Abstract

This research explores the political communication by New Zealand Prime Minister JacindaArdern in the face of terror attacks of two mosques in Christchurch on March 15, 2019. The emphasis of research is empathy politics in a narrow framework and broader framework, namely the humanitarian framework. The study used the method of analyzing the content of speeches and Ardern statements and case studies with qualitative approaches and critical constructivist paradigms. The results of the study are Prime Minister JacindaArdern using various models and ways to show political communication in handling terror attacks against two mosques in Christchurch. The politics of tears is played as a form of empathy politics. Protection from minorities was also shown by Ardern. Hug is a form of political action to embrace. Ardern often gives greetings typical of Muslims.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explore the elements of the rhetorical situation in President Joko Widodo's (Jokowi) speech or statement relating to the Capital City of Nusantara(IKN) of the Archipelago. The research method adopted is rhetoric with a qualitative approach based on text and video. This study finds that Jokowi develops elements of a rhetorical situation starting from urgency, audience, and tension. Apart from that, other elements are social problems, situational relations, and context expansion. The six elements of the rhetorical situation show how President Jokowi is struggling to realize IKN Nusantara as part of the construction of Indonesia's future. In terms of President Jokowi's rhetorical situation strategy regarding IKN Nusantara, he uses a persuasive, deliberative, exemplary, and argumentative approach. Research has a real theoretical impact because it participates in developing and applying rhetorical situation theory. In addition, this research also has a very real impact in terms of practicality because it can be used as reference material and consideration by government leaders in formulating rhetoric in making statements or speeches

Abstract

After two years of the Covid-19 pandemic, the world is starting to move, as shown by the face-to-face learning process that has begun, including in empowering communities such as the Jami' Al Muttaqin Mosque Youth in Jakarta. The problem that partners face is the ability to communicate in English which is increasingly needed. The purpose of research-based community service development of learning models for teenagers at the Jami' Al Muttaqin Mosque in Jakarta is learning English, especially about Adjective to Express Personality and Appearance. The result of community service is to produce a learning model developed by researchers under the name INITIATIVE. It is a learning model that has elements such as Idealism, Neologism, Incrementalism, Tachism, Intuitionism, Activism, Territorialism, Instrumentalism, Vocationalism, and Essentialism. It has been applied in the community service process. The model is considered appropriate to be practiced in post-Covid-19 learning because it prioritizes creativity and innovation. The paradigm used in this model is constructivist based on critical reality in education. The model not only focuses primarily on students, but involves educators and other actors, namely institutions, both schools and communities

Abstract

The main objective of this research is mapping and exploring how the oppression and resistance of the main character (Kekayi) in Oka Rusmini’s short story Pohon Api are manifested through the strategic use of her own intellectuality, not only her beauty; her focus on future visions; and her attempt to garner support from the higher authority to win the competition. This research applied the qualitative approach with content analysis method. This research reveals that Kekayi, the main character in Oka Rusmini’s short story "Pohon Api", is an individual who is at an "intersection". She faces a series of oppression, discrimination, harassment, and unpleasant events which comes from all directions of the "intersection". Then, when a bad treatment is given, it will form a particular pattern that becomes habitual and eventually becomes an ideology. Furthermore, Kekayi possesses the capital to become a strong woman. That power is something given by the Almighty. However, she is also a female learner who always wants to be equal with men.

Abstract

The objective of this research was to explore and develop the narration of a religious movie 99 Cahaya di Langit Eropa in Indonesia to be applied in spiritual education at schools. This research applied qualitative method using content analysis and narratology approach. The result of the research was the development the movie narration which was focused on plot, performance or presentation, and focalization telling the interactions of the main characters with Westerners who are sentimental with Islam due to the issues of terrorism and the efforts to explain the position of Islam as a compassionate religion. The development of religious film narratives in Indonesia for spiritual education at schools should be based on everything related to spirituality.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi narasi perang yang dilakukan Presiden Ukraina Volodymir Zelenskyy pada akun Twitternya. Penelitian ini juga menggunakan metode penelitian narasi kepemimpinan dan melandaskan pada paradigma interpretif dan pendekatan kualitatif. Penelitian ini menemukan temuan penelitian yang menunjukkan kebaruan berkaitan dengan narasi perang yang diungkapkan Zelenskyy pada akun twitternya. Narasi perang itu menunjukan gaya kepemimpinan Zelenskyy seperti pemimpin lapangan, panglima perang, pemimpin diplomasi, dan pemimpin spiritual. Selain itu, narasi perang juga mengungkap strategi kepemimpinannya seperti menghamba kepada Barat, memusuhi Rusia, menuhankan senjata, dan membangun aliansi. Baik gaya dan strategi kepemimpinan Zelenskyy menguatkan posisinya sebagai pemimpin yang berusaha mempersatukan Ukraina untuk melawan Rusia yang disebutnya sebagai teroris dan penjajah.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to explore archetype in the Presiden Jebule written by Budi Darma through cultural anthropology and psychoanalysis. The research method is content analysis to guide the researcher analyze the short story. The finding of the research are focusing to analysis archetype based on Northop Frye’s theory and Carl J Jung’ theory. Presiden Jebule is focus about the image of a dictator who repress his society and the rhetoric using alliteration for repeating consonant to give some strong messages. Other findings are the dictator actually has bad experiences in the past, and Presiden Jebule becomes an icon to deliver his powerful to his society.

