Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of trust (X1), information sharing (X2) on supply chain performance (Y) mediated by Innovation SMEs. The population in this study were SMEs in Kulon Progo Yogyakarta. From the population taken 35 samples with non-probability sampling method. The model in this study uses Partial Least Square. And the results showed that trust and information sharing have a significant positive effect on supply chain performance mediated by SME Innovation.  Applicative suggestions that can be applied are the need for trust between supply chain members. because there is still distrust between supply chain members which in the future can hinder supply chain performance. In addition, there is a need for innovations that can accelerate the performance of the supply chain such as the need for a sap drying oven, plastic caps so that the sap is not mixed with water and dirt and jerry cans are placed between 4 - 5 coconut trees which makes it easier to transport raw material supplies. With trust and information sharing can create these innovations that can affect supply chain performance.

Abstract

This study investigates the direct and indirect effects of work engagement and organizational culture on employee performance, with job satisfaction examined as a mediating variable, in the context of the Regional Development Planning, Research, and Development Agency of Fakfak Regency, Indonesia. Employing a quantitative research design and Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM), data were collected from a saturated sample of 54 civil servants using validated survey instruments. The findings reveal that both work engagement and organizational culture have significant direct impacts on employee performance. However, job satisfaction does not significantly mediate these relationships, challenging prevailing assumptions in public sector performance theory. These results imply that enhancing employee performance in government institutions may be more effectively achieved through direct investments in engagement and organizational culture rather than relying solely on job satisfaction as a psychological intermediary. The study offers empirical contributions to public management literature and provides practical recommendations for local government agencies aiming to improve workforce productivity and strategic planning outcomes. Future research should explore alternative mediators or moderators and utilize longitudinal approaches to better capture the complexity of organizational dynamics.

Abstract

This study investigates the mediating role of organizational innovation in the relationship between digital payment systems and business sustainability among creative Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Amidst the digital transformation trend, digital payment systems such as e-wallets, QRIS, and mobile banking have become critical tools for MSMEs to enhance efficiency and expand market reach. However, the sustainability of MSMEs remains challenged by limited technological adaptation, low digital literacy, and inefficiencies in operational management. Using a quantitative descriptive approach, this study collected data from 100 purposively sampled MSMEs that had adopted digital payment technologies. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to examine the relationships between digital payment systems, organizational innovation, and business sustainability. The results reveal that while digital payment systems exert a moderate direct effect on business sustainability, their indirect effect through organizational innovation is significantly stronger. The mediation analysis confirms that organizational innovation plays a complementary and substantial role in amplifying the impact of digitalization on long-term business performance. These findings highlight the necessity of integrating technological adoption with internal innovation strategies to achieve sustainable competitiveness. The study recommends increased institutional support to foster digital literacy and innovation capacity among MSMEs and calls for future research to explore additional mediating variables and sectoral comparisons using mixed methods.

Abstract

This study investigates the enabling factors of Green Supply Chain Management (GSCM) practices and their impact on sustainability performance, with a particular focus on economic performance among furniture Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Yogyakarta. The urgency of this research lies in the inconsistent findings of previous studies regarding GSCM’s effectiveness in improving firm performance and the limited exploration of its enabling factors. Using a quantitative approach, the study surveyed 75 export-oriented furniture MSMEs, selected through purposive sampling, and analyzed the data using SmartPLS 4.0. The results show that consumer behavior and organizational strategy significantly influence GSCM adoption, while institutional pressures and economic advantages do not. GSCM practices positively influence environmental and social performance, but do not directly or indirectly improve economic performance. This study contributes to the literature by integrating both the drivers and the outcomes of GSCM in a single empirical framework specific to the MSMEs context.

Abstract

Basil (Ocimum basilicum Linn.) essential oil contains methyl chavicol, which exhibits antibacterial properties. Basil essential oil has volatile and hydrophobic properties, so it is necessary to have an emulgel preparation that can stabilize and enhance its topical activity. This study aims to formulate an emulgel of basil essential oil and investigate its antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus. Basil essential oil was analyzed using the GC-MS. The formulas of Basil essential oil emulgel were created through concentration variations of 5%, 7.5%, and 10%, respectively. These formulas were then tested for organoleptic properties, viscosity, pH, spreadability, and adhesion time. Additionally, antibacterial activity tests were conducted using the well diffusion method. Basil essential oil analysis identified methyl chavicol at 81.34%. All formulas had the white semi-solid form and they had specific basil odours, viscosity 1013.83 ±714.29; 1644.68 ± 888.68; 1923.26 ± 1733.67 cps, pH 5.73; 6.02; 6.90, spreadability 19.61 ± 0.24; 18.28 ± 0.32; 17.57 ± 0.26 gram.cm/second and adhesion time 8.03 ± 1.85; 5.07 ± 0.43; 5.51 ± 0.14 second. Furthermore, all the formulas inhibited the growth of Staphylococcus aureus (p<0.05). The 7.5% basil essential oil emulgel’s formula provides optimal results in terms of physical stability and antibacterial activity.

Abstract

This study examines the determinants of profitability within Indonesia's food and beverage industry, specifically analyzing the role of firm size, liquidity, efficiency, leverage, and market power. Utilizing data from 24 companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange from 2018-2022, the research employs multiple linear regression analysis to investigate these factors' impact on profitability, as indicated by Return On Assets (ROA). Results reveal that firm size, liquidity, efficiency, leverage, and market power collectively influence profitability, with market power emerging as the most significant determinant. While firm size and efficiency are positively associated with profitability, leverage negatively impacts it, and liquidity does not significantly affect it. The study's findings highlight the importance of strategic market positioning, operational efficiency, and prudent financial management in enhancing profitability.

Abstract

There has been a well-known market anomaly in the stock market called the firm size effect. This theory explains that small-cap stocks may provide greater stock returns than big-cap stocks. This research aimed to test the firm size effect theory on 827 stocks listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during January 2 to June 27, 2023. The research sample was divided into big-cap and small-cap categories based on the calculation of average market capitalization, then the average value of stock returns from both categories were statistically compared. The result showed that the average values of stock return from both categories were significantly different, but this finding did not support the hypothesis related to market anomalies, because the result showed that big-cap stocks provide a greater stock return compared to small-cap stocks. However, the top 10 small-cap stocks with the highest return showed a much greater value than the return of big-cap stocks. Therefore, investors may still choose to invest in small-cap stocks, especially for short-term investments.
