Abstract

Background: Self-care management can be very helpful in reducing the risk of hypertension complications, but the fact is that there are still many people with hypertension who are currently unable to do self-care management. Many patients are not routine in controlling blood pressure, do not take medication regularly, and do not apply a healthy lifestyle. One of the success factors of hypertension self-care management is family support. Purpose: to determine the relationship between family support and self-care management in patients with hypertension. Method: This type of research is quantitative research with a cross sectional design. The sample in this study amounted to 60 respondents who were selected using the nonprobability sampling method with purposive sampling techniques. The data was tested using the spearman rank correlation statistical test. Results: The results of the study found that there was a significant relationship between family support and self-care management in patients with hypertension in the working area of the Kenten Health Center Palembang City with a p-value of 0.000 (p-value < 0.05). The correlation coefficient between family support and self-care management is 0.459 (quite strong). Conclusion: Family support significantly influences sufferers in improving self-care management to maintain their health status.

Abstract

Diagnosis is an integral part of quality health care in the nursing care process. Enforcement of the diagnosis can be optimal if accompanied by supporting objective data. Cases of nausea and vomiting that occur as a result of the effects of chemotherapy can certainly be minimized if the value of stomach acid is known, which is the objective data for these patients. This prototype is useful for assisting diagnosis in assessing the pH of stomach acid that occurs. Objective: The purpose of this study is to find a correlation value that can compare and assess the error score of the prototype being developed. Method: Research and development used in this study aims to determine the comparison of product values with the standard tools used. Sample consists of 55 selected reagents with pH results that will be compared between standard pH tools and prototype. Data analysis uses an accuracy formula based on the formulation Results: The data accuracy value was 99.87% and the data analysis used Mann Whitney with a value of> 0.05, stating that there was no difference in the score obtained from the prototype and the standard tools used Conclusions: These results indicate that the prototype with accurate values can be used to help obtain the pH value of stomach acid in cancer patients so that treatment can be given optimally.

Abstract

Cardiac arrest is one of the emergency conditions that can occur anywhere and can result in death if not treated immediately. Handling cardiac arrest can be done by providing basic life support by the community, including online motorcycle taxi drivers. Knowledge, attitudes and willingness of helpers in performing basic life support measures are needed to reduce the risk of death in victims of cardiac arrest. Objective: This research aims to determine the level of knowledge, attitudes, and willingness to perform basic life support among online motorcycle taxi drivers in Palembang city. Methods: A quantitative methods using descriptive study approach was conducted at Palembang City, South Sumatera, Indonesia in 2023. In this study, 106 online motorcycle taxi drivers were assigned using accidental sampling. The knowledge, attitude, and willingness to perform basic life support was assessed using a questionnaire. A descriptive analysis was conducted to describe the frequency and percentages of the variables. Results: The results showed that 46.2% of respondents had sufficient knowledge, 54.7% of respondents had a positive attitude, and 95.3% of respondents had a willingness to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation to immediate family members and relatives. The main factors of unwillingness to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation were the situation of the victim (42.5%). Conclusion: Not all respondents have good knowledge, positive attitudes and willingness to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation, so a strategy is required to provide basic life support education and training to the community.
