Abstract

This Community Service (PkM) activity intends to enhance the comprehension and foster teachers’ creativity and competence. Teachers require comprehensive support in English instruction, utilizing textbooks that offer contextual learning to address diverse needs and learning styles. The Emancipated Curriculum grants teachers with greater freedom in designing and executing learning processes that cater to student needs, highlighting a flexible and student-centered methodology. The PkM team organized an activity to promote Riau Malay culture via social media. This activity employed a methodical approach consisting of several stages: first, the introduction and utilization of integrated textbooks on Riau Malay culture; second, the enhancement of English language skills for the promotion of Riau Malay culture; and third, the evaluation process. The research findings indicate a notable enhancement in teachers' English language proficiency, achieving scores of 4 or 5 (High), particularly in the aspect of writing and speaking, which are interwoven with local cultural knowledge. This demonstrates a significant accomplishment of a primary objective, specifically the enhancement of teacher competence. Google Classroom has demonstrated efficacy as a platform for collaboration and the dissemination of Malay cultural materials in English. This research suggests the development of more proficient teachers capable of enhancing regional cultural diversity for a broader audience via digital technology, while also boosting students’ motivation through pertinent and engaging material

Abstract

Program Kemitraan Masyarakat (PKM) ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi guru dalam menerapkan gamifikasi berbasis aplikasi wordwall untuk menyusun asesmen formatif pembelajaran diferensiasi di SMP Nurul Falah Kulim Pekanbaru. Latar belakang program ini adalah rendahnya hasil Asesmen Nasional (AN) pada aspek literasi dan numerasi, kesenjangan belajar siswa, keterbatasan guru dalam pendekatan pembelajaran diferensiasi, dan rendahnya motivasi belajar siswa. Program ini melibatkan 20 guru sebagai peserta yang berpartisipasi dalam pelatihan berbasis pendekatan holistik yang meliputi tiga tahapan: persiapan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Tahap persiapan mencakup penjadwalan, rekrutmen peserta, dan pengembangan materi pelatihan yang relevan dengan kebutuhan peserta. Pada tahap pelaksanaan, materi disampaikan melalui ceramah, diskusi kelompok, dan praktik individu untuk memastikan peserta memahami konsep asesmen formatif, pembelajaran diferensiasi, dan penggunaan wordwall. Evaluasi dilakukan menggunakan pretest dan posttest untuk mengukur peningkatan pemahaman peserta, serta observasi langsung selama kegiatan berlangsung. Hasil program menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan dalam pemahaman dan keterampilan peserta. Skor rata-rata posttest mencapai 90%, meningkat 30% dibandingkan pretest. Sebanyak 85% peserta mampu menyusun asesmen formatif berbasis wordwall sesuai kebutuhan siswa yang beragam. Metode pembelajaran yang mengintegrasikan ceramah, diskusi, dan praktik langsung terbukti efektif, dengan tingkat kepuasan peserta mencapai 85%. Kesimpulannya, pelatihan ini berhasil meningkatkan kompetensi guru dalam mengintegrasikan teknologi berbasis gamifikasi ke dalam pembelajaran diferensiasi, mendukung implementasi Kurikulum Merdeka. Peningkatan durasi kegiatan dan penyediaan fasilitas teknologi menjadi rekomendasi untuk pelatihan selanjutnya agar dapat lebih optimal dalam mendukung transformasi pendidikan yang berkelanjutan.

Abstract

his study aims to explore the effect of the Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based Inquiry Based Learning (IBL) model on appreciative attitudes towards traditional music and traditional music skills among language learners. This study used a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent control group design. The research sample consisted of 60 language learners divided into two groups: an experimental group that used the AI-based IBL learning model and a control group that followed conventional learning. The data were analysed using multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) to test the effect of the learning model on the two dependent variables. The findings indicate that the AI-based IBL model has a significant effect on both dependent variables. The experimental group experienced a greater increase in appreciative attitudes and traditional music skills compared to the control group. These findings suggest that the application of AI in arts education can increase student engagement and learning outcomes. In addition, the use of AI in the IBL model allows for instant feedback, which accelerates learning and improves students' practical skills. This study has significant pedagogical implications, showing that AI-based technology can transform the way arts learning is conducted by creating a more personalised and adaptive learning experience. These findings contribute to the development of technology-based education, particularly in the context of traditional music learning, and open up opportunities for the wider use of smart technology in arts education in the future.
