Abstract

Di Indonesia seringkali terjadi perbedaan dalam penentuan awal bulan Qamariyah khususnya Ramadhan, Syawal dan Zulhijjah. Perbedaan ini tidak bisa terlepas dari dua metode besar penentuan awal bulan Qamariyah yaitu ḥisāb dan ru’yat. Terlepas dari persoalan perdebatan antara penganut metode ḥisāb dan ru’yat, sesama penganut ḥisāb ataupun sesama penganut ru’yat, persoalan lain yang juga sering menimbulkan persoal¬an adalah tentang keberlakuan ru’yat dan ḥisāb atau yang dikenal dengan keberlakuan maṭlā‘. Pemaknaan konsep maṭlā‘ telah dikaji dalam perspektif fikih. Namun pemaknaan konsep maṭlā‘ saat ini dipandang tidak lagi memadahi dalam mengatasi perbedaan ter¬sebut. Untuk itu rekonseptualisasi (pemaknaan ulang) ter¬hadap makna maṭlā‘ me¬rupakan sesuatu yang sangat penting. Namun yang perlu dicatat bahwa re¬koseptualisasi tersebut tidak boleh keluar dari batas-batas ketentuan syar’i dan di sisi lain harus melibatkan dasar-dasar ilmu astronomi sehingga lebih up to date dan lebih mudah diterima secara rasional.***In Indonesia, frequently occured the differences on initial determination of islamic lunar month such as Ramadhan, Syawal and Zulhijjah. Apart from debate between ḥisāb and ru’yat, another issue that is also often raises is applicability rukyah and ḥisāb, known as validity of maṭlā‘. Meaning of the maṭlā‘s concept now seen no longer adequate and unable to overcome that differences. For that reason, reinterpretation of the maṭlā‘s meaning is something that is very important. However it should be noted that reinterpretation should not be out of bounds from Shari limitation and on the other hand must involve basic science of astronomy  so can make it more up to date and more easily accepted rationally.***Keywords: rekoseptualisasi, maṭlā‘, bulan Qamariyah, hilāl

Abstract

In Indonesia, frequently occured the differences on initial determination of islamic lunar month such as Ramadhan, Syawal and Zulhijjah. This difference can not be separated from the two major methods of determining begining of lunar month namely ḥisāb (calculation) and ru’yat (observing hilāl). Apart from debate between ḥisāb and ru’yat, another issue that is also often raises is applicability rukyah and ḥisāb, known as validity of maṭlā‘. Meaning of the maṭlā‘s concept now seen no longer adequate and unable to overcome that differences. For that reason, reinterpretation of the maṭlā‘s meaning is something that is very important.