Abstract

FKMT (Forum Komunikasi Majelis Taklim) merupakan komponen masyarakat sudah berkembang luas di masyarakat. Mereka merupakan komunitas yang menjadi bagian dari masyarakat bersifat spiritualitas dan pendidikan. Dengan begitu, tujuan utama pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah memberikan pelatihan bahasa Inggris bagi anggota FKMT. Adapun hasil dari pengadian masyarakat adalah pengabdian masyarakat ini juga mengembangkan metode pembelajaran persuasif dengan pendekatan train for trainer.. Pengabdian masyarakat berbasis riset juga menerapkan komponen pembelajaran andragogi berbasis komunitas. Pengabdian masyarakat ini juga berusaha mengembangkan komponen pembelajaran andragogi berbasis riset dan empiris yang sudah teruji karena sudah dipraktekkan.

Abstract

This research aims to explore local wisdom in the phenomenon of political dynasties on social media in the figure of the Mayor of Solo, Gibran Rakabuming. Using a qualitative approach and psychological narrative analysis method, this research analyzes videos on Gibran's YouTube account. This research found Gibran's political dynasty motives, such as continuing the political leadership initiated by his father, utilizing primordial cultural support and patronage, maintaining his father's legacy of leadership, and building a political career for the future. Gibran's political dynasty strategy is to use family characteristics; using Javanese and Islamic traditions as tools, and adapting to developments in time and technology. Regarding the impact of political dynasties on Gibran, this research reveals wisdom in politics, building identity, showing oneself as a quality leader; and political dynasties do not destroy democracy, and show that political dynasties provide progress in various sectors.

Abstract

Abstract: Self-affirmation is an affirmation that reflects a person's views and ways of thinking through statements and attitudes. It is often associated with someone's position that shows the vision and mission that is carried out. Self-affirmation can be shown by people through various content on social media, including TikTok. For government officials or politicians, self-affirmation is an attempt to form an image on social media by displaying various political expressions. This study aims to explore the strategy and impact of self-affirmation as an image construction on Erick Thohir's TikTok account. By using qualitative content analysis, this study seeks to reveal self-affirmation with thematic analysis, which related to Nahdatul Ulama (NU) and the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI). This research found that the self-affirmation strategy used by Erick Thohir on TikTok is to prioritize creative and entertaining content. The impact of the self-affirmation that Erick Thohir pointed out was constructing his own identity with NU supporters and Indonesian football fans, as well as the formation of political polarization. Various contents on TikTok are able to support Erick Thohir's self-affirmation in his efforts to become a candidate for vice president in the upcoming 2024 elections. Keywords: Self Affirmation; Social Media Image; Expression; TikTok; Erick Thohir Abstrak: Afirmasi diri merupakan afirmasi yang mencerminkan pandangan dan cara berpikir seseorang melalui pernyataan dan sikap. Seringkali dikaitkan dengan jabatan seseorang yang menunjukkan visi dan misi yang diembannya. Penegasan diri bisa ditunjukkan masyarakat melalui berbagai konten di media sosial, termasuk TikTok. Bagi pejabat pemerintah atau politisi, afirmasi diri merupakan upaya membentuk citra di media sosial dengan menampilkan berbagai ekspresi politik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi strategi dan dampak afirmasi diri sebagai konstruksi citra pada akun TikTok Erick Thohir. Dengan menggunakan analisis isi kualitatif, penelitian ini berupaya mengungkap afirmasi diri dengan analisis tematik, yaitu terkait Nahdatul Ulama (NU) dan Persatuan Sepak Bola Seluruh Indonesia (PSSI). Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa strategi afirmasi diri yang digunakan Erick Thohir di TikTok adalah dengan mengutamakan konten yang kreatif dan menghibur. Dampak dari penegasan diri yang diutarakan Erick Thohir adalah terkonstruksinya identitas diri di kalangan pendukung NU dan suporter sepak bola Indonesia, serta terbentuknya polarisasi politik. Beragam konten di TikTok mampu mendukung penegasan diri Erick Thohir dalam upayanya menjadi calon wakil presiden pada pemilu 2024 mendatang.
