Abstract

The thermoacoustic engine can be a device to convert waste heat energy in the engine car become useful energy such as for charging battery in car or Air conditioner of the car. This work can be done by experimentally and numerically. There are some parameters that have an impact on the performance of the engine. They are geometry of the engines, working fluid, and mean pressure. The performance of the engine depends on the efficiency and the heating temperature. In the car, waste heat energy is not high enough. Therefore, we need to utilize the low heating temperature to be converted into useful energy. This study contributes to numerically the effect of mean pressure and loop’s radius of the regenerator on the onset temperature and the efficiency of traveling wave thermoacoustic engines. The application that is used to solve numerical problems is fortran95. There are two codings that are used in fortran95. They are stability limits and efficiency codes. The lowest onset temperature that achieved is 153˚C with efficiency up to 38.1% that can be reached when the mean pressure is 4.0 MPa and the loop's radius is 5 cm. This result indicated that we can use low heating temperatures from waste heat of engine car to turn on electronics equipment inside the car.

Abstract

Karangpaing Village is a green bean farming center. However, post-harvest processing is still manual so that production is small. This activity of disseminating technology products to the community aims to improve the welfare of citizens by increasing the production capacity of green beans with a renewable roller system, as well as increasing the value of their sales and marketing. This service method includes interviews, observation, socialization, discussion, practice and question and answer. The outputs generated from this activity include Karangpaing green bean farmers who can operate pulping machines, diversify mung bean products, carry out good financial management and marketing. This activity has been handed over to 5 units of mung bean epidermis peeler and has been trained to process green beans into several processed variations such as green bean extract milk, bakpia, bakpao and others, so that the residents are very enthusiastic.

Abstract

3D Printing adalah sebuah printing yang menampilkan data dalam bentuk cetakan, namun berbeda dengan printing biasanya yang mencetak data dalam sebuah kertas ataupun lembaran lainnya. Dengan teknologi dari 3D printing sebuah perusahaan dapat membuat sebuah prototype tanpa harus menghabiskan bahan baku ataupun material. Dalam penelitian ini, dikaji tentang pengaruh parameter temperatur nozzle dan base plate pada material PLA terhadap kehalusan permukaan. Pada proses penelitian ini material yang dipakai adalah Poly Lactid Acid (Poly Lactic Acid ) yang kemudian akan dibentuk menjadi spesimen dengan ukuran 30x30x10 mm. Dengan menggunakan temperatur nozzle yaitu 190°C, 205°C, 220°C dan temperatur base plate 30°C dan 50°C serta menggunakan lem dan tidak menggunakan lem. Pada penelitian ini, didapatkan hasil density yang paling mendekati dengan density material adalah pada temperatur nozzle 190°C dan temperatur base plate 50°C dengan menggunakan lem ataupun tidak pada single nozzle sebesar 1.734 g/cm3

Abstract

On April 19, 2020, the Republican Covid Task Force declared that the Covid-19 pandemic was a national disaster in Indonesia. At that time it was confirmed that there were 6575 cases and an increase of 5.23% compared to the previous day, then there were 5307 people in treatment which increased by 5.55% compared to the previous day, it was reported that 582 people died, which increased by 8.79 % compared to the previous day, and 686 recovered patients. WHO reports that the case fatality rate (CFR) or the death rate of Covid-19 cases in Indonesia reached 8.3%, which is twice the world's CFR. In this study, the main focus is to detect masks and body temperature used by visitors with various variations of masks on the market today, and next is to control the servo motor according to the detection conditions whether using a mask in real-time. Based on research on the system that has been tested, it shows that the components used to generate heat are very effectively used and can work as expected, and the MobilenetV2 method applied to the Raspberry Pi as the brain of the system can work as expected and has an accuracy rate of 99%. The AMG8833 sensor can read effectively at a maximum distance of 30 cm, the temperature reading deviation level is 0.1⁰C.

Abstract

A 3D printer is the result of the development of automated machining technology, which progresses from the creation of a design to the printing of a product with a complex shape and high precision for optimal printing results. The 3D printer design process begins with the creation of a design to determine the machine's dimensions, followed by the determination of specifications for the required motors, the design of electrical wiring to select the specifications for a controller, and finally, the testing of the tools when 3D printing. The accuracy of 3D corexy printers and 3D Cartesian printers are compared experimentally in this study. The printing process using a 3D printer produced two values that exceeded the tolerance limit, one in each dimension's length and width, according to the results of ten tests. The printing process results in a 3D Printer Cartesian exceeding the tolerance limit by four values: one for the length dimension, two for the width dimension, and one for the height or depth dimension. The 3D Printer Corexy is consequently more precise than the 3D Printer Cartesian because it fails less frequently.

