Abstract

In the present paper, a dynamic resource allocation scheme in orthogonal frequency-division multiple access (OFDMA) femtocells is proposed. In the proposed scheme, each femto base station dynamically selects the most appropriate subset of resource blocks (RBs) in a decentralized manner in order to mitigate the downlink cross- and co-tier interference. A game theoretic approach is used to model the interactions among autonomous entities, where each player attempts to maximize its own utility by choosing the best subset of RBs among the available RBs. The proposed utility function captures the cooperative behavior to manage the cross- and co-tier interference, which can be formulated as a potential game and demonstrated to converge to a Nash equilibrium. The simulation results show that the proposed scheme guarantees the convergence to Nash equilibrium and facilitates the femtocells to improve the throughput where the average 50% of user throughput above 7.3 Mbps, while minimizing the cross-tier interference to the macrocell network.

Abstract

Abstract— Radar or radio detection and ranging has a basic function to detect and measure a target range. One of the latest developments is Software Defined Radio (SDR)-based radar. An example of SDR implementation is by using Universal Software Radio Peripheral (USRP) as hardware and GNU Radio Companion (GRC) as software. The simplest radar type is pulse radar in which system timing is crucial. Meanwhile, in pulse radar system implementation using USRP and GRC, there is an issue with the random processing time delay between communication protocol of USRP and computer running the GRC, which causes incorrect measurement. This research aims to analyze the random time delay in the pulse radar system implementation by using USRP and GRC to anticipate the effect of random time delay. Pulse radar systems implementation is administered by transmitting 128 bits of Barker code and performing correlation between transmitted and received radar signal. Research result shows that the random time delay can be anticipated by making the direct reception from radar transmitter to receiver as the reference in range calculation.

Abstract

Communication is an important factor in smart-building energy management (SBEM). Many communications technologies have been applied to SBEM, including radio-frequency identification (RFID). RFID has been used not only for identification but also for carrying information, which is stored in a user memory bank attached to the tag. To access the user memory bank, an RFID reader should comply with ISO 18000-6C standards. The greatest challenge of RFID-reader technology is its short communication range, which limits the sensing area. To overcome this problem, this paper proposes a portable RFID reader built to an ISO 18000-6C standard to extend the sensing area due to its moveability. The reader is designed using low-cost devices widely available on the market for ease of duplication and assembly by researchers, educators, and startups. The proposed RFID reader can read passive tags with distances up to 12 and 5.5 m for line-of-sight (LOS) and non-line-of-sight (NLOS) communication, respectively. The minimum received-signal-strength indicators (RSSIs) for LOS and NLOS are found to be −63.75 and −59.66 dBm, respectively. These results are comparable with those of non-portable RFID readers on the market.

Abstract

Utilization human body with unique way to distinguish between one person and another already widely used in research. Biometric is a method for recognizing humans based on one or more physical characteristics or unique behaviors. Many previous researches of hand gestures used to control devices and identification. In This paper, we discusses the use of structure from motion method for optimization hand gesture. Structure from Motion ( SFM ) is the process to estimating the structure of 3-D shape from the series of 2-D images. The goal is to estimate the pose of the camera calibration results bits of the image to be reconstructed into a 3-D structure, from the scene and the scale factor is not known, then recover the actual scale factor by displaying an object of known size. The results from the trial by reconstructing four (4) drawing hand pieces and matched by detecting a hand gesture (3-D), from the stage of the process generated frame 2 + 3: match rate slightly (0) => relax SIFT threshold to 0.7 to 0 matches => SIFT relax the threshold to 0.8 with 2 matches => SIFT relax the threshold to 0.9 with 18 matches => SIFT relax threshold to 0.95 with 42 matches. From the test results obtained by the degree of fit pieces of the picture (2-D) to the whole image (3-D) resulted in 53,85% accuracy value.

