Abstract

Wall magazines called Mading are one of the simplest types of written mass communication media. It is called a wall magazine because the basic principles of a magazine are dominant in it, while its presentation is usually attached to a wall or the like. Faculty of Engineering and Computer (FTK) Universitas Harapan (UnHar) Medan has several study programs: civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, informatics engineering, industrial engineering, information systems, and informatics management. FTK UnHar Medan in conveying information about academic and non-academic activities to students and other parties who need it is done by posting announcements on the campus Mading board, and this makes it challenging to obtain this information because students and parties who need it must come to campus and see directly on the Mading. From these problems, a study was conducted to design a website-based Mading application. The research used literature study, data collection, analysis, design, implementation, and system testing. The conclusion obtained from the final results of this study is to produce a website-based Mading application so that students and other parties who need information submitted by the campus, especially FTK UnHar, can be obtained quickly, accurately, and not limited by time because information can be accessed 24 hours online.

Abstract

This community service activity is carried out in the Medan Labuhan sub-district of North Sumatra with 41 participants, namely mothers of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and community members who have a business spirit (entrepreneurship) and are opening their business in that location. One of the problems faced by MSMEs is the problem of marketing their business products. For this reason, socialization is needed that can provide knowledge related to existing problems. In connection with the publication of the Universitas Harapan Medan community service team, socializing how MSME players in Medan Labunan District can adopt Information Technology to increase the competitiveness of the results of their businesses. For example, product packaging can use graphic design technology. Marketing can be done using social media (SMS, WA, Facebook, Instagram), blogs, and the web. This community service is carried out by the socialization method, namely lectures, demonstrations and questions and answers, the material is packaged in a powerpoint and displayed using an infocus. The results of the activities that have been carried out have very high interest from the participants, this can be seen from the participants' awareness and activity in asking questions during the question and answer session.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the low level of brand awareness among student-owned micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), which is mainly caused by the suboptimal implementation of digital marketing strategies, particularly content marketing. The main problem addressed in this research is how content marketing strategies can improve brand awareness among student MSMEs. This study aims to analyze the effect of content marketing on brand awareness and to identify effective content strategies that support such improvement. The research employs a quantitative approach using a survey method involving 100 student MSME actors in the Padang Bulan area. Data were collected through questionnaires using a Likert scale and analyzed using simple linear regression and t-test. The results indicate that content marketing has a positive and significant effect on brand awareness, with a regression coefficient of 0.68 and a significance value of 0.000 (less than 0.05). Additionally, about 78% of respondents actively use social media for marketing purposes, while only 65% ​​have structured content strategies. This finding suggests that improving content quality, creativity, and consistency can significantly enhance brand awareness. This study is expected to provide practical insights for student MSMEs in optimizing content-based digital marketing strategies.

Abstract

An aquarium is a vivarium container, typically featuring at least one transparent side, where aquatic animals and plants are kept. Aquariums are usually made of glass or high-strength acrylic plastic in a cubic shape. Fish are widely kept in aquariums, serving not only as pets but also as a source of livelihood. To ensure that fish live healthily and grow rapidly, water conditions must be maintained through proper care. The most critical factors in fish keeping are monitoring water clarity and aquarium lighting. Continuous lighting can lead to algae growth, which negatively affects water clarity. Additionally, leftover fish feed that is not fully consumed can also cause the water to become turbid or dirty. Therefore, an aquarium system design is required to regulate water filling and draining, alongside a light control design utilizing the Internet of Things (IoT). Based on these issues, the author aims to design an IoT-based aquarium equipped with an ultrasonic sensor as the input and two solenoid water valves as the filling and draining faucets (outputs). These inputs and outputs are controlled via a NodeMCU microcontroller equipped with a Wi-Fi network, which can communicate with a smartphone through the Blynk application

Abstract

The term is synonymous with the beauty of women. When talking about the beauty of it is inseparable from beauty products for women, or better known as cosmetic. Nowadays there are so many beauty cosmetics manufacturer company that offers so much convenience to the woman to keep her looks, well, cosmetic companies inside or outside the country. But not all cosmetics are sold freely in the market, especially cosmetics that come from abroad. Often the cosmetic consumers find it very difficult to buy cosmetics wanted since there is limited access to these cosmetics. For the mobile application aims to simplify cosmetic consumers find and buy cosmetics wanted. This mobile application can also promote cosmetics and shops selling cosmetics with promotional costs much cheaper. So expect to further cosmetic consumers can purchase their favorite cosmetics more easily and also can increase sales of cosmetics stores and cosmetics manufacturers themselves.

Abstract

This study aims to design an advertising order publishing system at Harian Sumut Pos Medan, which was previously carried out manually. The existing system causes several problems, such as delays in data processing, risk of data loss, and lack of efficiency in recording and retrieving data. The research method used includes observation, interviews, and documentation studies to obtain accurate data regarding the current system. The result of this study is a desktop-based information system design using Visual Basic and MySQL database that is capable of managing advertisement order data, advertisement types, publishing schedules, and payment data in an integrated manner. The designed system improves speed, accuracy, and efficiency in data processing and report generation. This system is expected to assist Harian Sumut Pos Medan in improving the performance of advertisement order management to become more effective, efficient, and computerized.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi digital telah memberikan banyak kemudahan dalam berbagai aspek kehidupan, termasuk pada sektor pariwisata. Kota Medan memiliki berbagai destinasi wisata yang menarik, namun wisatawan masih menghadapi kendala dalam memperoleh transportasi yang praktis dan informasi destinasi wisata yang mudah diakses. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang aplikasi rental motor listrik berbasis web guna meningkatkan layanan pariwisata di Kota Medan. Metode yang digunakan adalah Research and Development (R&D) dengan model pengembangan ADDIE yang meliputi tahap Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, dan Evaluation. Aplikasi dikembangkan menggunakan Visual Studio Code dan XAMPP serta dilengkapi dengan fitur beranda, motor, lokasi, destinasi wisata, kontak, login admin, dashboard admin, dan bukti pemesanan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aplikasi mampu mempermudah wisatawan lokal maupun mancanegara dalam memperoleh informasi destinasi wisata serta melakukan penyewaan motor listrik secara online. Berdasarkan hasil uji coba sistem, seluruh fitur aplikasi seperti antarmuka pengguna, navigasi menu, formulir pemesanan, peta lokasi, dan buku tamu dapat berfungsi dengan baik tanpa mengalami kendala yang berarti. Selain itu, tampilan aplikasi yang sederhana dan mudah digunakan memberikan kenyamanan bagi pengguna dalam mengakses layanan yang tersedia. Aplikasi ini juga mendukung penggunaan transportasi ramah lingkungan melalui pemanfaatan motor listrik yang lebih efisien dan minim emisi. Dengan demikian, aplikasi rental motor listrik berbasis web ini dapat menjadi solusi yang efektif dalam mendukung mobilitas wisatawan, meningkatkan kualitas layanan pariwisata, serta mendukung pengembangan sektor pariwisata dan perekonomian di Kota Medan.
