Abstract

Breast cancer stands as a major health threat for women, often diagnosed as the most common cancer and the second leading cause of death among women. With its prevalence continually rising globally, breast cancer registers 18.1 million new cases and 9.6 million deaths annually. Global Cancer Observatory data for 2018 indicates 2,088,849 new cases and 626,679 deaths due to breast cancer among women worldwide. Breast Self-Examination (BSE), playing a crucial role in early detection, reveals that 85% of breast lumps are discovered by the individuals themselves.Previous research highlights that breast cancer cases in Kota Kupang are predominantly found in women aged 25-35, while late adolescents (17-22 years old) are also at risk. Therefore, prevention is advocated from a young age. Early detection methods such as BSE, clinical breast examination, and mammography are key in preventive efforts and intervention. BSE, as a simple and cost-effective method, empowers women to independently examine their breast conditions, detecting changes that may indicate breast cancer. Community engagement is conducted to provide information and understanding to the public about the significance of early detection of breast cancer through BSE, as a tangible step in reducing mortality rates associated with this disease. Abstract

Needle Stick Injury or NSI is a term for work accidents experienced by health workers caused by needle sticks or sharp medical objects that have been contaminated with infectious fluids from patients. World Health Report (2017) states that health workers are exposed to diseases due to needle stick injuries varying from 2.5% exposed to HIV, 40% exposed to Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C, while the transmission of viruses through blood borne in needle stick accidents is 30% of the Hepatitis B virus, 3% of Hepatitis C and 0.3% for the HIV virus. In RSUI Kustati Surakarta, the incidence in the last 4 years was 11 incidents. Objective: To determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and the risk of needlestick injuries in nurses. Methods: This type of research is an analytic survey with a cross sectional approach design. The study population was all functional nurses with a quota sampling technique of 55 respondents. Data analysis used Fisher Exact test. Results: good knowledge 45 respondents (81.9%) and less good 10 respondents (18.2%). Respondents at risk of NSI were 15 respondents (27.3%) and 40 respondents (72.7%) were not at risk of NSI. There is no relationship between education level and the risk of needle stick injury with Exact Sig value (2 sided) = 0.115.Conclusion: There is no relationship between the level of knowledge of nurses and the risk of needlesticks.

Abstract

Introduction: Pediatric subspecialty care, including multidisciplinary palliative care, tends to be located in urban academic centers or children's hospitals. Telehealth provides an opportunity to care for patients who would otherwise not be able to access services. We present a case in which telehealth was used to provide counseling services to a patient who was unable to receive services. The purpose of writing this review article is to determine the effectiveness of telehealth innovations used for children with palliative care during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: This systematic review results from searches from five electronic databases (Scopus, ProQuest, Web of Science, Science Direct, PubMed and Sage). The criteria for articles in this research are articles published in 2017 – 2022, full text, articles in English or Indonesian, and research methods using case study, descriptive, qualitative, cross sectional studies. The keywords used are ("teleheatlh" OR "telemedicine") AND ("children" OR "child") AND ("COVID-19" OR "COVID-19 Pandemic") AND ("palliative" OR "palliative care") . The review used the Joanna Briggs Institute Guidelines for quality reviews and the Prisma checklist to guide these reviews. Results : We found fifteen studies that met the inclusion criteria in the review. The included studies contain digital telehealth innovations in pediatric palliative care during the COVID-19 pandemic. Respondents in several studies were pediatric patients aged 7-18 years who were undergoing palliative care. Telehealth using the video conferencing method is effectively used in palliative care for pediatric patients during the COVID-19 pandemic. Conclusion: All studies reveal that telehalth is effective during the COVID-19 pandemic.
