Abstract

High Order Thinking Skills is the ability to connect, manipulate, and change the knowledge and experience that is owned critically and creatively in determining decisions to solve problems in new situations. In the 21st century or the Industrial Revolution 4.0 era, the learning model continues to change as a form of adjustment to the demands of the development of science and technology. The learning model that used to be still conservative in the auspices of LOTS (Low Order Thinking Skill) with the teacher / lecturer as the center of learning switched to the HOTS (High Order Thinking Skill) model by relying on reasoning, innovation and creativity to solve problems. So, the students become the center of learning. This study aims to design the shape of the HOTS learning model in the Research Methods subject. The prototype of the learning model is developed to be five steps / stages of learning, namely: (1) identifying problems based on observations of learning activities in schools, (2) selecting problems to study, (3) gathering information about the problems to be studied, (4) developing proposals, (5)presentation of proposals. The results of the study showed that the learning process of the Research Methods subject by applying the HOTS-based learning model would lead the students to form a critical attitude, increase independence and gain a lot of experience that are useful to compile scientific works including the completion of thesis preparation.

Abstract

Higher order thinking skills is important to apply in learning, particularly in making questions tested to studernts. Higher order thinking skills is a cognitive process which encompasses; analysis, evaluation, and create. In accordance with the 2013 curriculum, the questions made for the high school level must achieve the stage of create of the cognitive process. This research found that the teachers’questions did not include evaluation and create of the cognitive process.

Abstract

This study aims to determine and examine the influence of Leadership (X1), Organizational Culture (X2), Work Motivation (X3), and Job Satisfaction (X4), on the Performance of High School Heads (X5) in Medan. This study also aims to determine the theoretical model of performance (fixed model) that can describe the structure of the causal relationship between the exogonus variable and the endogonus variable. This research was conducted in Medan City High School in 2017, with a total sample of 135 people. The research variable data selection uses a valid and reliable questionnaire based on the results of rational analysis (Expert Judgment) and instrument trials of 32 people from the study population. The data analysis technique used consisted of descriptive analysis, test requirements analysis, and path analysis with a significance level of α of 0.05. The results of the analysis revealed Ho was rejected, Ha was accepted. So, there is a positive and significant direct influence of Leadership, Organizational Culture, Work Motivation, and Job Satisfaction on the Performance of High School Heads in Medan City.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan muatan nilai karakter yang terdapat pada materi pembelajaran sastra buku siswa kelas X kurikulum 2013 edisi revisi 2017 Bahasa Indonesia. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah buku paket Bahasa Indonesia untuk SMA/MA/SMK/MAK kelas X kurikulum 2013 terbitan Kemendikbud. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif yaitu suatu metode yang bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan keadaan objek penelitian berdasarkan fakta-fakta yang ada.Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah membaca,menandai, mengklarifikasi, menginterpretasikan. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik analisis isi.Hasil analisis nilai karakter pada materi pembelajaran sastra yang terdapat pada BAB IV dan BAB VIII pada buku siswa kelas X kurikulum 2013 edisi revisi 2017 hanya memiliki 17 nilai karakter yang terkandung didalamnya meliputi: 1) religius, 2) jujur,3) toleransi, 4) disiplin, 5) kerja keras, 6) mandiri, 7) demokratis, 8) rasa ingin tahu, 9) semangat kebangsaan, 10) cinta tanah air, 11) menghargai prestasi, 12) cinta damai, 13) bersahabat atau komunikatif, 14) gemar membaca, 15) peduli lingkungan, 16) peduli sosial, dan 17) tanggung jawab. Jumlah pemunculan masing masing nilain karakter dalam sikap religius sebanyak 30 kali , jujur sebanyak 14 kali,toleransi sebanyak 3 kali, disiplin sebanyak 1 kali, disiplin, kerja keras sebanyak 9 kali, mandiri sebanyak 2 kali, demokratis sebnayk 2 kali, rasa ingin tahu sebanyak 3 kali, semangat kebangsaan sebanyak 6 kali, cinta tanah air sebanyak 3 kali, menghargai prestasi sebanyak 3 kali,cinta damai sebanyak 3 kali, bersahabat atau komunikatif sebanyak 2 kali,gemar membaca sebanyak 1 kali, peduli lingkungan sebanyak 3 kali ,peduli sosial sebanyak 29 kali , dan tanggung jawab sebanyak 4 kali.Nilai karakter yang dominan adalah religius dan peduli sosial.Berdasarkan hasil identifikasi yang disampaikan diatas,dapat disimpulkan bahwa dalam materi pembelajaran sastra dalam buku paket siswa Bahasa Indonesia kurikulum 2013 edisi 2017 lebih terfokus pada pembelajaran dalam hal pendidikan karakter religius dan peduli sosial.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan bahan ajar handout elektronik berbantuan kvisoft flipbook maker pro pada materi teks fabel kelas VII SMP. Untuk melihat kelayakan bahan ajar handout elektronik berbantuan kvisoft flipbook maker pro pada materi teks fabel kelas VII SMP sebagai bahan ajar penunjang pembelajaran. Penelitian menerapkan metode Research & Development mengacu pada alur pengembangan Borg and Gall yang sudah dimodifikasi oleh Sugiyono. Penelitian menerapkan lima langkah dari sepuluh langkah yang semestinya yaitu potensi dan masalah, mengumpulkan informasi, desain produk, validasi desain, dan revisi desain. Tahap validasi desain melibatkan 4 orang subyek (dua orang ahli materi, dua orang ahli media) dilibatkan untuk menilai kelayakan materi, dan kelayakan media. Penilaian kelayakan oleh para ahli menggunakan lembar validasi yang diadaptasi dari BSNP (Badan Standar Nasional Pendidikan). Analisis data menggunakan analisis deskriptif kualitatif, Instrumen berupa angket menggunakan perhitungan skala Likert. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa bahan ajar handout elektronik berbantuan kvisoft flipbook maker pro pada materi teks fabel kelas VII SMP dinyatakan layak digunakan sebagai bahan ajar penunjang pembelajaran dengan perolehan skor presentase keseluruhan sebesar 83,9% untuk aspek kelayakan isi, 91,6% untuk aspek kelayakan penyajian, 86% untuk aspek kelayakan bahasa, dan 93,8% untuk aspek kelayakan kontekstual dengan kriteria sangat baik oleh ahli materi. . Sedangkan untuk ahli media memperoleh presentase keseluruhan sebesar 97,7% pada aspek kegrafikan dengan kriteria sangat baik. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mendeksripsikan bagaimana penguasaan bunyi-bunyi vokal pada anak usia 2-3 tahun jika berada pada awal, tengah, akhir kata, (2) mendeskripsikan bagaimana penguasaan bunyi-bunyi konsonan pada anak usia 2-3 tahun, dan (3) Mendeskripsikan apa saja faktor yang mempengaruhi terjadinya proses fonologi yang terjadi pada anak usia 2- 3 tahun di Lautdendang, Deliserdang, Sumatera Utara. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian yang dapatkan adalah (1) Bunyi vokal yang muncul pertama kali pada anak usia 2-3 tahun, yaitu [a], [i], dan [o]. (2) Bunyi konsonan pada anak usia 2 tahun bunyi nasal [n] dapat diucapkan dengan baik, diikuti oleh bunyi lateral [l], sedangkan bunyi konsonan pada anak usia 3 tahun konsonan yang diperoleh jauh lebih beragam, bunyi hambat dikuasai sebelum frikatif, kemudian frikatif dapat dikuasai sebelum bunyi afrikat. (3) proses fonologi pada anak terjadi karena adanya stimulus dari orang tua serta lingkungan, adapula faktor alamiah pembentukan fonologi pada anak adalah secara biologis karena alat ucap pada anak di usia tertentu belum terbentuk dengan sempurna. Peran fonologi dalam pembelajaran bahasa sangat penting untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan, sehingga bunyi-bunyi bahasa yang dihasilkan oleh anak bisa dimengerti serta dipahami maknanya untuk menghindari kecacatan berbahasa.

