Abstract

This study examined the technique and quality of the translation of the conjunctions “and” done by students in socio-cultural subjects. The researchers conducted observations on the translation of students of the Universitas Jenderal Soedirman (Unsoed) Chinese Language Diploma Program (D3) who enrolled in the socio-cultural translation course. The results of their translation were then analyzed in the sense of their techniques used and the quality of their translation. Moreover, questionnaires were distributed to get suggestions for improvements to the teaching system, especially translation. The results showed that the error was dominated by the ambiguity of meaning caused by the incorrect choice of conjunctions, while the technique used was not entirely correct. This happens due to the lack of student competence, especially in mastering words and contexts of the conjunctions used.

Abstract

Calung, Lengger, and Barongsai, abbreviated Calengsai, is a new-arising art appearing because of acculturation between communities, namely the Banyumas and Chinese people through adaptation. This adaptation is underpinned upon the teachings of each religion which teaches that every human being must be good to others. The aims of this study is to find the right solution to avoid the conflict and to analyse how culture can become the bonding element between religious communities This research was conducted in different cultural backgrounds and society that may elicit conflicts. There are several problems discussed in this research. First, how conflicts are resolved and how inter-religious relations are strengthened. Second, what the media is used to attach religious communities. To portray such issues, the writers conducted literary study, observation, and interviews. to analyse the data, the writers implemented the theory of cultural adaptation and cross-cultural communication. The result of this research is to provide an understanding that culture can strengthen the relationship between religious communities. To sum up, Calengsai has sociocultural values that arise as a result of cultural shifts in each society that can be used as an adhesive medium for inter-religious relations.

Abstract

Curug nature tourism managed by Perum Perhutani KPH East Banyumas currently only has information services in Indonesian, so that information about the tour has not spread to foreign visitors. The Curug nature tourism information e-booklet in Mandarin aims to improve information services for Curug nature tourism managed by Perum Perhutani KPH East Banyumas for Chinese-speaking visitors. In making an information e-booklet for nature tourism Curug in Mandarin, the data collection techniques used were the observation method, the interview method and the internet browsing method. In the process of translating the information e-booklet on Curug natural tourism in Mandarin, three stages were used, namely analysis, transfer and restructuring. The method used is the communicative translation method. The results of the translation of the e-booklet of Chinese-language Curug nature tourism information will be uploaded on Weibo and Instagram social media, because Weibo and Instagram are social media that are easily accessible by Chinese-speaking visitors. Chinese-language e-booklets can help foreign visitors, especially Chinese-speaking visitors, to obtain information regarding natural tourist attractions managed by Perum Perhutani KPH East Banyumas. Keyword: mandarin language, e-booklet, translation, nature tourism.

Abstract

Artikel ini ini berjudul “Penerjemahan Deskripsi Entitas Karya ke dalam BahasaMandarin di Diorama Dinas Perpustakaan dan Arsip Yogyakarta”. Tujuan penulisanartikel ini adalah menghasilkan terjemahan deskripsi entitas karya berbahasaMandarin yang menarik dan mudah dipahami dengan adanya pelayanan lintas bahasabagi pengunjung dan peminat seni dari wisatawan pengguna bahasa Mandarin.Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu metode wawancara, metodeobservasi, dan metode studi pustaka. Pada penerjemahan deskripsi entitas karya,penulis menggunakan metode penerjemahan komunikatif yang dapat menghasilkanterjemahan yang mudah diterima karena menyesuaikan tata bahasa sasaran, sehinggapengunjung berbahasa Mandarin lebih mudah memahami deskripsi entitas karyayang disajikan. Hasil dari penulisan artikel ini ini adalah terjemahan deskripsi entitaskarya berbahasa Mandarin, yang dapat memberikan kemudahan bagi wisatawanberbahasa Mandarin untuk memahami makna dalam deskripsi entitas karya yangdihadirkan di Diorama Dinas Perpustakaan dan Arsip Yogyakarta. Kata Kunci: deskripsi entitas karya, karya seni dan sejarah, metode penerjemahankomunikatif, penerjemahan.

Abstract

Cikakak Tourism Village is one of the Advanced Stage Tourism Villages in Wangon District, Banyumas Regency, which is a form of achievement in the realm of tourism. The combination of natural, cultural, and religious potentials in Cikakak village has the potential to be developed as a rural tourism area. To entertain and accompany tourists visiting Cikakak village, a Tour Guide is able to tell the details of tourist attractions and ensure tourists obtain educational value. Based on the results of observations in the field, it is known that the Saka Tunggal Tourism Awareness Group has not been able to be creative in assembling and creating information on village potential that is told narratively (storytelling) to be able to attract foreign tourists, especially Chinese tourists. From the results of the Mandarin for storytelling training, it can be concluded that from the aspect of knowledge, the trainees have a good understanding of how to use storytelling as a promotional medium for Cikakak's Tourism Village. However, from the aspect of skills in producing website content and video storytelling, further assistance is still needed to be able to produce Mandarin for Storytelling content that is more interactive and raises the values and attractions possessed by Ciadik Village as a cultural tourism destination.

Abstract

The background of this research is that in the learning process there is inaccuracy in translating conjunctions and prepositions in Mandarin into Indonesian. The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of translating conjunction and preposition word classes using a Mandarin-Indonesian word group dictionary. Respondents in this study were students of the Mandarin Language D3 study program at Jenderal Soedirman University. The research method used is descriptive qualitative to explain the accuracy of students' translation results in translating conjunction and preposition word classes. The results of this study are that the level of accuracy of respondents' translations increased after using the Mandarin-Indonesian word group dictionary. Therefore, the Mandarin-Indonesian word group dictionary is effectively used in translating Mandarin conjunctions and prepositions. Abstrak Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah pada proses pembelajaran terdapat ketidak keakuratan dalam menerjemahkan kata konjungsi dan kata depan dalam bahasa Mandarin ke dalam bahasa Indonesia. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efektifitas penerjemahan kelas kata konjungsi dan kata depan dengan menggunakan kamus kelompok kata bahasa Mandarin- Indonesia. Responden dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa Program studi D3 Bahasa Mandarin Universitas Jenderal Soedirman. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif untuk menjelaskan keakuratan hasil terjemahan mahasiswa dalam menerjemahkan kelas kata konjungsi dan kata depan. Hasil penelitian ini adalah Tingkat keakuratan terjemahkan responden meningkat setelah penggunaan kamus kelompok kata 虚词 Bahasa Mandarin- Bahasa Indonesia. Oleh karena itu, kamus kelompok kata 虚词 Bahasa Mandarin- Bahasa Indonesia efektif digunakan dalam menerjemahkan kata konjungsi dan preposisi bahbasa mandarin.
