Abstract

The study program selection in several high schools or madrasah aliyah (MA) in Riau province is conducted manually. The initial survey found that the study program is commonly chosen by following the friend’s preference and parents’ option instead of their knowledge capability and desire. As a reflection, many students fail to adhere to the school subjects, obtain unsatisfactory results, and even change their study program. Therefore, this paper aims to assist students in altering the appropriate study program by considering students' capabilities, talents and interests by developing a multi-criteria decision support system (DSS). This DSS employs the integrated AHP approach for criteria weighting and TOPSIS for ranking alternatives. Herein, seventy students' data from grade ten MAN 2 Kuantan Singingi grows into this case study. The automation system analysis is executed through the web base DSS system using PHP programming language and MySQL database. As a result, AHP calculates the significance values of the criterion whereby the student interest score values at 0.34, academic report, potential academic test, physiological test, Pre-Test/Post-Test, interview scores, and teacher recommendation scores at 0.21, 0.14, 0.11, 0.09, 0.06, and 0.05, respectively. Subsequently, TOPSIS ranks the students according to the assessment and criteria weighting based on the standard requirement of study program in Mathematics and Science program (MIPA) and Social Science program (IIS). The DSS study program selection application has been tested using the Blackbox and User Acceptance Test (UAT) methods. Both of these approaches indicate that this application is functionally approved and capable of aiding the users in the optimal study program selection, with 81.9% agreement. In a nutshell, this DSS has successfully recommended the optimum study program per the students’ talents, interests, and capabilities and provided the direction development of students’ expertise area for the next level of education.

Abstract

Technological progress continues along with changing times. The application of technology has penetrated various aspects of daily life, making it more practical. Often, problems arise when the father does not recognize his child, which results in the child losing his rights, including the right to receive love from his own father. To overcome this, MK Decision no. 46/PUU-VIII/2010 concerning Review of Article 43 paragraph (1) of Law no. 1 of 1974 concerning Marriage changed the paradigm of evidence by allowing the use of DNA testing technology to determine the lineage of children outside of marriage. The formulation of the problem raised in this research is 1) how is the role of digitalization in realizing children's rights, studying the decision of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Indonesia; and 2) how to reform children's rights in Indonesia in the era of digitalization 4.0. The research method uses normative juridical with a statutory regulatory approach and conceptual approach. The research results show that several existing decisions often refer to digital evidence in the form of DNA (Deoxyribo Nucleid Acid) and decisions that mostly use this evidence will protect children's rights and end up maximizing the protection of children's rights when the parents deny the status of their child in front of the judge. Then the process of proving children's rights using digitized evidence can be carried out by adopting this evidence in Law no. 7 of 1989 concerning Religious Courts to create legal certainty for families, especially for children themselves.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to diagnose Neglected Tropical Diseases early by applying the concept of an expert system as a tool that works by mimicking the thought patterns of an expert (doctor). The methods applied in this expert system are Certainty Factor and Dempster Shafer. Both methods work by combining a number of pieces of evidence (symptoms) to produce a confidence value for a disease. Methods: The study began with discussions and interviews with experts to collect information and data about Neglected Tropical Diseases. Conducting a literature review study to enrich knowledge about Neglected Tropical Diseases. Two main inference methods are used to detect diseases based on patient symptoms. The Certainty Factor method uses expert value weighting parameters and patient input value weighting as a basis for knowledge. The Dempster Shafer method only uses expert value weighting in analyzing the probability of symptoms to produce a level of diagnostic accuracy. Result: The Certainty Factor method works by integrating patient and expert weight values into its calculations. Meanwhile, the Dempster Shafer method considers expert weight values without involving patient weight values. Expert system searches using the Forward Chaining inference engine show that the Certainty Factor method has an accuracy probability value of up to 90%. Meanwhile, the Dempster Shafer method has an accuracy value of 70%. Novelty: The results of the study show that expert systems can be applied in the health sector, especially in diagnosing Neglected Tropical Diseases. Of the two methods used, the Certainty Factor method shows a high accuracy value, so it can help detect Neglected Tropical Diseases early and provide treatment solutions to improve health.
