Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the differences in physical conditions between female swimmers from the Moyosyaqi Swimming Club in Lombok and female swimmers from East Java. The results of this study can be used as a basis for evaluating the training program planning for the Moyosyaqi Swimming Club.The methods used in this study include measuring speed through a 30m sprint, assessing leg muscle strength using the Leg Dynamometer test, determining flexibility through the Standing Trunk Flexion test, and evaluating endurance (VO2max) using the MFT (Multilevel Fitness Test). Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that the average sprint speed of female swimmers from the Moyosyaqi Swimming Club in Lombok was 5.26 m/s, classified as "below average" in terms of time. The average leg muscle strength was 46.56 kg, classified as "very poor", the average flexibility was 20.2 cm, classified as "excellent", and the average VO2max endurance was 27.96 ml/kg/min, classified as "poor". The average difference in speed between the female swimmers from East Java and the female swimmers from Moyosyaqi Swimming Club was 0.37 m/s, the difference in leg muscle strength was 27.74 kg, the difference in flexibility was 6.18 cm, and the difference in VO2max endurance was 16.24 ml/kg/min.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan pemahaman dan kesadaran masyarakat mengenai pentingnya pemanduan bakat olahraga pada anak usia dini, khususnya di wilayah Lombok Timur. Anak-anak usia dini memiliki potensi yang sangat besar dalam pengembangan bakat olahraga, namun sering kali kurang mendapatkan perhatian atau fasilitas yang memadai untuk menumbuhkan minat dan bakat mereka. Melalui kegiatan sosialisasi yang melibatkan orang tua, pendidik, dan masyarakat setempat, program ini diharapkan dapat memberikan pengetahuan tentang pentingnya deteksi dini bakat olahraga, serta memberikan keterampilan dasar dalam melakukan pendekatan yang tepat terhadap pengembangan potensi anak. Kegiatan ini melibatkan pelatihan, diskusi, dan simulasi yang difokuskan pada teknik-teknik pemanduan bakat olahraga yang sesuai dengan usia dan perkembangan anak. Hasil dari kegiatan ini menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman masyarakat tentang pentingnya pemanduan bakat olahraga dan penerapan metode yang lebih efektif dalam mendukung tumbuh kembang anak di bidang olahraga. Di samping itu, kegiatan ini juga memberikan kontribusi positif terhadap peningkatan kualitas pendidikan dan pengembangan bakat olahraga di wilayah Lombok Timur.

Abstract

The crescent kick is a high-scoring pencak silat technique requiring rapid lower-limb actions; two commonly used training approaches are ankle-weight (AW) and agility ladder drills (LD), yet comparative evidence in adolescents remains limited. This study examined the effects of AW and LD on crescent-kick frequency and compared their effectiveness. Using a 5-week quasi-experimental pretest–posttest design, twenty male adolescent athletes were equally allocated to AW (n=10) and LD (n=10). The primary outcome was the number of correct crescent kicks in 10 seconds on the dominant side. Analyses employed within-group paired t-tests and between-group independent t-tests (α=0.05). Both groups improved significantly (AW: 14.30±1.34 to 22.50±1.96; Δ=+8.20; t=21.09; p<0.001; LD: 14.50±1.27 to 21.70±1.06; Δ=+7.20; t=24.78; p<0.001). Post-test means did not differ significantly (mean difference 0.80; p=0.275), indicating comparable effectiveness. Coaches may select either approach based on equipment availability, coaching preferences, and periodization phase.
