Abstract

Abstract:This research used two models of learning, they were Kumon and Conventional. The purpose of this study was to determine whether the Kumon learning method is better than conventional learning methods on students' mathematics achievement in learning material cube and bar. Based on the results of the pretest data processing, obtained the conclusion there is no difference between the students' mathematical ability early experimental class one and class two experiments. Then learning in both the classroom was, until finally done posttest to determine differences in student mathematics achievement. Based on the posttest data processing, obtained the conclusion that the mathematics achievement of students who get Kumon learning method is better than the students who received conventional teaching methods.  Abstrak:Penelitian ini menggunakan dua model pembelajaran yaitu model pembelajaran Kumon dan Konvensional. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah metode pembelajaran Kumon lebih baik dibandingkan dengan metode pembelajaran konvensional terhadap prestasi belajar matematika siswa pada materi pembelajaran Kubus dan Balok. Berdasarkan hasil pengolahan data pretest, didapat kesimpulan tidak terdapat perbedaan kemampuan awal matematik siswa antara kelas eksperimen satu dan kelas eksperimen dua. Kemudian pembelajaran di kedua kelas tersebut dilakukan, sampai akhirnya dilakukan postest. Berdasarkan pengolahan data postest, didapat kesimpulan bahwa prestasi belajar matematika siswa yang mendapatkan metode pembelajaran Kumon lebih baik dibandingkan dengan siswa yang mendapat metode pembelajaran Konvensional.

Abstract

Beberapa penelitian terdahulu mengungkapkan bahwa tingkat kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa berada pada kategori rendah dan harus ada upaya untuk mengatasinya.Tujuan penelitian   untuk menganalisis kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa pada materi Segiempat dan Segitiga yang dilakukan di kampung Paladeng Suci Kaler. Metode penelitiannya yaitu penelitian deskriptif dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Subjek penelitian sebanyak enam siswa SMP dengan kemampuan matematika tinggi, sedang, dan rendah, juga yang sudah mempelajari materi Segiempat dan Segitiga. Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini adalah wawancara dan tes tertulis.Teknis analisis datanya menggunakan empat tahapan, yaitu: pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil analisis jawaban siswa terhadap soal komunikasi matematis dan dari hasil wawancara menyimpulkan bahwa  kemampuan komunikasi matematis (tertulis)  dari enam  siswa yang diteliti diantaranya siswa masih sulit untuk memberikan alasan atas jawabannya, masih sulit membuat gambar dan mengekspresikan peristiwa sehari-hari ke dalam bahasa atau simbol matematik.Several previous studies revealed that the level of students' mathematical communication skills was in the low category and efforts should be made to overcome them. The purpose of the study was to analyze students' mathematical communication skills on the material of Quadrilaterals and Triangles conducted in Paladeng Suci Kaler village. The research method is descriptive research using a qualitative approach. The research subjects were six junior high school students with high, medium, and low mathematical abilities, also those who had studied the quadrilateral and triangle material. Data collection techniques in this study were interviews and written tests. Technical analysis of the data uses four stages, namely: data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the analysis of students' answers to mathematical communication questions and from the interviews concluded that the mathematical communication skills (written) of the six students studied were still difficult to give reasons for their answers, still difficult to take pictures and express everyday events into language or math symbols.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang masih rendah. Tujuan penelitian  untuk memperoleh deskripsi kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa kelas VIII pada pembelajaran matematika. Metode penelitiannya deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek penelitian adalah 4 siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 7 Garut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan (1) Kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa pada materi Penyajian Data kelas VIII SMP Negeri 7 Garut di Kampung Cigulawing, secara umum dikatakan kurang baik. Dikarenakan sebagian besar siswa belum mampu memenuhi semua indikator; (2) Siswa dengan kemampuan matematika tinggi mampu mencapai hampir seluruh indikator kemampuan komunikasi matematika; (3) Siswa dengan kemampuan matematika sedang kurang menguasai beberapa indikator kemampuan komunikasi matematis; (4) Siswa dengan kemampuan matematika rendah belum mampu menguasai indikator kemampuan komunikasi matematis.This research is motivated by the students' low mathematical communication skills. The research objective was to obtain a description of the students' mathematical communication skills in class VIII in mathematics learning. The research method is descriptive qualitative. The research subjects were 4 grade VIII students of SMP Negeri 7 Garut. The results showed (1) the students' mathematical communication skills in the data presentation material of class VIII SMP Negeri 7 Garut in Cigulawing Village, were generally said to be less good. Because most students have not been able to meet all the indicators; (2) Students with high mathematical abilities can achieve almost all indicators of mathematical communication skills; (3) Students with moderate mathematical abilities have not mastered several indicators of mathematical communication skills; (4) Students with low math abilities have not been able to master the indicators of mathematical communication skills.

