensi kepribadian sangat penting bagi guru, sekolah, dan dunia pendidikan. Karena itu, artikel ini bertujuan mengungkap efektivitas kegiatan workshop penguatan kompetensi kepribadian guru berbasis kepribadian proaktif. Kegiatan melibatkan partisipan 34 guru. Untuk mengukur efektivitas kegiatan digunakan kuesioner kompetensi kepribadian yang diberikan sebelum pelaksanaan dan dua minggu setelah pelaksanaan kegiatan workshop. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan menggunakan statistik deskriptif dan komparatif. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa workshop penguatan kompetensi kepribadian guru berbasis kepribadian proaktif cukup efektif meningkatkan kompetensi kepribadian guru. Temuan ini bukan sekedar memperkaya studi sebelumnya tetapi juga menunjukkan urgensi baru penguatan kompetensi kepribadian guru melalui kegiatan workshop kepribadian proaktif, terutama untuk mengembalikan “kehormatan” dan reputasi guru yang memudar di tengah-tengah situasi krisis kepercayaan peserta didik kepada guru. Selain itu, hal tersebut juga membantu tegaknya kompetensi profesional dan kompetensi pedagogik guru yang sangat dibutuhkan dalam kegiatan pembelajaran. Kata kunci: Kompetensi kepribadian, Kepribadian proaktif, Guru. Abstract Personal competence is essential for teachers, schools, and the world of education. Therefore, this paper aims to reveal the effectiveness of proactive personality-based teacher personality competency strengthening workshops. The activity involved 34 teacher participants. To measure the level of effectiveness, a personality competency questionnaire was used, which was given before implementation and two weeks after the workshop activity. The data obtained were analyzed using descriptive and comparative statistics. The results show that the workshop on strengthening teachers' personality competencies based on proactive personality is quite effective in increasing teachers' personality competencies. These findings not only enrich previous studies but also show a new urgency in strengthening teachers' personality competencies through proactive personality workshops, especially to restore teachers' "honor" and reputation, which is fading amidst a crisis situation of students' trust in teachers. Apart from that, this also helps uphold professional competence and pedagogical competence, which are needed in learning activities. Keywords: Personality competency, Proactive personality, Teacher.

Abstract

Abstrak Kompetensi sosial sangat penting bagi guru terutama untuk menjalin interaksi sosial dengan siswa. Karena itu, artikel ini bertujuan mengungkap efektivitas kegiatan workshop penguatan kompetensi sosial guru berbasis kecerdasan sosial. Kegiatan melibatkan 23 partisipan guru yang terdiri dari tujuh orang pria dan 16 orang wanita. Untuk mengukur efektivitas kegiatan digunakan kuesioner kompetensi sosial yang diberikan sebelum pelaksanaan dan empat bulan setelah pelaksanaan kegiatan workshop. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan menggunakan statistik deskriptif dan komparatif. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa workshop penguatan kompetensi sosial guru berbasis kecerdasan sosial cukup efektif meningkatkan kompetensi sosial guru. Temuan ini bukan sekedar memperkaya studi sebelumnya tetapi juga memberikan insight perlunya penguatan kompetensi sosial guru melalui kegiatan workshop berbasis kecerdasan sosial, terutama untuk meningkatkan kualitas interaksi sosial guru dengan siswa agar proses pembelajaran berlangsung lebih baik sehingga prestasi belajar siswa mengalami peningkatan signifikan. Kata kunci: Kompetensi sosial, Kecerdasan sosial, Guru. Abstract Social competence is very important for teachers, especially for establishing social interactions with students. Therefore, this article aims to reveal the effectiveness of workshops in strengthening teachers' social competence based on social intelligence. The activity involved 23 teachers consisting of seven men and 16 women. A social competency questionnaire was used to measure the effectiveness of activities, which was given before implementation and four months after implementation of the workshop activities. The data obtained was analyzed using descriptive and comparative statistics. The results show that the workshop on strengthening teachers' social competence based on social intelligence effectively increases teachers' social competence. These findings not only enrich previous studies but also provide insight into the need to strengthen teachers' social competence through social intelligence-based workshop activities, especially to improve the quality of teachers' social interactions with students so that the learning process takes place better so that students' learning achievements also experience a significant increase. Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui 1).Pengaruh kecerdasan spiritual dan kecerdasan emosional secara bersama-sama terhadap prestasi belajar akuntansi siswa SMK Swasta di Jakarta Utara, 2).Pengaruh kecerdasan spiritual terhadap prestasi belajar akuntansi siswa SMK Swasta di Jakarta Utara, 3).Pengaruh kecerdasan emosional terhadap prestasi belajar akuntansi siswa SMK Swasta di Jakarta Utara. Sampel yang digunakan 84 siswa sebagai sampel penelitian menggunakan teknik proposional random sampling dengan uji regresi linear berganda. Berdasarkan hasil hipotesis dan analisis data, disimpulkan sebagai berikut: 1).Terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan kecerdasan spiritual dan kecerdasan emosional secara bersama-sama terhadap prestasi belajar akuntansi siswa SMK Swasta di Jakarta Utara. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan nilai Sig = 0,000 < 0,05 dan Fhitung = 19,285. 2).Terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan kecerdasan spiritual terhadap prestasi belajar akuntansi siswa SMK Swasta di Jakarta Utara. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan nilai Sig = 0,002 < 0,05 dan thitung = 3,141. 3).Terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan kecerdasan emosional terhadap prestasi belajar akuntansi siswa SMK Negeri di Jakarta Utara. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan nilai Sig = 0,000 < 0,05 dan  thitung = 4,057
