Abstract

Post natural disaster there is a shift in the atributs selection of tourism destinations. This research was conducted at a Bali tourism destination when Agung mountain natural disaster occurred. The background of the research objective to find out the preferences of overseas tourists, in choosing tourist destinations during their visit destinations by comparing the conditions of pre and post natural disasters. The types of data used in this study are qualitative and quantitative data. Data sources come from primary and secondary data. Data collection techniques by observation, interviews, questionnaires, documentation and literature. Data analysis techniques with descriptive statistics and conjoint analysis, sampling techniques with Slovin formulas for foreign tourists who have visited Bali pre and post natural disasters of Mount Agung eruption. This research findings that preferences of foreign tourists in the selection of tourist destinations before natural disasters are strongly influenced by low prices / special offers, but after natural disasters are greatly influenced by information or promotion in articles in magazines/newspapers and films when to choose tourism destinations. Abstract

Thi research is located in Le Meridien Bali Jimbaran Hotel which is based on the existence of miscommunication that occurs among employees that can hinder work productivity of employees of Le Meriden Bali Jimbaran Hotel. The purpose of this research is to know the application of internal communication and to know the influence of internal communication to productivity of work employees in Jimbaran Bali Le Meridien Hotel. This research uses techniques of data collection through the methods of observation, interview, questionnaire, the study of librarianship, and documentation. A questionnaire distributed to 85 respondents which is an employee at the Hotel Le Meridien Bali Jimbaran. The measurement scale used is the likert scale and the analysis of its data using inferential statistic that validity test, reliability test, correlation analysis, simple linear regression analysis, determination analysis and t test. Implementation of internal communication are shown through daily operational activities that require interdepartmental coordination as well as employees that involves employees of the highest level, equivalent , and lowest for providing services excellent with through media like whatsapp, handy talky, email, notice board as well as face-to-face.The results showed the existence of a positive influence of internal communication to productivity of work of employees. 38% employee productivity can be explained by the variable indicators of internal communication while the rest amounted to 62% is affected by other factors.. Advice that can be given to the Hotel Le Meridien Bali Jimbaran i.e. two-way communication emphasis, always open in taking decisions for employees and the management primarily superiors in order to keep his behavior since becoming a guide for employees the lower level.

The Government and society are required to be able to strategic in tourism development including the development of tourism villages. The purpose of this study was to describe and analyze the implementation of strategic, strength factors and weaknesses of strategic, as well as the results of strategic in carrying out the development of the Tutubhada traditional village as a Tourism Village. The results of the study were expected to provide advice or recommendations to the government and the public regarding the synergy pattern of development. This study used a qualitative descriptive research method. The research used qualitative data and quantitative data as well as primary data and secondary data. Data collection method used is interview method, observation and literature study. The strategic of the local government and the society in implementing the development of the Tutubhada traditional village as a tourist village was successful, judging from the pattern of implementers, programs, and facilities and infrastructure. This synergy turned out to bring positive results on the value and social change of the Tutubhada society, as well as success in developing tourism potential. The driving factor is the content of regulations that are easy to understand, the attitude of the community in applying synergy principles and regulatory provisions. The inhibiting factor is human resource capacity, and the budgeting process is not balanced. Overall with the many limitations that are owned, the government and the society continue to make every effort to realize tourism development. Important to note in the development of the Tutubhada traditional village as a tourism village in the future is to pay attention to the synergistic coordination. Abstract

Bali Coconut Living (BCL) merupakan perusahaan manajemen vila yang relatif baru, dengan semakin banyaknya jumlah perusahaan manajemen vila, maka otomatis timbul persaingan diantara merek-merek yang potensial di pasar dan hanya produk atau jasa yang memiliki brand yang kuat akan tetap mampu bersaing dan menguasai pasar. Salah satu strategi yang dapat dilakukan untuk meningkatkan brand awarness adalah dengan memperhatikan strategi komunikasi pemasaran. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui strategi komunikasi pemasaran yang sesuai untuk dilaksanakan oleh BCL. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi, wawancara, kuesioner dan studi pustaka. Teknik penentuan informan menggunakan purposive sampling. Dalam penelitian ini, kuisioner dibagikan kepada pemilik vila yang belum menggunakan jasa BCL dan pemilik vila yang telah menggunakan jasa BCL. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif kualititatif dan menggunakan pendekatan SWOT. Dari hasil penelitian BCL merancang konsep yang digunakan yaitu lebih santai dan kekeluargaan, Word of mouth merupakan bentuk saluran komunikasi yang efektif yang telah dijalankan, BCL menetapkan anggaran komunikasi dengan metode Affordable Method, dan BCL belum melakukan kegiatan komunikasi dengan efektif. BCL masih berada pada posisi paling bawah dalam tingkatan brand awarness yaitu unaware of brand. Berdasarkan hasil analisis SWOT, maka alternatif strategi yang dapat dijalankan oleh BCL yaitu melakukan kegiatan komunikasi terpadu dan masif, menambah SDM, mempertahankan pelanggan agar memiliki citra dan word of month positif dan menambah budget promosi. BCL harus merancang tagline dan membuat konten semenarik mungkin, BCL juga harus melakukan pemasaran terpadu dan masif sehingga penyebaran informasi dapat lebih cepat dan dapat menjangkau pasar sasaran yang dituju sehingga membuat BCL lebih dikenal di benak calon pelanggan. Abstract

