Abstract

The Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise (MSMEs) sector has been recognized as an essential contributor to the economic development of Indonesia. However, the sustainability of MSMEs in Indonesia is still relatively low compared to the rest of ASEAN countries with similar levels of economic growth. This study aims to extend previous studies on the relationship between MSMEs characteristics and their sustainability by specifically including financial literation as a mediation role. This study used proportional random sampling as a sampling technique. A total of 191 MSMEs owner-managers questionnaire data were processed by using Partial Least Square analysis. This study confirmed the positive influence of MSMEs characteristics on financial literacy and financial literacy on the sustainability of MSMEs. Moreover, financial literation proves to be a significant mediator of MSMEs sustainability. This study suggests that MSMEs owner-managers need to be financially literate as it can enable them to make a good financial decision that can ensure their business sustainability.

Abstract

Purpose — There is a notable lack in the comprehensive and integrative understanding of in-store marketing factors, particularly understanding how store atmospheric affects impulse buying collectively in the context of souvenirs in developing countries. The current study full fill this imbalance by conducting an in-depth investigation into the impact of key in-store marketing variables: store atmosphere, store layout, point of purchase displays, and promotional signage on consumer impulse buying behavior. Design/methodology/approach — A quantitative data analysis technique is utilized, gathering information through structured questionnaires from domestic tourists purchasing souvenirs in Malang Strudel retailing chains in Greater Malang. Smart PLS SEM is used to analyze the interlink between variables, assessing 99 sample responses received through purposive sampling technique. Findings — Results indicates all four factors, store atmosphere, store layout, point of purchase displays, and promotional signage have positive significant impact on impulse buying of souvenirs purchases. It showed that pleasant lighting, hygienic ambience with appropriate music and temperature, easy and convenient placement of merchandise, eye-catching window displays, along with in-store advertisements, and appealing price discount signs were found to be effective in triggering spontaneous souvenir purchases among consumers. Practical implications — These outcomes offer valuable insights for retailers and marketers operating in a souvenir shopping context. They can make strategic use of these in-store stimuli in influencing and cashing in on souvenir impulse buying behavior for better sales and shopping experience. The results offer insights into the dynamics of impulsive buying of souvenir shopping, enhancing knowledge in the context of consumer behavior and retail management. Originality/value — This contributes to the existing knowledge on impulsive buying behavior identified in the context of souvenir shops within an emerging economy, with implications that the environment and behavioral factors contribute to consumer decisions in a tourism-driven retail setting.

Abstract

This study examines the relationship between entrepreneurship education and students' intentions and tests students to moderate the effects of students' perceived experience and family entrepreneurial orientation, which can strengthen or weaken the effect of entrepreneurship education on intention. This study also evaluates why Indonesian students become entrepreneurs and the important contributing factors and barriers to doing so. Data were collected from 584 vocational students at an Indonesian state university. All tests, including descriptive statistics and ordinary least squares regression, were analyzed using Stata 15.0, which effectively analyzes extensive sample surveys. The results prove a higher level of entrepreneurial intention in students from families oriented and experienced in entrepreneurship. Our results also reveal that student experience and having friends who become entrepreneurs reduces entrepreneurial intentions, but the difference is not statistically significant. Despite expanding research on education and entrepreneurial intention, the relationship between perceived experience, family entrepreneurial orientation, and students' entrepreneurial intentions has not been studied adequately, especially in the Indonesian context. But the difference was not statistically significant.

Abstract

Background: The integration of Stimulus-Organism-Response (SOR) framework and Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) is still in need of improvement, particularly in studies examining individual behavior in Indonesian e-commerce context. A common challenge in e-commerce adoption is individual willingness and intention to adopt, which is influenced by previous user experience. Consequently, there is a need for the establishment of standard to measure user experience in e-commerce.  Objective: This study aims to measure the post-adoption experience of e-commerce user, which will shape attitude and influence future continuance intention (CI).  Methods: This study integrated SOR and TAM frameworks, followed by the collection and analysis of data from 263 respondents using Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). Among the four hypotheses proposed, two represented novel contributions to the existing literature.  Results: The results showed a positive and significant influence of Interaction Experience (IE), Sense Experience (SE), and Flow Experience (FE) on Attitude Toward Using (ATU). The data analysis also indicated a positive and significant effect of ATU on Continuance Intention (CI). However, the influence of ATU on CI became insignificant when moderated by Shopping Orientation (SO).  Conclusion: Based on the results, not all hypotheses proposed in this study are supported. However, the results provide both theoretical and practical contributions.  Keywords: SOR, TAM, User Experience, Continuance Intention, e-commerce

The scope includes an analysis of the influence of social media use on the TPB model of cultural tourism. A review of previous research shows that the TPB model has had a positive impact and has helped investigate tourist behavior. Therefore, this research aims to analyze how attitudes, perceived behavioral control, and subjective norms from the TPB model influence tourist behavior towards cultural tourism in Sade Cultural Village, Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, from the Theory of Planned Behavior perspective. A total of 166 tourist respondents were sampled. This research uses quantitative methods. This research shows that the Theory of Planned Behavior model (attitude, subjective norms, and behavioral control) directly influences visiting intentions. Intensity of social media use has a moderate influence on subjective norms and the relationship between visiting intentions. Abstract

Human capital theory argues that if someone is given education, in the future their work productivity will develop, because someone has the knowledge and skills to carry out their work better. The nation's literacy rate has increased. Based on 2016 BPPS data, the imbalance between job opportunities and the workforce in Indonesia means that intellectual unemployment is increasing. A shift in the education system is needed, namely not producing graduates who are solely looking for job opportunities, but rather graduates who are oriented towards job creation, namely entrepreneurship and campaigning for the promotion of entrepreneurship in the PT world. Based on this, this research is very important to carry out because it will help reduce the number of educated unemployed, especially in the UB Vocational Faculty. Graduates do not only choose to become civil servants and formal jobs, but can become entrepreneurs to build the nation and state. Therefore, the researchers took the title "Development of an Entrepreneurship Spirit Training Model for Undergraduate Students: Solutions for Planning Future Careers". The objectives of this research are: 1) Identifying the needs for training in the entrepreneurial spirit of UB Vocational Faculty students. 2) Create a training model for the entrepreneurial spirit of UB Vocational Faculty students. And 3) Create a Spirit of Entrepreneurship training package for UB Vocational Faculty students. This research, both the first and second year, used the Borg & Gall model development research approach (1983:775). Research in Year I, step 1 The research team conducted a preliminary study to photograph the student training model which was continued in Year II, namely creating an entrepreneurship training package. The research team developed 2 versions of the training model in consultation with experts, then the product was revised. Small-scale and large-scale trials were carried out by the Research Team, so that in the end a final entrepreneurial spirit training model was obtained. This product is used as the basis for creating an entrepreneurial spirit training package. This entrepreneurship training model can be used after the entrepreneurial spirit training package (theme, objectives, modules/materials, schedule, place, presenters, participants, rules, etc.) has been created as a complement to organizing student entrepreneurial spirit training.
