Abstract

Capture fisheries is a source of livelihood for fishermen. Fishers in Arongan Lambalek are still classified as traditional fishermen and still use simple fishing gear in their operations. One of the fishing gear used is Lift Nets (Ali) fishing gear to catch shrimp. This study aims to determine the income of traditional fishermen using Lift Nets (Ali) fishing gear in Arongan Lambalek District, West Aceh Regency. This research was conducted from June to July 2020. The data collection method was purposive sampling method with 20 respondents. The analyzes used total cost, total beneficiary, profit and RCR. The results showed that, the amount of catch of fishermen using Lift Nets (Ali) fishing gear in Arongan Lambalek District was 2.872 kg / month with an average of 144 kg / month / fisherman, the total cost of 20 fishermen was Rp. 24.540,278 with an average total cost of Rp.1.227,013 months / fisherman, the amount of revenue from 20 fishermen is Rp.73.235,000 / month with an average income of Rp. 3.661,750 months / fisherman and income from 20 fishermen is Rp.48.694.722 / month and the average income of fishermen is Rp.2.434.736 / month and the average RCR of Rp.2.98 months / fisherman, which means RCR> 1, then traditional fishing business using Lift Nets (Ali) fishing gear is feasible.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Desa Blang Kuala Kecamatan Meukek, Kabupaten Aceh Selatan memiliki potensi daerah yang belum termanfaatkan secara maksimal. Salah satunya adalah potensi di bidang perikanan. Program Kemitraan Wilayah (PKW) oleh Tim PKW LPPM Universitas Teuku Umar bekerjasama dengan mitra LPPM Universitas Syiah Kuala dan Pemerintahan Kabupaten Aceh Selatan bertujuan untuk memaksimalkan potensi yang ada melalui pemberdayaan masyarakat. Metode yang akan digunakan untuk pelaksanaan PKW adalah metode pemberdayaan masyarakat dengan yang mengupayakan partisipasi masyarakat untuk belajar dan beraktivitas secara berkelanjutan dalam rangka meningkatkan kualitas hidup mereka. Aktivitas-aktivitas yang dilaksanakan selama proses pendampingan adalah pembangunan tempat Demontrasi Plot (DEMPLOT) budidaya lele sistem bioflok, pelatihan pembuatan konstruksi kolam budidaya sistem bioflok, pelatihan pemeliharaan budidaya lele sistem bioflok, sampai dengan pendampingan pemanenan. Hasil kegiatan IbW Kecamatan Meukek diharapkan dapat berkesinambungan dan menjadi pusat pembelajaran dan pelatihan budidaya lele sistem bioflok bagi masyarakat di desa Blang Kuala khususnya dan masyarakat Aceh Selatan pada Umumnya. Sehingga dengan adanya tempat kegiatan budidaya sistem bioflok ini dapat meningkatkan pendapatan keluarga secara berkesinambungan sehingga kesejahteraan dapat dirasakan oleh masyarakat yang akan berefek pada peningkatan intensitas keterlibatan masyarakat dalam program pembangunan yang dicanangkan pemerintah. Abstract

Prospect of fishing business of mud crab has became the right choice because demand of mud crab is increasing and market price is relatively good. The availability mud crab for local market in West Aceh District is affected by minimum catch, unefficient fishing, where fishermen is still using traditional fishing gear i.e. scoop net as well as having internal factor and external factor. Because of that, the potential business for mud crab fishing with eco-friendly fishing gear i.e. traps is very good to applied. Applying traps was carried out at Kuala Bubon Village Samatiga Sub district Aceh Barat District Aceh Province. Applying traps is for pilot project for fisherman. The Methods include 1) mentoring and sosialization traps; 2) training for making traps and 3) operating traps. Result of the activity show 1) fish catching using traps is better than using scoop net; 2) increased skilll  for fishermen about making traps and 3) increased understanding for fisherman about using eco-friendly fishing gear to catching mud crab. Applying traps for fisherman community is very potential to developed for mud crab fishing business.