Tourism is one of highest growth sector in Indonesia and Bali especially. The Increased of tourist visited impact the increased of accomodation which also increased the labor needs. The Syncronization needed to prospective workers joining accomodation sector by on the job training programs. Trainee which did on the job training needs well work atmosphere so they could learn and give productivty, which is showed by quality of worklife concept. Therefore, not all part of quality of worklife suits the trainee situation, which in this research only took work environment, work relation and compensation as variabel. This research held in The Stones – Legian, Bali – A Marriott Autograph Collection Hotel, using 3 independent variabel, which is work environment (X1), work relation (X2) and compensation (X3). The datas got by observations, interview, literature studies, online questionnaire and documentations. Respondens are 59 trainees. This Research using multiple linear regression to find impact of independent variabel to dependent by partialy or simultaneously. The test gave results tcount of work environment (X1) 0,510, work relation (X2) 2,934 and compensation (X3) 1,422 with the ttable value is 2,004. Therefore, Simultaneously X’s Variabel got 11,211 Fcount with Ftable 2,11 and determination coefficents is 37,9%. Conclusion for the research are only work relation variabel (X2) significantly impacts trainee’s productivity, which work environment (X1) and compensation (X3) doesn’t give significantly impact. Also there are simultaneously impacts of X’s Variabels to the Y’s Variabel.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors that influence consumer decisions of buying products in Hungry Bird Coffee Canggu and to find out the dominant factors that influence consumer decisions of buying products in Hungry Bird Coffee Canggu. This research was conducted at Hungry Bird Coffee Canggu with respondents totaling 100 respondents, the sample in this study was selected using the accidental sampling method. The data in the study were analyzed using exploratory factor analysis which was supported by the SPSS version 17.0 for windows statistical program. The results of this research are: 1) The factors that influence consumer decisions of buying products in Hungry Bird Coffee Canggu produce 8 factors formed, namely the first factor is given the name of culture that has an eigenvalue of 6.211, place factor has an eigenvalue of 2.689, promotion factor has eigenvalue value of 2.394, process factor has an eigenvalue of 1.847, social factors have eigenvalue of 1.555, product factor has an eigenvalue of 1.314, price factor has an eigenvalue of 1.221, physical evidence factor has an eigenvalue of 1.025. 2) Cultural factors are the most dominant influencing consumer decisions of buying products in Canggu's Hungry Bird Coffee. This factor consists of three forming indicators, namely citizenship, geographical area, and lifestyle. The advice that can be given for this research is that Hungry Bird Coffee improves their marketing methods through advertisements, websites or social media, gives promos, seeks solutions to maintain old consumers and also attracts new consumers, and provides unique concepts for interior design and café exterior.

Abstract

Internship is an essential program to implement by educational institutions since through internship students can have direct experience in the working world. Acceptance of trainee in the tourism industry is necessary because it could help to increase work force as well as to select candidates to employ as new workers. However, in practice, internship program faces some obstacles, and one of them is the interaction process between the interns and existing workers. Considering this problem, this study will discuss patterns of interaction between trainees and employees at the InterConntinental Bali Resort. Data were collected through questionnaire, interview, observation, and literature review. The sampling technique follows Slovin’s quota based formula, while base informants and key informants were determined through purposive random sampling technique. Questionaire was analyzed with statistical and qualitative descriptive methods. The interaction pattern in the InterContinental Bali Resort could be classified into two categories, namely associative and dissociative. The associative pattern includes cooperation, accommodation, adaptation and assimilation, while dissociative involves competition, contravention and conflict. The dominant pattern in the InterContinental Bali Resort is the associative pattern of interaction, with its three sub indicators, namely cooperation, accommodation or adaptation and assimilation, are categorized as fine. Meanwhile, two out three sub indicators of dissociative interaction, that is contravention and conflict, could be categorized as minor and quite insignificant. However, the first sub indicator of dissociative interaction, namely competition, is categorized as medium. As such, this study would like to advice the InterContinental Bali Resort to pay more attention to the dissociative pattern of interaction, especially Competition, in order that service in InterContinental Bali Resort can be enhanced.

