Indonesia has many narrative reading and different culture of many regions. Lacking of appreciation of own local culture is a continuing concern for many countries, including Indonesia. Through its constitution, the governement of Indonesia recommends that the education sector take part actively in preserving Indonesia local cultures. EFL teachers should use them in their teaching and learning process as one of the resources to apply to preserve culture for younger generations (EFL students). This research used local narrative reading to able the EFL teachers to preserve Indonesia culture as well as to transfer culture knowledge which makes their students study English and its culture with ease.

In Indonesia, curriculum changes continue to occur because they are deemed not in accordance with expectations, so some schools apply the international curriculum. The Cambridge curriculum focuses on students' understanding, knowledge and critical thinking skills. This study aims to determine students' perceptions toward Cambridge curriculum used in learning English at Senior High School Sumsel, because students are the subject of implementing the curriculum. To find out the perceptions of students, researchers first studied how schools implemented the curriculum and the data analysis methods used were triangulation techniques, interviews to find out how the curriculum was implemented, questionnaires to determine student perceptions and documentation to support research results. The results of this study are (1) positive student perceptions. Positive things are shown by some students who are enthusiastic in learning to use the Cambridge curriculum and make students have a global prespective, (2) the implementation of the Cambridge curriculum in South Sumatra is quite good because schools continue to map the national curriculum and Cambridge curriculum and to material that is not the same will be made into additional class.

The Purpose of the study was to analyze the students' different personalities and their speaking ability. The Methodology of this study was used qualitative descriptive method by using the triangulation such as interview, questionnaire and documentation. The result of the data shows us that there are 12 students as openness, 11 students as conscientiousness, 7 students as agreeableness, 6 students as neuroticism and 4 students only as extroverts. Then, the students' different personalities don't affect their speaking ability. Lastly, neuroticism is better in speaking English than other personalities. From this study, the writer found out that the big five personalities (extrovert, conscientiousness, openness, agreeableness and neuroexisted in IBA senior high school.

The objective of this study was to find out the teachers and students perceptions and the challenges that faced by the teachers and students in teaching and learning by using Bilingual Education Program at Senior High School of Sumatera Selatan Palembang. This study applied qualitative descriptive method. The population of this study was 4 science and math teachers and 25 of 10th grade students. The data were collected by using close- ended questionnaire and interview. The results showed that Bilingual education program is a good program. There were so many benefits for the teachers and students. This program required the teachers and students to speak English even the subject are mathematics and science. Bilingual was giving the chance for the teachers and students to get new experiences. The teachers and students reported to having limited English skills and particularly in terms of scientific terminology.

During the process of learning to speak, students often encounter various challenges. Many students exhibit passivity in speaking lessons and lack confidence when speaking in front of the class due to limited vocabulary and a lack of conceptual understanding. The researcher aimed to determine whether the use of "Acting Play Scripts" (APS) in teaching speaking could improve students' speaking skills. The research problem focused on the effectiveness of teaching speaking through the APS technique for students in the English Department of PGRI University Palembang. The objective was to assess the effectiveness of the APS technique in enhancing students' speaking abilities. The study specifically concentrated on students' speaking proficiency in English and utilized a pre-experimental method with a one-group pre-test and post-test design. The researcher selected a single class, namely the 5A class of fifth-semester students from the English Department, comprising 33 students. The findings revealed that the average score in the pre-test was 63.80, while the average score in the post-test was 71.51. The significance level was set at 5%, with a degree of freedom (df) of 32. The critical value of the t-table was 1.6938, and the t-obtained was 55.07. Therefore, the null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted, indicating that teaching speaking through the APS technique was effective for students in the English Department of PGRI University Palembang. The APS technique resulted in improvements in students' speaking abilities, including their mean scores, their ability to express ideas using appropriate vocabulary and grammar, and their pronunciation development. The implementation of the APS technique in the speaking classroom exhibited strengths, such as increased student participation and enhanced speaking skills.