Abstract

The major problem of using light fidelity (Li-Fi) technology is still limited to the line of sight (LOS) conditions, which poses a challenge to perform bandwidth efficiency to support increased bit rates, especially for indoor use. In addition, the distance between the lamp driver (transmitter) and the receiver becomes a critical discussion to determine the characteristics of propagation losses. Therefore, this study focuses on analyzing the performance of an indoor Li-Fi multiplexing system using a movable LED panel (LP) based on parameters of bit rate and distance variation on multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) 2x2 and 4x4. The parameter analysis of signal quality included optical and electrical signal spectrum characteristics, signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), bit error rate (BER), and Q-factor parameters. Based on the results, the increase in bit rate and distance significantly increases the BER value and decreases the Q-factor value. Both the 2x2 and 4x4 mux systems can meet standards up to a bit rate of 30 Mbps at a LOS distance of 3 meters, while at a bit rate of 40 Mbps, there are no channels that meet the ITU-T standard. In addition, the quality of the signal received at a distance of 4 meters, the 2x2 mux system can only reach the standard at a bit rate of 20 Mbps for all channels. However, channel 3 and channel 4 on the 4x4 mux system model still have the BER and Q-factor values that meet the standard in the bit rate of 30 Mbps. However, the decrease in the SNR value affected by the bit rate increase and distance is insignificant. Therefore, it becomes an opportunity for further observation of the proposed multiplexing system, detection scheme, or responsivity, and signal processing on the receiver side to be reliable on the higher bit rate.

Abstract

Salah satu dampak dari perkembangan Internet adalah hadirnya surat kabar online. Surat kabar online memiliki banyak keunggulan, diantaranya pengguna dapat mencari, mengunduh, dan berlangganan suatu artikel berita atau foto. Namun pemanfaatan surat kabar online oleh masyarakat dinilai masih rendah. Rendahnya pemanfaatan surat kabar online berpotensi menimbulkan penyebaran informasi yang kurang aktual karena informasi tersebut sering tidak dilandasi sumber yang dapat dipercaya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis faktor-faktor apa saja yang dapat mempengaruhi masyarakat dalam menggunakan surat kabar online. Model penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini sebagian besar diadopsi dari model Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT). Namun, berdasarkan beberapa pertimbangan, maka perlu untuk menambahkan beberapa variabel, seperti: perceived visual attractiveness, perceived enjoyment, image, dan perceived behavioral control ke dalam penelitian. Jenis metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan pengolahan data menggunakan teknik Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan perceived visual attractiveness, perceived enjoyment, performance expectancy, dan effort expectancy mempunyai pengaruh positif, sedangkan image tidak mempunyai pengaruh positif terhadap behavioral intention dalam menggunakan surat kabar online. Selain itu, perceived behavioral control dan behavioral intention mempunyai pengaruh positif terhadap use behavior pada surat kabar online.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Fly ash memiliki sifat pozzolan, dapat mengikat jika bereaksi dengan air. Proses peleburan biji nikel menghasilkan limbah berupa slag yang jumlahnya sangat besar. Bottom ash merupakan butiran material yang berada pada dasar tungku pada proses pembakaran batu bara untuk pembangkit listrik tenaga uap (PLTU) batu bara, bagian halus butiran terbang ke udara berupa fly ash. Tujuan yang hendak dicapai dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui karakteristik agregat limbah yaitu slag nikel dan bottom ash untuk bahan pembuatan beton dan mengetahui pengaruh fly ash type C sebagai bahan tambahan (additive) pada beton terhadap workability dan nilai kuat tekan beton. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa material limbah slag nikel dan bottom ash secara umum layak dan dapat digunakan sebagai bahan pembuatan beton, kecuali nilai serapan air bottom ash yang relatif tinggi yaitu 6,16 % melebihi batas serapan air yang dipersyaratkan yaitu maksimal 3%. Pemanfaatan fly ash type C sebagai bahan tambahan (additive) pada beton meningkatkan workability beton segar, nilai slump test semakin meningkat seiiring dengan penambahan persentase fly ash. Nilai kuat tekan beton meningkat seiring dengan penambahan persentase fly ash sebagai additive sampai kadar 30% dengan nilai kuat tekan 29,87 MPa, selanjutnya penambahan fly ash mengakibatkan kuat tekan beton menurun. ABSTRACT Fly ash has pozzolanic properties and has the ability to form chemical bonds with water. The process of smelting nickel ore produces a substantial amount of slag. Fly ash is the airborne residue of bottom ash, which settles at the bottom of the furnace during the combustion of coal in coal-fired steam power plants (PLTU). The objective of this study is to assess the characteristics of nickel slag and bottom ash when used in concrete, as well as to examine the impact of using type C fly ash as a concrete additive on both workability and compressive strength. The analysis determined that nickel slag and bottom ash waste can be employed in the production of concrete, despite the fact that the water absorption value of bottom ash, which stands at 6.16%, beyond the prescribed limit of 3%. Type C fly ash enhances the workability of fresh concrete and increases the value of the slump test. Fly ash initially increases the compressive strength of concrete by 30% to a value of 29.87 MPa, but subsequently reduces it.