Abstract

Penelitian dilatarbelakangi atas rendahnya kemampuan berpikir kreatif yang dalah satunya disebabkan kurangnya self confidence siswa. Penelitian bertujuan menganalisis bagaimana kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis ditinjau dari self confidence. Penelitian deskriptif kualitatif ini melibatkan lima orang siswa kelas VIII di Desa Simpang  Kecamatan Cikajang Kabupaten Garut sebagai subjek penelitian. Instrumen yang digunakan berbentuk soal tes tertulis, Wawancara, dan Observasi. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa self confidence siswa mempengaruhi kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis siswa. Siswa yang mempunyai  semua indikator self confidence cenderung memiliki satu indikator kemampuan berpikir kreatif yaitu elaboration atau menguraikan secara runtut langkah penyelesaian masalah.Sedangkan siswa yang hanya mempunyai satu indikator self confidence cenderung tidak memiliki indikator kemampuan berpikir kreatif. Dengan demikian self confidence merupakan salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis.The background of this research is the low ability of creative thinking skills, one of which is the lack of student self-confidence. This study aims to analyze how mathematics creative thinking in terms of self-confidence. This qualitative descriptive study involved five eighth-grade students in Simpang Village, Cikajang District, Garut Regency as research subjects. The instruments used are in the form of written test questions, interviews, and observations. Based on the results of data analysis, it was concluded that students' self-confidence influenced students' mathematical creative thinking abilities. Students who have all indicators of self-confidence tend to have one indicator of creative thinking skills, namely elaboration or describing coherently the problem-solving steps. Meanwhile, students who only have one indicator of self-confidence tend not to have indicators of creative thinking skills. Thus self-confidence is one of the factors that affect to mathematics creative thinking.

Abstract

Tujuan pada penelitian ini ialah  mengembangkan modul geometri analitik berbasis REACT berbantuan geogebra yang memenuhi kriteria valid, praktis dan efektif.untuk mahasiswa IKIP Siliwangi. Adapun model yang digunakan dalam pengembangaan yaitu model 4-D (Define, Design, Development, dan Disseminate). Subjek penelitian ini mahasiswa Pendidikan Matematika angkatan 2020 berjumlah 18 orang. Alat pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini berupa  angket serta tes yang memuat soal uraian mengenai kemampuan berpikir kritis. Dari hasil pengolahan data didapat kesimpulan bahwa modul pembelajaran yang dikembangkan dikategorikan valid dengan nilai rata-rata sebesar 92,06, dikategorikan praktis dengan nilai rata-rata sebesar 72,85 dan dikategorikan efektif dengan nilai rata-rata sebesar 75,25. Denga demikian modul geometri analitik berbasis REACT berbantuan geogebra sangat tepat digunakan dalam pembelajaran geometri untuk tingkat mahasiswa. The purpose of this study is to develop an analytical geometry module based on REACT with the aid of geogebra that meets the valid, practical and effective criteria for students of IKIP Siliwangi. The model used in the development is a 4-D model (Define, Design, Development, and Disseminate). The subjects of this study were 18 students of Mathematics Education class of 2020. Data collection tools in this study were in the form of questionnaires and tests containing descriptions of critical thinking skills. From the results of data processing, it can be concluded that the learning module developed is categorized as valid with an average value of 92.06, categorized as practical with an average value of 72.85 and categorized as effective with an average value of 75.25. Thus, the REACT-based analytic geometry module with the aid of Geogebra is very appropriate to be used in geometry learning for the student level.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the errors made by students when solving problems on the material of circles and conic sections. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method. The subjects in the study consisted of 30 students of the Mathematics Education Study Program, IKIP Siliwangi Bandung. The instrument of this research is a written test in the form of a description of 4 questions. The data processing was carried out in three stages, namely the reduction stage, the presentation and drawing conclusions from the data. Based on the results of the study, it showed that students' errors in solving analytic geometry problems consisted of conceptual, procedural and technical errors. The causes of conceptual errors are student errors in stating the formula used when solving the problems presented, students do not understand the material and do not know how to solve problems. The cause of procedural errors is that students lack practice when completing the given practice questions, students do not understand the process of solving problems correctly. The cause of technical errors is the lack of skill of students in the process of calculating in an operation and students' inaccuracy in the calculation process, less thorough and in a hurry when solving problems so they do not re-check what has been done