Abstract

This study aims to find out the implementation of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) training for company doctors at OHS Training Center Medan.; the obstacles in the implementation of OHS training of corporate doctors in OHS Training Center Medan.; the efforts implemented on the company's OHS doctor training. This research is a qualitative descriptive research and data collection techniques including, interviews, observations, and documentation. The subjects in the study were 10 people and the data validity technique used was source triangulation. The results showed that the implementation of OHS for company doctors at The OHS Training Center Medan has been carried out; the obstacles to the implementation of OHS from the human factor such as there are still participants who do not comply with the rules. Obstacles from environmental factors are; the amount of Personal Protective Equipment has not met the needs of trainees, there has been no OHS warning in the practice room, lack of instructor supervision during practice in the field; the efforts to overcome obstacles in the implementation of OHS, such as providing socialization, the availability of personal protective equipment and work safety equipment for participants, reprimanding participants who violate the rules and imposing strict sanctions for violators of the code of conduct who commit repeated violations.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop teaching materials for literary texts based on local wisdom culture of North Sumatera at Grade VII semester 2 and the digitalization of the learning. The literary teaching materials developed were folk poetry, fable, and fictional texts. This study used the Research & Development method referring to the 4-D model developed by Thigaranjan et al.  This model consists of four development steps such as define, design, develop, and the disseminate. The data in this study was analysed by using descriptive qualitative analysis.  The validation on the teaching materials developed was carried out by 3 experts, namely material expert, language expert, and media experts. Furthermore, the teaching materials developed was tested on preliminary field and main field testing for Junior High Schools (SMP) relevant with the model of research method used. The study results showed that the teaching materials got excellent qualification in content validation (91.06%), excellent qualification in language validation (90%), excellent qualification on media expert validation (89.76%), excellent qualification on learning practitioner validation (95%), and excellent qualification on student response trials (88.98%). Thus, from the results of the research conducted, it can be concluded that the teaching material developed is "valid" which means that it is suitable to use as Indonesian literary texts teaching material based on local wisdom of North Sumatera at grade VII Semester 2.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to explain the influence of the Snowball Throwing Learning Model on the Ability to Write Short Story Texts in Class IX Students of SMP Negeri 4 Medan in the 2022/2023 Academic Year. The population of this study was all students in class IX of SMP Negeri 04 Medan consisting of 11 classes with a total of 324 students. The samples taken were class IX-1 as the experimental class and class IX-2 as the control class. The method used in this research is an experimental method with a two group post-test design, with a research instrument in the form of an assignment to create a short story text. The experimental class got an average score of 78.33 while the control class got an average score of 73.50. This means that the value obtained by the experimental class is higher than the value obtained by the control class. Based on the results of the analysis, it was found that the data results were normally distributed. After carrying out a normality test of p > 0.05 at a significant level, the results of the normality test of the experimental posttest data were (0.059 > 0.05), and the normality test results of the control posttest data were (0.200 > 0.05). The results of the homogeneity test for the ability to write short story texts were p-value > α = 0.05 with posttest results for the experimental class and control class of 0.070 > α = 0.05 and the hypothesis test obtained a significance value of 0.045.
