Abstract

The research of synthesis and characterization of cellulose acetate membranes fromoil palm empty fruit bunches (OPEFB) had been done. The purpose of this research is tofind out the characteristics of the cellulose acetate membrane from cellulose acetate ofOPEFB. The cellulose acetate membrane was prepared using the cellulose acetate (CA)and chloroform as solvent in the ratio 1:6, and the variations of polietilena glycol (PEG) asadditives were 10%, 20%, and 30% w/w. Membrane characterization was done inpermeability (flux), permselektivitas (rejection), and membrane morphology. The test wasperformed on water, T-­70;; 1% w/v and T-­500;; 1% w/v dextran solution. The resultsshowed that cellulose acetate membrane had the best characteristic in the addition ofPEG/S 10% w/w. The permeability was 55.54 L/m2hour in water, 18.48 L/m2hour fordextran T-­70 and 5.14 L/m2hour for dextran T-­500. The perm selectivity was 67.24% fordextran T-­70 and 79.46% for dextran T-­500. The SEM (Scanning Electron Microscope)analysis on membrane pore showed that the distribution of pore sizes is fine.Keywords : membrane, cellulose acetate, oil palm empty fruit bunches

Abstract

NNitration on methyl ricinoleate can produce an additive for improving the cetane number of diesel oil. This article describes the effect of the addition of the H2SO4 and temperature variations on the concentration of nitration products. Nitration process on methyl ricinoleate was carried out by using a mixture of nitric acid, acetic anhydride and sulfuric acid. Based on GC analysis, it can be concluded that the nitration of methyl ricinoleate with an increasing amount of H2SO4 tend to reduce concentration of the product, while the increasing of temperature tend to the opposite. Nitration of methyl ricinoleate with addition of H2SO42.5% at 50°C was the optimum conditions in this study, where the concentrations of products was 23.74%. FTIR analysis showed that the product contained the new compound with nitrate group as a product of nitration.

Abstract

Penelitian tentang sintesis dan karakterisasi bioplastik dari pati ubi Nagara dengan penambahan kaolin telah dilakukan. Sintesis bioplastik dilakukan dengan metode melt intercalation dengan variasi jumlah kaolin 0-30% (b/b). Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan kaolin terhadap karakteristik bioplastik serta untuk mendapatkan jumlah kaolin optimum dalam pembuatan bioplastik. Bioplastik yang dihasilkan dianalisis kadar air, ketebalan, laju transmisi uap air, ketahanan air, kelarutan, biodegradasi, analisis gugus fungsional menggunakan FTIR, kuat tarik dan elongasinya. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang diperoleh, penambahan kaolin mempengaruhi semua karakteristik bioplastik yang dihasilkan. Nilai kuat tarik bioplastik yang dihasilkan meningkat dengan bertambahnya kaolin yang ditambahkan. Konsentrasi kaolin optimum dalam pembuatan bioplastik adalah pada penambahan 30% (b/b) kaolin dengan nilai kuat tarik sebesar 2,194 N/mm2.

Abstract

Telah dilakukan penelitian tentang skrining fitokimia dan uji toksisitas ekstrak n-heksana dan metanol dari daun kelopak tambahan tumbuhan permot (Passiflora foetida L). Skrining fitokimia dilakukan berdasarkan uji kualitatif dengan pereaksi spesifik untuk fitokimia tertentu dan uji toksisitas dilakukan berdasarkan metode BSLT (Brine Shrimps Lethality Test). Hasil penelitian tentang skrining fitokimia menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak n-heksana mengandung alkaloid, flavonoid, dan steroid sedangkan ekstrak metanol mengandung alkaloid, flavonoid, tanin, triterpenoid, steroid, dan saponin. Uji toksisitas memperlihatkan bahwa ekstrak metanol lebih toksik (LC50 546,56 ppm) daripada ekstrak n-heksana (LC50 821,41 ppm). Abstract

Telah dilakukan penelitian tentang skrining fitokimia pada biji kalangkala (Litsea angulata). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kandungan kimia biji kalangkala. Kandungan kimia yang diuji pada penelitian ini adalah alkaloid, triterpenoid, steroid, flavonoid, tanin dan saponin. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa biji kalangkala mengandung komponen kimia yakni alkaloid dan tanin. Kata kunci : kalangkala (L. angulata), skrining fitokimia, alkaloid

