Abstract

The effect of substrate temperature and rf power on the characteristics of a-SiGe:H alloys thin films has been investigated. The a-SiGe:H films made from a mixture of 10% silane (SiH4) and 10% germane (GeH4) gas diluted in hydrogen (H2) were grown on corning glass 7059 by using Plasma Enhanced Chemical Vapor Deposition (PECVD) method. The results showed that the deposition rate of a-SiGe:H films increased with the increasing of substrate temperature and rf power. The optical band gap (Eopt) of the films was improved by increasing of the rf power. The dependency of Eopt on the rf power is attributed to the change in Ge content in the films. The photosensitivity (σph/σd) of the films deposited at 200 °C and 175 °C slightly increased with increasing of rf power from 30-50 Watt. For the films deposited at 225 °C, the photosensitivity increased with increasing of rf power from 30-40 Watt, and relatively constant at rf power of 40-60 Watt.

Abstract

TiO2:Co thin films were grown on Si substrates by Metalorganic Chemical Vapor Deposition (MOCVD) technique using titanium(IV)isopropoxide and tris(2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-3,5-heptanedionato)cobalt (III), and oxygen gas. The films grown at temperature of 450 oC were crystalline having a rutile structure with (002) orientation. Based on Energy Dispersive Spectroscope (EDS) analysis, Co content in TiO2 was 1.83% and films exhibit ferromagnetic properties at room temperature. Hysteresis curves obtained from Vibrating Sample Magnetometer (VSM) measurement have coercive and saturation magnetic fields of 130 Oe and 2.1 emu/cm3, respectively. Application of TiO2:Co as injection material in spintronic device with TiO2:Co/Si/TiO2:Co structure was investigated. The effect of polarized spin injection (magnetoresistance phenomenon) was observed from the current-voltage characteristics of the device.

Abstract

Thin film of TiO2:Eu had been grown on an n-type Si(100) substrate using Metalorganic Chemical Vapor Deposition (MOCVD) method with titanium (IV) isopropoxide [Ti{OCH(CH3)2}4] 99.99% and europium nitrate [Eu(NO3)3.6H2O] 99.99% as the metal organic precursors. The tetrahydrofuran (THF) was used as a solvent for the precursor. X-ray Diffraction (XRD) analysis showed that the TiO2:Eu thin film grown at temperature of 450 οC had crystal planes of rutile (200), rutile (002) and anatase (211), whereas film grown at 500 οC resulted in a crystal plane of rutile (002) with columnar grain and surface morphology relatively smooth. On the other hand, film grown at temperature of 550 οC has rutile (200) and rutile (002) planes. The surface morphology of thin films TiO2:Eu was affected by Eu atom concentration. The roughness of surface morphology increased with increasing Eu content and therefore the grains became larger. It can be concluded that the crystal structure and surface morphology properties of the films depended significantly on the substrate temperature.

Abstract

The Islamic concept of ta'awun is vital for an ideal social life. In rural Indonesia, jimpitan traditions—forms of Islam-based mutual cooperation—help address economic disparities. The study examines how religious perspectives intersect with cultural practices to enhance financial resilience in the face of poverty in Tugusari Village, Bangsalsari Subdistrict, Jember Regency, East Java. Key challenges include unequal resource distribution and inadequate daily education in Islamic values. This study examines ta'awun using a living Quran approach. It explores the views of community leaders, contextualizes Quranic verses, and assesses the role of ta'awun in poverty alleviation. The research uses the living al-Quran method in a micro-case study, integrating thematic Quranic exegesis, field observations, and in-depth interviews. This contextual method fosters economic resilience. The findings show jimpitan builds social solidarity, teaches resource management, encourages sharing, and reduces poverty through collective zakat and infaq. Jimpitan also fosters community cohesion and promotes Islamic values for sustainable development. Overall, ta'awun through jimpitan demonstrates a successful local, faith-based approach to poverty reduction.