Abstract

Computerized numerical control (CNC) is one example of advances in automated machine technology. CNC can fulfil high precision and complex product specifications. Industrial CNC milling is still expensive regarding the hardware and software required to operate it. As a result, CNC milling machines are only used by large companies, with only a few mid-sized industries using them. It makes it impossible for medium enterprises to compete with large industries in terms of quality and output. This research aims to develop a CNC that uses an offline Wi-Fi controller based on ESP32 as an application that supports CNC machine work processes for use in small and medium enterprises. In an experiment, the precision of a CNC milling machine equipped with a sliding mode controller (SMC) controller was compared with that of a CNC machine equipped with an ESP-32 Wi-Fi controller. The CNC milling process with SMC control exceeds the tolerance limits in three dimensions based on the results of ten tests, namely length, width, and height or depth. Six values, two in each dimension of length, width, and height or depth, exceeded tolerance limits due to the CNC milling machine's ESP32 Wi-Fi control. Therefore, the CNC with SMC control is more accurate than the ESP32 Wi-Fi control because there are fewer failures with the former. This research has been carried out and provides input for the implementation of SMC, which can be considered in the CNC milling process.

Abstract

Graha STEAM assistance through Appropriate Technology (TTG): The Steam.mulation application aims to support the learning achievements of school-age youth who have lost their enthusiasm for learning as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. This community service activity is carried out to help children develop 21st century learning skills such as critical thinking and problem solving, creative thinking, collaboration and communication (4C) by mentoring STEAM learning activities and implementing TTG using an Android-based application Steam.mulation. Data on TTG users' responses to improving 4C capabilities was collected by distributing questionnaires to Graha STEAM mentoring participants. The questionnaire included 11 main questions about the application and its perceived benefits. Participants had installed and used the steam application prior to completing the questionnaire. Respondents filled out the questionnaire based on their current situation. The mentoring questionnaire, which was administered using the TTG Steam.mulation application, received a very positive response. Overall, the response provided is excellent and has the potential to improve 4C capabilities

Abstract

Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan model kompetensi praktik pembelajaran profesional Pendidik PAUD di Desa Munding Kecamatan Bergas Kabupaten Semarang. HIMPAUDI sebagai salah satu bentuk komunitas belajar bekerja sama dengan tim dosen Universitas PGRI Semarang melalui kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat, mencoba memfasilitasi pendidik untuk memahami Capaian Pembelajaran khususnya literasi STEAM pada fase fondasi (PAUD). Berdasarkan hasil riset Sandholtz & Ringstaff (2011), masalah yang terjadi berkaitan dengan literasi STEAM antara lain: (1) Pendidik kurang memiliki pengetahuan konten STEAM yang memadai dan merasa tidak siap untuk mengajarkan konten STEAM, (2) Pendidik underestimate kemampuan anak usia dini pada kegiatan terintegrasi STEAM, (3) Pendidik tidak memberikan kegiatan yang menantang untuk anak berpikir dan terlibat dengan konten STEAM, tapi hanya sekedar hafalan. Namun, mulai tahun 2020 penerapan pendekatan STEAM pada jenjang PAUD di Indonesia masih dalam tahap perkembangan dan belum secara luas diterapkan di seluruh sekolah. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini berupa inhouse training pendidik PAUD di Desa Munding, HIMPAUDI Desa Munding mengorganisir peserta termasuk alat dan bahan pelatihan, sedangkan Tim Dosen UPGRIS bertugas sebagai fasilitator dalam pelatihan. Peserta diajarkan bagaimana perencanaan dan pelaksanaan pembelajaran dengan pendekatan STEAM sesuai dengan capaian pembelajaran di akhir fase fondasi (PAUD). Oleh karena itu, luaran yang diharapkan adalah pendidik PAUD memperoleh pemahaman bagaimana perencanaan dan pelaksanaan Pembelajaran dengan pendekatan STEAM.