Abstract

Congo red sebagai salah satu bahan kimia organik sintetik yang banyak digunakan untuk industri tekstil dapat mencemari lingkungan dan tanah. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendegradasi zat warna dengan metode fotokimia menggunakan katalis TiO2 dan H2O2 serta pengaruh aerasi pada proses fotokimia. Larutan congo red 10 mg/L sebanyak 100 mL ditambah dengan TiO2 sebanyak 60, 80, 100, 120, 140 mg dan H2O2 sebanyak 0,1; 0,2; 0,3; 0,4; 0,5 mL disinari dengan lampu UV dengan variasi waktu 20, 40, 60, 80, 100 dan 180 menit. Konsentrasi congo red dalam larutan dianalisis dengan spektrofotometer UV-Vis. Degradasi congo red tertinggi (65,43%) dicapai pada TiO2 120 mg dan H2O2 0,4 mL dengan penyinaran selama 100 menit. Aerasi meningkatkan degradasi congo red secara fotokimia menjadi 80,03%.

Abstract

Isolation and identification of terpenoids compounds from n-hexane extract of permot bracts plants (Passiflora foetida L.) has been done. Crude powder of the bracts permot plants were macerated with n-hexane. Fractionated of n-hexane extract on a vacuum liquid chromatography to afford three fractions (A, B and C). Purification of fraction B with TLC preparative to afford isolate B1 and B2.. A compound of spectra UV-Vis B1 indicating the presence of conjugation of double bond (C=C), furthermore the IR spectra showed vibration for - OH group, C=O of the ester group, C-O group, and methyl group (-CH3) in position gem dimethyl. 1H-NMR spectra showed the signal from methoxy group (OCH3), olefin protons (-CH=CH-), protons in carbon to the oxygenation (C-OH), two units gem dimethyl, and three methyl group (-CH3). 13C-NMR spectra showed thesignal from carbon aliphatic group, carbon carbonil (C=O) of the ester group, double bond carbon (C=C), and carbon to the oxygenation (C-OCH3 and C-OH)). Based on the analysis of UV-Vis, IR, 1H-NMR, and 1H-NMR spectrocopies data, isolate B1 is suggested from terpenoids type triterpenoids pentacyclic that conjugation of double bond and ester group.Keywords: Terpenoids, triterpenoids pentacyclic, permot (Passiflora foetida L.), and n-hexane extract.

Abstract

This study aimed to isolate and characterize compounds from the distillation residue of cinnamon oil from Loksado, South Kalimantan. Cinnamon (Cinnamomum burmanii) distillation residue was extracted with methanol as solvent. The methanol extract was fractionated by liquid vacuum chromatography to obtain fractions A, B, C, and D. The crystals contained in fraction C were washed with cold n-hexane to obtain 5.4 mg of yellow isolate (FC1). FC1 isolates were characterized by UV-Vis, IR, 1H-NMR, and 13C-NMR spectrophotometers. UV spectra showed a maximum wavelength at 307, 316, and 321 nm indicating the presence of a conjugated or aromatic system. The infrared spectra showed -C=O, -OH, C-O, C-H, C-N, and C=N groups. The 1H-NMR spectra showed the presence of aromatic protons at 6.38 ppm (1H, d, J=9.5 Hz), 7.67 ppm (1H, d, J=9.5 Hz), 7.29 ppm (1H, d, J=8 Hz), 7.44 ppm (1H, d, J=8 Hz), and 7.49 ppm (1H, t) and there was a methyl proton (acetyl group) at H 2.13 ppm (3H,s). The 13C-NMR spectra showed the presence of a C=O ketone group at 207.26 ppm and there were 9 C-sp2 at 116.9; 119.0;124.6; 128.1;132.0;143.7; 154.3; 161.0 ppm, which δC 161.0 ppm was C-oxyaryl. Based on UV, IR, 1H and 13C-NMR spectra data, FC1 isolate was suggested as an isoquinoline alkaloid substituted by OH and acetyl groups. Keywords: distillation residu, Cinnamomum burmanii, alkaloid, isoquinoline.

Abstract

Telah berhasil disintesis senyawa trisindolina baru: 3,3'-di(5-bromo-N- metilindol-3-il)-5-bromoindolin-2-ona melalui reaksi substitusi aromatik elektrofilik 5-bromo-N-metilindola dengan 5-bromoisatin pada kondisi asam dengan rendemen 53% yang tidak sitotoksik terhadap sel normal (sel Vero). Metilasi 5-bromoindola menghasilkan 5-bromo-N-metilindola dengan rendemen 87%. Kata kunci: sintesis, turunan 3,3'-di(indol-3-il)indolin-2-ona, sitotoksisitas