The main purpose of this study is to examine the influence of online game addiction on the learning motivation of fourth-grade children. Specifically, the research focuses on investigating the impact of online game addiction on the enthusiasm for learning among fourth graders at SDN 1 Bubusan. The study involves fourth-grade students, class teachers, and parents of students who are addicted to online games at the mentioned school. A descriptive-qualitative research method is employed, and data collection techniques include observations, interviews, and questionnaires. Classroom sessions were observed to witness teachers delivering learning materials, and interviews were conducted with students, parents, and class teachers. Additionally, students completed questionnaires to gather their perspectives. Data analysis consisted of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The findings of this study reveal that online game addiction among children has a detrimental impact on their enthusiasm for learning. It leads to decreased motivation to study and a lack of attentiveness towards teachers' explanations of learning materials.

Learning English is generally hindered by the limited use of visual aids. As a result, students' understanding of the English language is not fully achieved, and the learning process becomes less active due to a lack of interaction between teachers and students. Therefore, it is necessary to incorporate teaching aids to enhance student learning outcomes after using unit teaching aids. This research employed an experimental method with a Pretest-Posttest Control Design. The study was conducted in Class V at SDN 69 Palembang, where the VA class served as the control group and the VB class as the experimental group. Data on understanding the concept of measurement were collected from the results of pre and post-tests administered to both groups. The data analysis revealed that the average score of understanding in the control group during the initial test was 54.38%, which increased to 71.04% by the end of the test. On the other hand, the average score in the experimental class during the initial test was 52.95%, which improved to 80.23% by the end of the test. Therefore, the effective use of unit teaching aids benefited the Class V students at SDN 69 Palembang.

This research aims to determine the effect of the Course Review Horay learning model using video media on science learning outcomes for class IV at SD Negeri 43 Palembang. This research uses an experimental method with a quasi-experimental design, namely nonequivalent control group design. The population in this research was 42 class IV students and the research sample of 42 was taken using a nonprobability sampling technique. Data collection used tests with data analysis using the Independent Sample t Test with the help of SPSS version 25. The results of the study showed that there was an influence of the course review horay learning model on the science learning outcomes of class 4 students at SD Negeri 43 Palembang. In the Independent Sample t Test testing was obtained. Sig value (2-tailed) 0.020 < 0.05. Thus, it can be concluded that there is a significant influence of the use of the Horay course review model on the science learning outcomes of class IV at SD Negeri 43 Palembang

This research aims to evaluate the impact of implementing the Task-Based Language Teaching (TBLT) model on the achievement of English language learning for grade IV students at SD Negeri 201 Palembang. The background to this research arises from the tendency for the learning process to be teacher-centered (one way or conventional), causing low student interest and resulting in unsatisfactory learning outcomes in class IV SD Negeri 201 Palembang. The research method used is quantitative with Quasi Experimental Design and Non-equivalent Control Group Design. Sampling was carried out using a total sampling technique on 35 class IV students at SD Negeri 201 Palembang. The results of the t-test (Independent Sample t-test) show a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.001 < 0.005, so Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. The conclusion that can be drawn is that the application of the Task-Based Language Teaching learning model has a significant effect on the English learning outcomes of class IV students at SD Negeri 201 Palembang.

Implementing character education in elementary schools has become mandatory. Because apart from the rules, it is also the obligation of educational institutions to educate their students. This article aims to explore how character education can be implemented effectively in the context of forming students' learning motivation in English lessons. English is a foreign language that has a central role in the world of education. In line with current curriculum demands, English language learning in schools is expected to not only focus on increasing students' communication competence in English, but also have a positive impact in instilling and shaping students' character and fostering motivation in learning. The research method used is field research, qualitative approach, primary and secondary data sources, data collection techniques using observation, interviews, documentation, data analysis techniques include data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing (verification). The research results obtained at SD Negeri 231 Palembang as an implementation of character education include: students are more enthusiastic and enthusiastic when learning English. In its implementation there are inhibiting factors including limited time and inadequate facilities
