Abstract

Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat di MTs NU Slorok dilakukan untuk mengatasi masalah siswa dalam pembelajaran bahasa Inggris. Berdasarkan hasil survei di sekolah, ditemukan masalah-masalah sebagai berikut. (1) Motivasi belajar siswa/siswi MTs NU Slorok relatif rendah untuk belajar bahasa Inggris; (2) media pembelajaran bahasa Inggris yang telah diterapkan di MTsS NU Slorok kurang menarik bagi siswa/siswi MTs NU Slorok; dan (3) adanya pola pikir siswa/siswi MTs NU Slorok yang menganggap bahwa bahasa Inggris bukan menjadi prioritas utama bagi mereka. Untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut, dilakukan upaya penggunaan kegiatan-kegiatan yang efektif dan menyenangkan untuk belajar bahasa Inggris. Kegiatan ini selanjutnya dinamakan Fun With English. Kegiatan ini mencakup empat keterampilan berbahasa, yaitu listening, speaking, reading, dan writing. Kegiatan yang dilakukan untuk masing-masing keterampilan adalah listening diajarkan dengan kegiatan whispering dan Listen and Do, speaking dilaksanakan dengan role-play dan game who am I, reading dilakukan dengan wordwall, dan writing dilakukan dengan permainan arrange jumble words. Hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian ini menunjukkan siswa lebih termotivasi dan sangat antusias belajar bahasa Inggris sehingga pembelajaran lebih efektif dan kemampuan Bahasa Inggris siswa berkembang dengan baik.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the results of the needs analysis at MAN 1 Blitar. Researcher found several problems faced by students in the process of learning English. This study aims to determine the opinion of the validators, the response of teacher and students to the learning media that has been developed in the form of Video Dubbing Animation. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) using the ADDIE model by Dick and Carry. The media that has been developed consists of two videos, one video to explain the material and one dubbing video as a student assignment. The material presented in this product is a narrative text focused on speaking skills. Data collection techniques were carried out using interviews and surveys. The instruments used are interview guidelines and questionnaires using a Likert scale. Based on the results of validation carried out by material experts and media expert, then the results of teacher and student responses, the percentage of results obtained were 80%, 94%, 86% and 66.7% with a total score of 81.7% where the score reached the criteria of "Very Good or Very Valid or Very Usable”. So, it can be concluded that the animation video dubbing learning media is very well used in the English learning process.

Abstract

Students find it difficult to obtain material due to the lack of learning facilities and media, therefore students and teacher need media that can be used that contains a summary of English learning materials so that learning can be delivered. One of the learning tools that can be used in the second semester 11th grade is English supplementary book. This book contains a summary of the material as well as there are practice questions and explanations of various materials with hope students will be able to develop knowledge, skills, and attitudes. Supplementary reading materials in English course programs can be applied to give students a comprehensive knowledge of the subject matter based on the national standard that they cannot get in their regular class (endang nuryasana, 2020). The English Supplementary Book has been validated by the media validator and the material validator, each of which has a score of 94% and 84%. The media also received a good response from students, namely 73% which means "Good" to be applied in eleventh grade second semester.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan bahan ajar Matakuliah Advanced Grammar Berbasis Communicative Grammar. Penelitian ini didasarkan pada kebutuhan bahan ajar yang sesuai dengan CPL mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Blitar. Metode yang dilakukan menggunakan RnD (Research and Development) yang memiliki 10 langkah meliputi: (1) Research and information collecting; (2) Planning; (3) Develop primary form of product; (4) Preliminary field; (5) Main product revision; (6) Main field testing; (7) Operational product revision; (8) Operational field testing; (9) Final product revision; (10) Dissemination and implementation. Teknik dan instrument penelitian yang digunakan adalah observasi, wawancara, angket. Subjek dari penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa semester 3 Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris sejumlah 14 mahasiswa. Hasil dari penelitian ini berupa kelayakan dan keefektifan produk oleh ahli media dan pembelajaran serta oleh pengguna. Hasil kelayakan produk mendapatkan 89,6% dengan kriteria layak dan hasil keefektifan mendapat 88,2% dengan kriteria efektif.

Abstract

The objective of the study is to determine processes. and outcomes of using mind mapping to teach English speaking skills for explaining text content in MA Ma'arif Ponggok eleventh grade. Students study a variety of topics at school, including languages. English is one of the languages that students learn at school. The utilization of media is one of the most effective strategies to aid student learning. The ADDIE paradigm is used in this form of study, known as study and Development (R&D). Data for this research were collected by observation, interviews, and a questionnaire.  The researcher obtains a score for validating instruments, media, and materials. The instrument validation score is 82.5%, which means "valid," the score for media expert validation is 90%, which means "very valid," and the score for material expert validation is 87.5%, which indicates "very valid." Aside from that, the students' replies to the media received a score of 79.65%, which signifies "very valid".

Abstract

This study focuses on helping English students and teachers find the ideal development module material for reading comprehension Under the 2013 curriculum, this study is a module that extends exercises to Help students understand English lessons and use the latest materials and resources. There are several reasons underlying this research, but (1) English language learning in this class applies a student center to discover students' interests and talents in the class, and the contextual method allows students to be proactive in following lessons. Research and Development (R&D), or research used to make certain goods and evaluate their suitability. This research and development use the ADDIE research model developed by Dick and Carry (1996). Media verification results of 90% and 8O by 5 performances from learning professionals. Product test results made in 2 meetings reached 74.0625%. The research and development results show a significant impact On the use of the reading module for students learning English. In conclusion, this module is an effective learning media that complements students' learning materials when studying English reading comprehension.

Abstract

The effectiveness of the learning process decreases when teachers do not use appropriate media for teaching. Students become passive as they struggle to focus on studying English speaking skills due to a lack of knowledge on what to speak and difficulties in speaking. Therefore, a learning media is necessary to teach and improve students' speaking skills. One such media is the English Daily Conversation Pocketbook. The study aims to determine the enhancement of students' understanding and practice of English in their daily activities, especially within the Bilingual Program at MTs Plus Al-Azhar Wlingi. This research follows a Research and Development method with seven cycles, focusing on 8th-grade students (10 students). Data collection techniques included interviews and tests, with qualitative and quantitative data analysis. The results from the validators' questionnaire showed a 90% approval rate, indicating the media's suitability. Additionally, student test results after using the media showed an improvement from an average score of 66 to 86.4, with an N-Gain score of 0.544, indicating moderate and effective criteria for use in the Bilingual Program
