Abstract

This study addresses a persistent gap in fostering autonomous speaking development among EFL learners in suburban, resource‑constrained environments, where access to high‑quality interactional practice and sustained self‑regulation supports is limited in digitally mediated settings. The research aims to design, implement, and evaluate an AI–VR‑enabled Virtual Speaking Partner (VSP) that scaffolds independent speaking practice and self‑regulated learning in junior high school EFL programs. Adopting a research‑and‑development design informed by constructivist and self‑regulated learning theories, the study carried out needs analysis, iterative prototyping, usability testing, and school‑based implementation. The intervention integrated the VSP into an extracurricular digital platform to deliver simulated, context‑rich dialogues with adaptive AI feedback and VR‑based situational immersion. Evaluation data consisted of speaking performance assessments, learner autonomy/self‑regulation scales, system logs, and qualitative learner feedback, analyzed through mixed‑methods approaches. Findings indicated notable gains in speaking fluency, interactional management, and confidence, alongside increased indicators of learner autonomy such as planning, monitoring, and strategic help‑seeking. Students and teachers further reported high levels of usability and feasibility. The study demonstrates that coupling AI‑driven feedback with VR‑mediated communicative scenarios can meaningfully enhance autonomous EFL speaking practice in suburban contexts. Implications include a practical development framework for school‑level implementation, guidance for integrating formative analytics into autonomy‑oriented pedagogy, and policy relevance for scaling immersive language technologies in under‑resourced educational ecosystems. Abstract

This research endeavors to evaluate the efficacy of an integrated quality assurance system in enhancing the quality of education to align with market demands. The 'Unggul' predicate was granted to Padang State University (UNP), which is one of the universities in Indonesia where this study was conducted. Utilizing a qualitative research methodology in phenomenology, data were collected to investigate the implementation of the quality assurance system at UNP, from planning to operation, in order to comprehend its influence on the quality of learning within the university environment. This investigation demonstrated that there is an urgent necessity to enhance the integration of education with the requirements of a job market that is both dynamic and rapidly evolving. While the EPP (Determination, Implementation, Evaluation, Control, and Improvement) model has demonstrated efficacy, technological advancements and global dynamics necessitate additional innovation and adaptation.

Abstract

The problem in this study is the learning process and learning outcomes of students in social studies learning in Class VI SD Negeri 81/II Muara Bungo is still low, this is evidenced by the results of preliminary observations made by researchers of 37 students only only 7 students (18.91%) who obtained value in the completion criteria. The reason is that teachers only use conventional approaches in the classroom, which causes the learning process and student learning outcomes to be low. The subjects of this study were students of class VI of SD 81/II Muara Bungo, amounting to 37 students. In the implementation of this study consisted of two cycles carried out by researchers. Each cycle consists of planning activities, implementation accompanied by observation and reflection in each cycle. This study aims to describe the application of the NHT model in improving the process and learning outcomes of social studies in SD Negeri 81/II Muara Bungo classes. The research data was collected through observation, documentation and test results. The results of the analysis of the research data indicate that the use of the NHT model can improve social studies learning outcomes of Class VI SD Negeri 81/II Muara Bungo. This can be seen from the results of the second cycle students' tests have reached KKM 75, seen in the learning outcomes of completeness of the learning outcomes of the first cycle is 29.72% in the second cycle increased to 83.78%.

Abstract

Most of the students in junior high school find it difficult to learn English, when asked to practice speaking in a text procedure in front of the class they feel afraid and not confident. This research aims to find out the effectiveness of learning procedures text in speaking practice by using a video vlog at SMPN 7 Muara Bungo. The methodology of this research is quasi-experimental quantitative research. The analysis method uses data collection descriptive analysis speaking test. The participant of this study is 28 respondents from class 9.3 SMPN 7 Muara Bungo. To retrieve the data, the researchers used the rubric of learning procedures text in speaking practice. The result of this study was obtained to see whether video vlogs have effectiveness in improving students’ English speaking ability in the practice of procedure text, in speaking English students often feel insecure so students are lazy to speak English, especially in front of their friends. the researcher found that using video vlogs as a medium to improve students speaking ability was not effective, research results show that ttest – 4,824>ttable 1,703.