Abstract

Tuna is the main Indonesian marine fishery commodity. Tuna meat has nutritional content and tastes that are liked by all people ans is a raw material for processed foods that are available throughout the year. This service activity aims to provide knowledge and skiils on how to make tuna sticks for hausewiives in kuta blang village. The service activity method uses the lecture method for knowledge transfer and technical guidance for direct practice. There are stages of this activity, namely the first stage (1), providing knowledge and theory about the handling of materials and processing tuna fish sticks, the second stage (2), namely giving practice directl to the village women of kuta blang how to process tuna sticks, and the third stage (3), namely training activities carried out through mentoring to women from the village of kuta blang regarding the packaging process after processing tuna into tuna stick products. Assistance is provided in producing tuna sticks both on a household scale and also for marketing. This training involved members of village development students who were accompanied by fish cadres white participanted in the activity from beginning to end and succeeded in making very good tuna fish sticks and have also been able to produce tuna fish sticks both for household scale and to be marketed.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui dosis hormon 17α-metiltestoteron yang optimal untuk pembentukan kelamin jantan ikan lele sangkuriang (Clarias sp). Metode penelitian eksperimental menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Pada benih lele sangkuriang yang berumur 20 hari direndam dengan hormon 17α-metiltestoteron dengan dosis 0, 4, 6 dan 8 mg/l air selama 8 jam. Wadah penelitian adalah stoples dengan volume 15 liter air sebanyak 12 unit yang dilengkapi dengan heater dan aerasi. Jumlah benih yang direndam sebanyak 30 ekor per perlakuan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa P3 (dosis 8 mg/l) mendapatkan persentase jantan tertinggi yaitu sebesar 71,11% dan uji statistik menunjukkan perbedaan yang nyata (Fhitung > Ftabel 0,05), kelangsungan hidup tertinggi pada P0 (kontrol) yaitu sebesar 82,22%, uji statistik menunnjukkan perbedaan yang sangat nyata (Fhitung > Ftabel 0,01) dan pertumbuhan bobot harian tertinggi pada P0 (kontrol) yaitu sebesar 1,928%, uji statistik juga menunjukkan perbedaan yang nyata (Fhitung > Ftabel 0,05).Kata kunci: Sex reversal, 17α-metiltestosteron, Clarias sp.

Abstract

The final project entitled the impact of Regional Minimum Wages and Population Growth on Labor Absorptionin Small and Medium Industries in Nagan Raya Regency aims to determine how much the relationship and influence of the amount of the Regional Minimum Wages and population growth on Labor Absorptionin Nagan Raya Regency, the data collection techniques used is literature study and field research. This research data is secondary data in the form of time series (time series) for the period 2008 – 2019, obtained from the central statistics of Nagan Raya Regency and the Departement of Industry, Trde, Cooperativesl Small and Medium Enterprises. The data analysis model used is multiple linear regression analysis with the Ordinary Least Square (OLS). The results of hypothesis testing show that the t-value of tcount 4.694 > 1.833 t table whit a probability level of 0.001 which states that there is a positive and real influence of the Regional Minimum wage variable on laborabsorptionin small and medium industries in Nagan Raya Regency, and proves partially that the value of the population growth variable is -0.7066 < 1.833 t table with a probability level of 0.498 states that population growth has no effect on labor absorption in small and medium industriesin Nagan Raya Regency. The simultaneous hypothesis testing results prove that the regional minimum wage variables has a positive and significant effect on labor absorption in small and medium in Nagan Raya Regency with a probability level of 0.001< 0.05 with a correlation level of R= 0.7297 which means that there is a strong relationship between regional minimum wage and job absorption in small and medium industriesin Nagan Raya Regency.

Abstract

One of the government's policies in encouraging economic growth from the fishery sectoris to increase fish consumption. Arongan Village, Kuala Pesisir Subdistrict, Nagan RayaRegency is one of the villages that has quite large fishery potential. The high potential offisheries is not always accompanied by a high level of fishery products consumption aswell. In this regard, accurate information is needed regarding the level of fishconsumption. In this study, the level of fish consumption was divided into threecategories, namely low, medium and high consumption levels. This study aimed todetermine the level of fish consumption and analyze the pattern of relationships of factorsthat influence the level of marine fish consumption in the Arongan Village, Kuala PesisirDistrict, Nagan Raya Regency. The analytical method used was descriptive quantitativemethod and multinomial logistic regression. The data used in this study was primary dataobtained through observation and questionnaires by taking samples based on randomsampling. There were 80 respondents. The results showed that there were 36.25% highfish consumption levels, 51.25% moderate fish consumption levels, and 12.5% low fishconsumption levels. It was also found that the variables of education, occupation, andincome simultaneously did not have a significant effect on the level of fish consumption,while partially, the variables of education, occupation and income did not have asignificant effect on the level of marine fish consumption.