Abstract

Communication plays an important role in assisting students in constructing concepts and establishing links between abstract ideas and language and mathematical symbols. The purpose of this study was to determine students' mathematical communication skills on the material of equations and quadratic functions in terms of gender differences in Sukamenak village. The population in this study were students of SMP/MTs equivalent in the village of Sukamenak, while the sample was selected based on purposive sampling technique, with as many as 6 students consisting of 3 male students and 3 female students. Based on the description and analysis of the results of the research that has been done, it is known that male students get an overall score of 45, with a percentage of 75%, so that they are included in high mathematical communication skills, while female students get an overall score of 50, with a percentage of 83%, so it is included in the category of high mathematical communication skills. So, it can be concluded that the students' mathematical communication skills in the matter of equations and quadratic functions in Sukamenak village in terms of gender differences obtained similarities, both male students and female students belonging to the high category of mathematical communication skills.Komunikasi memainkan peranan yang penting dalam membantu siswa dalam membina konsep dan membina perkaitan antara ide dan bahasa abstrak dengan simbol matematika.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa pada materi persamaan dan fungsi kuadrat ditinjau dari perbedaan gender di desa sukamenak. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa SMP/MTs sederajat yang berada di desa sukamenak, sedangkan sampel dipilih berdasarkan teknik purposive sampling sebanyak 6 orang siswa yang terdiri dari 3 orang siswa laki-laki dan 3 orang siswa perempuan. Berdasarkan deskripsi dan analisis hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan, diketahui bahwa: Siswa laki-laki memperoleh keseluruhan skor sebanyak 45, dengan persentase sebesar 75%, sehingga termasuk dalam kemampuan komunikasi matematis yang tinggi, sedangkan siswa perempuan memperoleh keseluruhan skor sebanyak 50, dengan persentase sebesar 83%, sehingga termasuk dalam kategori kemampuan komunikasi matematis yang tinggi. Jadi, dapat disimpulkan bahwa kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa pada materi persamaan dan fungsi kuadrat di desa Sukamenak ditinjau d perbedaan gender diperoleh kesamaan, baik siswa laki-laki maupun siswa perempuan tergolong kedalam kemampuan komunikasi matematis kategori tinggi.

