Abstract

This study aims to describe the relationship between the lexical meaning and the idiomatic meaning contained in the Japanese kotowaza and to analyze the level of relevance of each kotowaza to the application of socio-cultural values in Japanese society. This type of research is qualitative descriptive research to describe the meaning of kotowaza through cognitive linguistic studies and conceptual metaphor theory. The data source is a Japanese novel contained in Aozora Bunka. This study found that the animal elements contained in the kotowaza are a conceptualization of attitudes, actions, judgments, circumstances, and feelings. In addition, the city also reflects socio-cultural values that are very relevant to the culture of Japanese society, such as the culture of working hard, being responsible, and being focused and conscientious.

Abstract

Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah untuk memberikan alternatif kegiatan pembelajaran bahasa Inggris dalam masa pandemi COVID-19, dikarenakan pembelajaran melalui buku saja dapat membuat peserta didik merasa jenuh. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat dilaksanakan di MTS Negeri 8 Kebumen, dengan jumlah peserta kegiatan sebanyak kurang lebih 30 orang. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian ini yang dipilih yaitu melalui pelatihan peningkatan kemampuan berbicara bahasa Inggris, melalui latihan-latihan seperti diskusi, story telling, wawancara dan lain-lain. Dari kegiatan pengabdian yang telah dilaksanakan diketahui bahwa, pelajaran bahasa Inggris yang hanya menekankan pada teori tata bahasa dan pengenalan kosakata kurang efektif untuk melatih kemampuan berbicara. Selain itu, melalui kegiatan pelatihan kemampuan bahasa Inggris ini peserta dapat merasakan kegembiraan dalam belajar bahasa Inggris dikarenakan ada metode baru yang dapat diterapkan, ketika mempelajari bahasa Inggris di luar mata pelajaran bahasa Inggris yang dilakukan di sekolah.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan wakamono kotoba yang digunakan oleh kaum muda di Jepang, ditinjau dari tataran morfologis dan semantik. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan instrumen penelitian berupa angket kuesioner yang memuat pertanyaan terstruktur. Subjek pada penelitian ini adalah penutur asli bahasa Jepang (native speaker) sebanyak 15 orang, dengan rentang usia antara 10 hingga 32 tahun. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, terdapat empat buah pembentukan kata (gokeisei) yang baku dalam bahasa Jepang, yaitu haseigo sebanyak satu buah kata, fukugougo sebanyak dua buah kata, toujigo sebanyak lima buah kata, serta shouryakugo atau karikomi sebanyak 25 buah kata. Selain itu, ditemukan pula beberapa kata yang mengalami proses pembentukan tersendiri, dikarenakan sifat wakamono kotoba yang tidak terpaku pada bentuk baku dan kaidah bahasa Jepang yang baik dan benar. Hal ini terkonfirmasi dari hasil penelitian yang menunjukkan adanya perubahan fonem sebanyak satu buah kata, perubahan bunyi sebanyak empat buah kata, dan penggunaan bahasa asing sebanyak tiga buah kata. Namun demikian, ditemukan pula wakamono kotoba yang tidak mengalami proses perubahan kata tertentu melainkan hanya mengalami perubahan atau perluasan makna dari makna aslinya. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dapat disimpulkan proses pembentukan kata yang paling sering terjadi yaitu shouryakugo. Sehingga dapat dikatakan kaum muda di Jepang cenderung gemar menciptakan suatu kata dengan cara membuat kata menjadi lebih ringkas baik ketika diucapkan maupun ketika dijadikan sebagai bahasa tulis.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to help improved students' basic literacy skills and also help the learning process and technology application at SDN Gebangarum 2, Demak Regency, Central Java. The community service activity take place from August 2, 2021- December 12, 2021. To solve existing problems, the community service team designed and implemented several structured work programs, such as: classroom learning assistance, technology adaptation, assisting school administration and teachers, and building school facilities. From the results of the implementation of the activities that have been carried out, it is known that there is an increase in motivation and the number of student participation in participating in learning in class. The home visit work program carried out by the community service team is also very helpful for teachers and students when the implementation of learning is carried out during a pandemic. Furthermore, the assistance of technology adaptation for learning and school administration has also succeeded in solving several administrative problems and also the use of learning applications that have not previously been implemented. Finally, the construction of additional facilities in the school such as reading corners and hanging gardens, has a positive impact on improving students' basic literacy, and the aesthetics of the school environment. The community service program through the Kampus Mengajar program is very useful for both students, teachers, schools and student implementation teams, especially in relation to problem solving and the implementation of theories and knowledge gained in lectures

Abstract

The increasing growth of tourism by both local and foreign tourists requires a thorough integration of tourist attractions in Banyumas through appropriate and attractive promotional tools to increase the number of local and foreign tourists visiting. Tourism promotion tools provide objective information as a guide for potential tourists regarding location, transportation access, accommodation, and the costs needed to get to the attraction. The media can be digital, such as tourist content on official government or private pages. This service activity aims to introduce tourist destinations around the Banyumas area through digital media in the form of web content in three languages, Indonesian-English-Japanese. With the availability of these promotional tools, prospective tourists can receive objective information related to Banyumas tourist destinations, thereby encouraging an increase in the number of tourists visiting Banyumas.

Abstract

The impact of the COVID-19 outbreak has caused every college and school to stop offline learning activities. For one year, online tourism learning has become a learning option, as well as a new challenge for students and lecturers. This study aims to find out the problems and challenges faced by students during online tourism learning during the pandemic. Respondents from this study were 67 students who took tourism courses. The results showed that students experienced a number of difficulties during online learning such as signal difficulties, lack of motivation to study, difficulty concentrating, and difficulties in practicing tour guiding online. The positive sides of online learning include; unlimited distance, prevent the transmission of the covid-19 virus, no need to meet in person. Overall, students prefer offline tourism learning compared to online learning due to the difficulties they face during the implementation of online learning. It is hoped that lecturers can convey interesting methods and techniques in online tourism teaching to boost student motivation and performance to study tourism in this pandemic situation.
