Abstract

Hydroxyapatite (HA) is widely used types of biomaterials for bone implants, surgery hard tissue and bone regeneration. The purpose of this research was to determine the effect of Ca/Pratio and pH on the synthesis of hydroxyapatite from sea shells with a low temperature hydrothermal method. CaO powder produced through calcination process of sea shells at atemperature of 1000°C for 24 hours. Then CaO powder as much as 45.91 grams dissolved in 600 ml of water and NH4H2PO4 added with ratio Ca/P 0.67, 1.67 and 2.67 and pH adjusted with variation 4, 6 and 9, then heated at 90°C until form a pasta. The pasta is then dried in the oven at 120°C and calcined at a temperature of 900°C for 1 hour. The results showed that increasing the ratio Ca/P and pH causes the diameter of HA crystals formed smaller with diameter at ratio Ca/P 2,67 and pH 9 was 52,32 nm. FTIR analysis showed peaks of PO4 3- and OH- that means the hydroxyapatite is formed. HA at ratio Ca/P 2,67 and pH 9 had the biggest %yield that was 77,73%.Keywords: Hydrothermal, Hydroxyapatite, Sea shells.

Abstract

In the oil well drilling and service process, NaCl and KCl used to provide hydrostatic pressure into the bowels of the earth. Brine solution unintentionally produced to the surface facility when oil lifting process perform and induce thickness of oil-water emulsion at separation tank. The objective of this study was to determine the effect of NaCl and KCl on the oil-water demulsification process at Bekasap field area, PT CPI Duri. This study was conducted by varying salinity of NaCl and KCl by 10%, 20%, 30% and 40% in 100ml oil-water emulsion sample with oil and water ratio 1:1. Demulsification of emulsion sample using precipitation method for 240 minutes, at temperature 60oC and recording increasing the number of free water every 20 minutes. The data obtained from study showed in the graphs indicate that emulsion separation speed tends to be slower due to increase of salt salinity. From the final result after 240 minutes of precipitation shown that emulsion separation process which influenced by NaCl salt is more difficult than the effect of KCl salt.Key words: Brine, Emulsion, Oil, Water,

Abstract

Bagasse is a by product from the processing of sugar cane into sugar. The growing number of bagasse quantitatively into environmental problems that require attention and special handling. The purpose of this research was conducted to study the effect of stirring speed variation and stirring time. Bagasse was reduced in size to 40 mesh, then added 250 ml of 4 N NaOH solution and stirred at a speed of 300 rpm for 20 minutes, after which the samples were heated in an oven at a temperature of 180 0C for 75 minutes, then the samples are removed and added to hot water ± 150 ml, then filtered and washed until the filtrate is clear. Samples added CaCl2 10% solution of 250 ml until the precipitate formed is then filtered, then the precipitate was dissolved by H2SO4 2 M, then filtered and washed using 96% ethanol as much as 15 ml. The filtrate heated using a water bath at a temperature of 70 0C ± 1 hr, then the filtrate cooled to oxalic acid precipitation in the form of white crystals. Results obtained was purified by recrystallization process using ethanol 96%. The crystals that formed were analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively, the qualitative analysis carried out by the test Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), while the quantitative analysis conducted by test melting point of the Melting Point Apparatus and calculate yield. Based on the research that has been done obtained yield (%) highest oxalic acid at stirring speed of 600 rpm and a stirring time of 50 minutes long as many as 0.92 grams, with a yield (%) of 6.133%.Keywords : Bagasse, calcium chloride, oxalic acid, sodium hydroxide, sulfate acid

Abstract

Tricalcium phosphate (TCP) is a ceramics material which is widely used for bone subtitude. Protein foaming-consolidation method is a technique for production of porous tricalciumphosphate (TCP) using egg yolk as pore creating agent. The purpose of this research was to investigate the effect of time and drying temperature effect on physical, chemical and mechanical properties of porous TCP and characterizing porous TCP as bones implant. This research start by mixing TCP powder, sago powder, Darvan 821A and egg yolk. The slurries were mechanical stirred at 150 rpm for 3 hours. Then, the slurries were casted in a cylindrical stainless stell moldand heated at 160oC, 180°C and 200oC for 5, 10, 15, 20, 30, 40, 50 and 60 minutes. Subsequently, dried samples were demolded and burned at 600°C for 1 hour.,For the final steps,samples were sintered at 1150oC for 1 hour. The results of porous TCP from this research was 45.90-61.70% for porosity, the density was 1.20-1.72 g/cm3 and the compressive strength was 8.04-8.64 Mpa.Keyword : tricalcium phosphate, egg yolk, porosity, density, compressive strength