Abstract

Kemampuan komunikasi matematis masih rendah. Perlu analisis untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan komunikasi matematis, diantaranya ditinjau dari self regulated learning siswa pada materi sistem persamaan linear dua variabel. Penelitian dilakukan secara kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Subjek penelitian yaitu tiga siswa kelas VIII SMP di Cimuncang, dipilih secara purposive. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes kemampuan komunikasi matematis, angket self regulated learning siswa, dan wawancara. Teknik analisis data dilakukan dengan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dua subjek dengan kategori self regulated learning tinggi, salah satunya belum memenuhi keempat indikator yang diaplikasikan dalam tes kemampuan komunikasi matematis. Sedangkan satu lainnya mampu memenuhi dua indikator. Satu siswa dengan self regulated learning sedang belum memenuhi satupun indikator kemampuan komunikasi matematis. Self regulated learning menjadi faktor yang perlu diperhatikan terkait dengan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa.Mathematical communication skills are still low. An analysis is needed to describe mathematical communication skills, including in terms of students' self-regulated learning of the material of a two-variable linear equation system. The research was conducted qualitatively with a descriptive method. The research subjects were three grade VIII junior high school students in Cimuncang, selected purposively. Data collection techniques used mathematical communication skills tests, student self-regulated learning questionnaires, and interviews. The data analysis technique was carried out by data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results showed that in two subjects with a high self-regulated learning category, one of them did not meet the four indicators applied in the mathematical communication ability test. While the other one can meet two indicators. One student with moderate self-regulated learning has not met any of the indicators of mathematical communication skills. Self-regulated learning is a factor that needs to be considered related to students' mathematical communication skills.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to examine the effectiveness of applying Geogebra-assisted REACT strategy to improve students' critical thinking. The experimental method is the method chosen in this study. The population of this study were all students of the Mathematics Education Study Program, IKIP Siliwangi Bandung, while the sample was students of the Class of 2020 of the Mathematics Education Study Program of 2 classes. In this study, an instrument in the form of a description of 4 items was used to measure critical thinking. Data analysis used descriptive statistics and inferential statistics with the help of SPSS version 21. Based on the results of data processing, it was concluded that the application of the REACT strategy assisted by GeoGebra was more effective in improving critical thinking skills than conventional learning.Tujuan pada penelitian ini untuk menelaah keefektifan penerapan strategi REACT berbantuan Geogebra untuk  meningkatkan berpikir kritis mahasiswa. Metode eksperimen merupakan metode yang dipilih dalam penelitian ini. Populasi penelitian ini adalah semua mahasiswa Prodi Pendidikan Matematika IKIP Siliwangi Bandung, sedangkan sampelnya adalah mahsiswa Angkatan 2020 Prodi Pendidikan Matematika sebanyak 2 kelas . Dalam penelitian ini digunakan instrumen berupa  soal uraian sebanyak 4 butir soal yang digunakan dalam mengukur berpikir kritis. Analisis data yang digunakan dengan menggunakan statistik deskriptif  dan statistik inferensial dengan bantuan SPSS versi  21. Berdasarkan hasil pengolahan data didapat kesimpulan bahwa penerapan strategi REACT berbantuan Geogebra lebih efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dibandingkan pembelajaran konvensional.

Abstract

Abstract One of the factors of failure in learning is the lack of students' mathematical problem-solving abilities. One of the factors that affect the ability to solve mathematical problems is self-confidence. The purpose of this study is to analyze mathematical problem-solving ability based on high self-confidence. This study uses a qualitative method, the population in this study is public junior high school students in the Malangbong sub-district. The sample was chosen by 4 students to be the subject of the interview. The instruments used are questionnaires, tests, and interview guidelines. The results obtained from this study, some students are not able to understand the problem of rectangular pyramids, most students are not able to understand the problem of rectangular blocks and pyramids, all students are not able to plan solutions, namely the formula for the perimeter of the pyramid, the formula for the length of the entire side of the beam, the formula for the surface area rectangular pyramid, and the formula for the area of the inner wall in the form of a block, all students were not able to plan using the formula for the perimeter of the pyramid, the formula for the length of the entire side of the beam, the formula for the surface area of a rectangular pyramid, and the formula for the area of the inner wall in the form of a block. Abstrak Salah satu faktor ketidak berhasilan dalam belajar yaitu kurangnya kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa. Salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis yaitu self-confidence. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk menganalisis kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis berdasarkan self-confidence tinggi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif, populasi pada penelitian ini adalah siswa SMP Negeri yang berada di kecamatan malangbong. Sample dipilih 4 siswa untuk dijadikan subjek wawancara. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah angket, tes, dan pedoman wawancara. Hasil yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini, sebagian siswa tidak mampu memahami masalah limas persegi empat, sebagian besar siswa tidak mampu memahami masalah balok dan limas persegi panjang, semua siswa tidak mampu merencanakan penyelesaian yakni rumus keliling limas, rumus panjang seluruh rusuk balok, rumus luas permukaan limas persegi panjang, dan rumus luas dinding bagian dalam berbentuk balok, semua siswa tidak mampu melakukan rencana dengan menggunakan rumus keliling limas, rumus panjang seluruh rusuk balok, rumus luas permukaan limas persegi panjang, dan rumus luas dinding bagian dalam berbentuk balok.