Abstract

Nutmeg is one of the most popular export commodities in the world. Starting from seeds, mace, and nutmeg oil, they are targeted in the pharmaceutical, perfume and cosmetic industries as well as the food and beverage industry. However, it is still rare for nutmeg skin to be used and processed into a product of economic value. In society, a lot of nutmeg meat is thrown away and becomes waste. The IKM empowerment program at the Nutmeg IKM center aims to develop the knowledge and skills of nutmeg business actors in the South Aceh IKM Center to process nutmeg waste into value-added food products. This program promotes the manufacture of dodol made from nutmeg or called Dodol Pala. The program implementation method is divided into three stages: (1) Preparation, designing activities and coordinating with the South Aceh Nutmeg IKM Sentra UPTD; (2) Implementation of guidance, namely developing the knowledge of business actors about processed products made from nutmeg and (3) Training and mentoring, training activities with direct practice of making nutmeg dodol. Assistance is focused on making product packaging and marketing. This training involved various parties, including members of the Teuku Umar University Higher Education, South Aceh Nutmeg IKM Sentra UPTD, nutmeg business actors (IKM), and students. The achievement of this activity, the participants succeeded in developing knowledge about the benefits of nutmeg assessed from their participation during the three days following the activity. In addition, the participants also succeeded in making good quality nutmeg dodol. This activity is expected to be a motivation for nutmeg business actors in South Aceh district to implement their knowledge after this activity.

Abstract

Histamine is one of the problems in the Indonesian tuna industry.  Standard histamine levels in export destination countries, namely the European Union and America, are related to optimal temperature standards for handling tuna which can maintain histamine levels in tuna within safe limits for consumption.  Frozen tuna from Aceh which is exported to America, one of which comes from PT Yakin Pasifik Tuna Lampulo.  The purpose of this research is to see whether the raw material for frozen tuna produced by PT.  Confident that Pacific Lampulo which will be exported to America is of good quality.  The test parameters used were checking spinal temperature, testing for histamine and organoleptic content in accordance with SNI 2729:2013.  The results of the study showed that the raw material for frozen tuna had a spine temperature of less than 4oC, the histamine content of the 7 samples averaged below 1 ppm.  Organoleptic testing of raw materials (appearance) of 7 samples has an average value not lower than number 7. The raw material for frozen tuna from PT Yakin Pasifik Tuna  Lampulo is a raw material that is classified as very good quality. INTISARIHistamin merupakan salah satu masalah di industri tuna Indonesia. Standar kadar histamin di negara tujuan ekspor yaitu Uni Eropa dan Amerika terkait dengan standar suhu optimal penanganan ikan tuna yang dapat menjaga kadar histamin ikan tuna dalam batas aman untuk dikonsumsi. Tuna beku asal Aceh yang diekspor ke Amerika, salah satunya berasal dari PT Yakin Pasifik Tuna Lampulo. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat apakah bahan baku tuna beku yang diproduksi oleh PT. Yakin bahwa Pacific Lampulo yang akan diekspor ke Amerika memiliki kualitas yang baik. Parameter uji yang digunakan adalah pemeriksaan suhu tulang belakang, pengujian kandungan histamin dan organoleptik sesuai dengan SNI 2729:2013. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bahan baku tuna beku memiliki suhu tulang belakang kurang dari 4oC, kandungan histamin dari 7 sampel rata-rata di bawah 1 ppm. Pengujian organoleptik bahan baku (penampilan) 7 sampel memiliki nilai rata-rata tidak lebih rendah dari angka 7. Bahan baku tuna beku dari PT Yakin Pasifik Tuna Lampulo merupakan bahan baku yang tergolong kualitas sangat baik

Abstract

Pelabuhan Perikanan Samudra (PPS) Kutaraja Provinsi Aceh yang merupakan pelabuhan pendaratan ikan terbesar di Aceh. Ikan tuna salah satu jenis ikan yang didaratkan di pelabuhan Kutaraja yang menjadi target ekspor dan produksinya paling melimpah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keberadaan bakteri patogen pada ikan tuna yang dipasarkan di Pelabuhan Perikanan Samudra (PPS) kutaraja melalui uji kontaminan bakteri Salmonella sp.  Prosedur penelitian terdiri dari 3 tahap yaitu, tahap pra pengkayaan menggunakan media Buffered Peptone Water (BPW), tahap ke dua adalah tahap pengkayaan menggunakan media Rappaport Vassiliadis-Soy (RVS) dan larutan Muller-Kauffmann Tetrathionate novobiocin (MKTTn) dan tahap ke tiga yaitu tahap isolasi menggunakan media XLD dan BGA. Uji kualitatif bakteri Salmonellla sp. berdasarkan uji biokimia dan serologi. Hasil pengujian bakteri Salmonella sp. memperlihatkan bahwa bakteri Salmonella sp. tidak terdapat di ikan tuna sirip kuning di Pelabuhan Perikanan Samudra (PPS) Kutaraja Provinsi Aceh.