Abstract

Hydroxyapatite is a ceramic material that has chemical composition and crystal structure similar to the human bone, then it iscompatible to use as bone implant. The most one of method that used production of hydroxiapatite is precipitation method. The aim of this research is to determine the kinetics reaction of the synthesis of hydroxyapatite using one drop precipitation method. The research was started with stirred 8.27 grams of CaO in 200 ml of aquadest.Then added with 1,8 M phosphoric acid in to while heated with a temperature variation of 40°C, 50°C and 60°C and stirring rate of 300 rpm. The solution in reactor were taken every 10 minutes by 20 ml volume. Further samples were filtered with filter paper, and then the filtrate was analyzed by complexometric titration. The results showed that the reaction followed pseudo second order equation. Constans of reaction increases with increasing temperature following Arrhenius equation, at stirring rate of 300 rpm obtained k = 1,97e- (13194,4 / RT).Key words : ceramic, hydroxyapatite, reaction kinetic, precipitation

Abstract

Magnetite/hydroxyapatite composites can be applied in biomedical fields such as drug delivery, orthopedics, protein adsorption/release, hyperthermia therapy, and solid phase extraction from plasmid DNA. The purpose of this study was to study the effect of reaction temperature and hydroxyapatite ratio on the crystallinity, crystal size, particle size, magnetism and morphology of the composites of magnetite/hydroxyapatite synthesized using the hydrothermal method. Composites were synthesized from 2 mmol of FeCl3, 4 mmol of citrate and 6 mmol of urea which were dissolved in 40 ml of distilled water and stirred at 300 ppm using a magnetic stirrer for 15 minutes, then added 7.5 g/L polyethylene glycol and commercial hydroxyapatite of various concentrations (70%, 80% and 90%) and stirred again for 1 hour. Then the suspension was put into a hydrothermal container and in the oven at a temperature of 200oC, 220oC, and 240oC for 12 hours. The magnetite/hydroxyapatite composite particles obtained were then characterized by X-ray Diffraction (XRD), and Vibrating Sample Magnetometer (VSM). The magnetite particles produced are cubicly shaped and hydroxyapatite were hexagonally shaped. The increase in reaction temperature from 200 oC to 240oC at the concentration of magnetite are 10% increased the crystals size of magnetite from 22,87 nm to 24,162 nm and crystal size of hydroxyapatite increased from 26,456 nm to 27,8 nm. While the increase in the concentration of magnetite in composite from 10% and 30% at 240oC increased the crystal size of magnetite from 24,162 nm to 27,472 nm, decreased the crystal size of hydroxyapatite from 27,8 nm to 26,288 nm. Magnetite/hydroxyapatite composite were superparamagnetic with coercivity 0,2 Oe and saturation magnetization (Ms) 4,2 emu/g. Abstract

Zeolite defines as hydrated aluminosilicate minerals which have 3 dimension framework structures formed of silica and alumina tetrahedral by sharing all the oxygen atoms and content with balanced metal load ions of alkaline or alkaline earth metals. Zeolite 4A is synthetic zeolite which have Na+ cation in balancing up the negative charge. Purpose of this research to get advantage from palm ash as a source of silica as feed for zeolite 4A and studied the influence of the palm ash size and ratio of reactan volume. The variation size of palm ash is 60,100, 200 mesh and unsifted ash. Sythesis of zeolite 4A doing by mixing sodium silicate and sodium aluminate with variaton of volume at 55:45 and 60:40 ml/ml and rate of agitation at 200 rpm. Then the gel formed will be heated in the oven at 80oC for 8 hours and washed until pH neutral. After washing process, sample will be dried at 120oC for 3 hours. Sythesis product analyzed with IR Spectroscopy and Xray Difraction. The best result was got in variation size 100 mesh and volume at 55:45 ml/ml.Keyword: Palm Ash, Xray Difraction, IR Spectroscopy, Zeolite 4A

Abstract

Senior High School 1 Batusangkar is a public school that has utilized technology in the implementation of school activities, starting from the presence of a website as an information room, using computers and the internet at school. In addition, this school is also equipped with four computer laboratories which are used for teaching rooms for students. However, in daily activities, the data generated by the school has not been integrated into an information system properly. This has become a momentum for the Department of Information Systems, UNAND in assisting schools in implementing, socializing and educating the school information system JIBAS (Inter-School Information Network) at Senior High School 1 Batusangkar as a tangible form of carrying out the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, namely community service. JIBAS is a school management information system that helps school operations ranging from academics, finance, libraries, reporting and teacher-student interactions. It is hoped that this system can help schools organize, manage and tidy up their data. Thus, this data becomes information that flows and is useful for various interested parties. The implementation method for this activity consists of three stages, namely preparation, implementation, and evaluation. After this community service activity was carried out, the school felt that this system was very good to be developed and used further for school activities as a whole. However, with the various other features that exist in JIBAS besides the Academic features, the school needs to study other features so that the effectiveness and efficiency presented by this system can be felt by the school..

Abstract

Android is a platform for smartphones that can be used anytime and anywhere. Smartphones can be felt in various aspects of human life, especially in education, as a medium of learning material between teachers and students. The development of Android-based applications needs special basic Android programming skills. The Informatics Subject Teacher Consultation of Padang (MGMP) is interested in developing a simple Android-based application but needs direction and guidance to learn Android programming. Therefore, a workshop was needed to develop an Android-based application using AppInventor for simple applications. The workshop provided more steps, essential knowledge, and new experience to be developed by MGMP Team to support duties as teachers.
