Abstract

Fasciolosis is a parasitic disease that affects ruminant animals and often causes losses among farmers in the form of decreased livestock productivity, even leading to death in animals. This disease is caused by an infection of Fasciola sp. parasites. This study aims to determine the vermicidal effect of Manihot esculenta crantz extract on Fasciola sp. in vitro, based on the duration of death. The samples used in this study were Fasciola worms taken from the Majeluk Slaughterhouse. This research used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 5 replications. The treatments in this study consisted of Leucaena leucocephala leaf extract at concentrations of 2.5%, 3.5%, and 4.5%l. Albendazole and negative control using distilled water. The data obtained were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA), and further tested using Duncan's test. The results of this study showed that Leucaena leucocephala leaf extract treatments at concentrations of 2.5%, 3.5%, and 4.5ml had significantly different effects (P > 0.05) in accelerating the death time of Fasciola sp. compared to the negative control (distilled water), but still lower than the Albendazole treatment. Administration of Albendazole, even at the lowest concentration (2.5%), caused faster death of the worms compared to Leucaena leucocephala leaf extract

Abstract

Salah satu tempat wisata di Lombok yang cukup terkenal adalah Gili Trawangan yang terletak di Kabupaten Lombok Utara, Nusa Tenggara Barat. Volume pengunjung yang banyak menghasilkan banyak sampah, baik organik maupun anorganik. Di Tempat Pembuangan Akhir (TPA) Bank Sampah NTB Bintang Sejahtera, sampah Gili Trawangan diolah. Sapi bali dipelihara oleh masyarakat di tempat pembuangan sampah. Sapi bali mempunyai tingkat adaptasi lingkungan yang tinggi diantara banyak manfaat lainnya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah plasma darah sapi bali di Gili Trawangan mengandung logam berat timbal (Pb). Berdasarkan hasil pemeriksaan sepuluh sampel plasma darah sapi bali dengan metode analisis AAS menunjukkan tidak terdapat kontaminasi logam berat timbal (Pb) pada plasma darah sapi bali (≤0,0036 mg/dL). Faktor internal yaitu umur dan bobot tubuh serta faktor eksternal yaitu jumlah zat toksik, konsentrasi dan lama paparan timbal yang mempengaruhi kadar logam timbal (Pb) dalam darah sapi bali.

Abstract

Echinococcus spp. merupakan parasit cestoda yang bersifat zoonosis dan dapat ditularkan dari hewan ke manusia, terutama melalui peran anjing sebagai hospes definitif. Infeksi Echinococcus spp. pada manusia dapat menyebabkan penyakit echinococcosis yang berdampak serius terhadap kesehatan masyarakat. Parasit ini telah dilaporkan keberadaannya di beberapa negara di kawasan Asia Tenggara, termasuk Indonesia, sehingga diperlukan upaya deteksi dini di berbagai wilayah yang berpotensi berisiko. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeteksi keberadaan telur cacing Echinococcus spp. pada feses anjing di Dusun Senggigi, Kabupaten Lombok Barat. Penelitian ini menggunakan 32 sampel feses anjing yang dikumpulkan secara purposive sampling di wilayah tersebut. Seluruh sampel diawetkan menggunakan larutan formalin 10% dan diperiksa menggunakan metode Native dan Sedimentasi. Pemeriksaan laboratorium dilakukan di Laboratorium Fakultas Kedokteran Hewan Universitas Pendidikan Mandalika pada bulan Desember 2025. Hasil pemeriksaan menunjukkan bahwa seluruh sampel feses anjing (32 sampel) tidak ditemukan telur cacing Echinococcus spp., sehingga seluruh sampel dinyatakan negatif. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini, dapat disimpulkan bahwa tidak ditemukan keberadaan telur cacing Echinococcus spp. pada feses anjing di Dusun Senggigi, Lombok Barat. Meskipun demikian, pengawasan dan pemeriksaan rutin tetap diperlukan sebagai langkah pencegahan terhadap potensi penyebaran penyakit zoonosis di masa mendatang.