Abstract

Nusa Dua Beach Hotel & Spa merupakan Hotel tertua yang di bangun di kawasan ITDC (indonesia Tourism Development Corporation). Hotel tersebut memiliki kamar khusus yang disediakan bagi tamu difabel (penyandang disabilitas, ibu hamil dan manula termasuk di dalamnya) sebagai salah satu aksesibilitas yang disediakan oleh hotel. Okupensi dari kamar tersebut yang cukup tinggi sejalan dengan kunjungan tamu difabel di hotel tersebut. Standar Aksesibilitas menjadi sangat penting demi kenyamanan tamu difabel di hotel. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui tingkat aksesibilitas bagi tamu disabilitas di Nusa Dua Beach Hotel & Spa dilihat dari sudut pandang European Commission (Westcott, 2004) dan disesuaikan dengan Peraturan Menteri Pekerjaan Umum No.30/PRT/M/2006. Penelitian ini juga bertujuan untuk mengetahui kendala dan upaya yang dihadapi pihak hotel dalam melakukan pengadaan, pembaharuan dan perawatan aksesibilitas. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif guna menganalisa tingkat aksesibilitas bagi tamu disabilitas serta kendala dan upaya dalam pengadaan, pembaharuan dan perawatan aksesibilitas tersebut. Hasil penelitian ini menemukan bahwa tidak semua aksesibilitas yang ada pada Nusa Dua Beach Hotel & Spa aksesibel. Hotel tidak memiliki lahan parkir khusus penyandang disabilitas dan jalur pemandu pada jalan setapak yang dimiliki hotel. Kendala dan upaya dalam pengadaan dan pembaharuan aksesibilitas tersebut didominasi oleh kendala internal. Kendala tersebut berpusat pada kendala finansial dan kendala perijinan dari pihak manajemen chain hotel yaitu Brunei Investment Agency. Upaya preserfatif dalam perawatan aksesibilitas tersebut sudah maksimal sehingga pada saat penelitian dilaksanakan kondisi aksesibilitas yang dimiliki oleh hotel dalam kondisi baik.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi atas peningkatan pesat jumlah usaha akomodasi di Kawasan Pariwisata Amed, sehingga memicu perubahan pada seluruh aspek bagian. Variabel yang digunakan yaitu dampak lingkungan, dampak sosial budaya dan dampak ekonomi. Data penelitian yaitu diperoleh melalui observasi, wawancara, studi pustaka dan dokumentasi. Penentuan informan yaitu menggunakan purposive sampling. Kemudian data yang terkumpul dianalisis menggunakan deskriptif kualitatif mengikuti konsep dari Miles dan Huberman. Berdasarkan hasil analisis diketahui bahwa keberadaan usaha akomodasi pariwisata di Kawasan Pariwisata Amed, memberikan dampak positif dan negatif terhadap lingkungan, sosial budaya dan ekonomi masyarakat. Sejauh ini dampak yang ditimbulkan lebih kepada dampak positif terutama pada aspek ekonomi. Namun tidak dipungkiri keberadaannya banyak memberikan dampak negatif pada aspek lingkungan, walaupun intensitasnya tergolong ringan. Dampak yang dimaksud yaitu: 1) Aspek lingkungan, keberadaannya secara positif merubah lingkungan sekitar akomodasi menjadi lebih tertata, bersih dan hijau. Namun disisi lain keberadaannya memberikan dampak negatif seperti memberikan tekanan pada lingkungan, Alih fungsi lahan, dan pencemaran lingkungan sekala kecil. 2) Aspek sosial budaya, secara positif berdampak pada perubahan sumber mata pencaharian masyarakat, peningkatan kualitas SDM, serta peningkatan kecintaan terhadap budaya lokal. Namun juga memberikan dampak negatif seperti terjadinya perubahan etos kerja, rendahnya penggunaan arsitektur khas daerah dan memicu kemacetan. 3) Aspek ekonomi, secara positif berdampak pada peningkatan penghasilan masyarakat, membuka lapangan kerja, memacu pengembangan lokasi kurang produktif dan meningkatkan permintaan produk lokal. Namun keberadaannya juga memberikan dampak negatif seperti ketergantungan pada sektor akomodasi, dan memicu tingginya harga produk. Abstract

The purpose of this research is to examine the ecopreneurship business model applied by star hotels in Nusa Dua Resort integrating environmental elements into tourism business. Related to the concept of sustainable tourism development that emphasizes the development of eco-tourism and efforts to achieve the prospective ideal conditions. To discover it, the necessary data from several five star hotels that linked to international chains in Nusa Dua Resort area used as samples. Analyzed using descriptive qualitative analysis technique where the elements of ISO 14001 are used as the indicators, and guidelines for the interview and questionnaires. The data that has been obtained, processed and extracted, into some graphs and tables, and described as a basis for conclusions of ecopreneurship business model applied by star hotels in Nusa Dua Resort. As the result, this research shows that the ecopreneurship business model applied by star hotels in Nusa Dua Resort in integrating the environmental elements into tourism business has 4 phases. Such as P-D-C-A where Plan adapted into environmental management system planning, Do adapted into implementation of environmental labeling and recycling, Check adapted into an environmental audit examination and evaluation of environmental performance, and Action adapted into action on regular management review.