Abstract

Weather is very critical for aviation. Especially regarding safety in air transportation. Badan Meteorologi, Klimatologi, dan Geofisika (BMKG) in its duties and functions provides aviation weather information, conducts the latest weather observation activities for the needs of takeoff and landing at airports. The World Meteorological Organization (WMO) has targeted automation with a target achievement in 2017. But currently in conducting the latest weather observations, BMKG still uses conventional weather observation systems even though at some airports Automated Weather Observing Systems (AWOS) have been installed. The automated weather observing system is still not fully implemented yet. This study aims to create a blueprint for the implementation of automatic weather observations for aviation services within the BMKG. Guidelines for making blueprint use the Enterprise Architecture Planning (EAP) framework. EAP defines business and architectural needs related to data, applications, and technology needed to implement automation. The final results achieved are in the form of a blueprint for the implementation of automated weather observing system for aviation services within the BMKG which can be a guide for BMKG in achieving the vision related to aviation weather services.

Abstract

Background: Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) are a health problem that is currently the focus of global and national attention. One of the NCDs that can be found is Diabetes Mellitus (DM). The chronic metabolic disease called diabetes mellitus is caused by an insufficient amount of insulin produced by the pancreas or the body being unable to adequately use the insulin it produces. Diabetes cannot be cured, but blood sugar can be controlled to prevent complications. Physical exercise or exercise is the third and very important aspect in controlling diabetes. One physical exercise that can be done is brisk walking exercise for 30 minutes. Objective: To find out whether the implementation of brisk walking exercise can reduce blood glucose levels in diabetes mellitus sufferers in Wall Village, Tejakula District, Buleleng Regency in 2023. The type of research used is quasi-experimental with a nonequivalent control group design. The sampling technique used was non-probability sampling, namely purposive sampling, namely 30 respondents (15 intervention groups and 15 control groups). The Wilcoxon test results obtained ????-value 0.001 < alpha (0.05), which means there is a difference in blood glucose levels before and after brisk walking exercise in diabetes mellitus sufferers. Based on this research, it is recommended that brisk walking can be used as a non-pharmacological therapy to reduce blood glucose levels.

Abstract

Lansia sebagai kelompok berisiko mengakibatkan konsekuensi pada tingginya proporsi masalah kesehatan pada lansia. Proses menua mengakibatkan penurunan secara bertahap hampir seluruh organ dan sistem dalam tubuh, baik fisik, mental maupun psikologisnya. Kelemahan fisik merupakan faktor risiko yang mengakibatkan penurunan kemampuan lansia untuk bisa menikmati kehidupan. Penyakit tidak menular pada lansia kwantitasnya juga sangat tinggi, seperti: hipertensi, diabetes miletus, Asma, rematoid dan gangguan gizi. Dilapangan juga banyak ditemukan satu orang lansia menderita lebih dari satu penyakit, jiga tidak jarang ditemukan seorang lansia menderita lebih dari satu penyakit. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat sebagai salah satu Tri Darma Pegruan Tinggi yang memberikan kontribusi transfer ilmu dan tehnologi kepada Masyarakat khususnya kader dalam pengelolaan asam urat. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini yaitu pelatihan kader dan pemberdayaan kader menggunakan modul Penyakit tidak menular dan buku pemantauan kesehatan lansia. Membat jamu bubuk kunyit, pelayanan lansia meliputi pemeriksaan fisik: menimbang BB dan mengukur tinggi badan, mengukur tekanan darah, menghitung denyut nadi dan pemeriksaan gula darah, asam urat dan kolesterol, membuka ruang konsultasi bidang kesehatan, sesuai hasil pemeriksaan dan keluhan yang disampaikan. Hasil pengabdian didapatkan bahwa sebelum dan setelah pelatihan kader lansia adanya peningkatan pengetahuan dalam pengelolaan penyakit tidak menular khususnya asam urat.
