The result of the redesign is one of the residents' houses as an example for other residents who have similar houses. The Community Service Team offered a solution by redesigning the less suitable residential building into a healthy and simple house using building materials provided by residents independently. The redesign uses a building reliability approach that consists of aspects of safety, health, comfort, and ease of movement. This activity uses several methods according to the activity stage, such as observation, physical measurements of buildings, interviews with partners, architectural design, presentation, and design implementation. The conclusion of the activity is that the result of the redesign has a good impact on partners, the benefits of the principle of mutual cooperation, making healthy homes need not be expensive. Suggestions for this activity are residents who build houses must always use a healthy home approach and always care about the health of their environment. Keywords: healthy house, redesign, elderly, building reliability

Abstract

Development in the built environment involves architects as planners. One of the architect's works is a high-rise building. High-rise buildings in Indonesia affect the social and cultural aspects of the community. Architectural works are present without forgetting environmental ethics. Anthropocentrism moves into ecosentrism which makes people aware that they cannot be separated from nature. The presence of buildings in the universe (macro cosmos) is the scope of modern science and the latest technology. The scientific method, with all its imperfections, can be used to improve social, political, and economic systems, and it continues to apply, whatever the improvement criteria that are applied. Indonesian architects must move toward ecocentric thinking with a localized value. Need awareness to cultivate modern science that can help humans. Processing modern science also maintains the universe for human interests in social, cultural values in addition to economic, technological and political values.

Abstract

Modernism has its origins in classical Greece. Almost all processes of modernity are anthropocentric, human-centered processes. Modernity has not stopped to this day, although there are post moderns. Humanism is undergoing a renewal from a mere natural human view of man, not just a natural being but also a supernatural, immanent creature. Humans are seen not only as faber mundi but more as imago dei; the image of God. Philosophy moves from theocentric to anthropocentric nature with value and history at each stage of its transformation. Anthropocentric has become a fundamental understanding of humans today. In fact, this universe will respond to all things humans do that are creative. There is no possibility or concern over data religion or dataism. The human element in this research is still needed. Research work is not in the form of nominal numbers, but more on a humanistic approach. Science is not arrogant, does not feel strong and is unable to walk without human assistance. Science can accept the universe as a partner in work.

Abstract

School building that has the function as a elementary school, also has the function as a temporary housing (hunian sementara/huntara). It has to have the requirements on buildings’ solidity against earthquake and also the requirements for classrooms so that the space can be used with safety and comfort. The building’s power in overcoming failures that happen on the wall has to be a requirement for durability against earthquake, among them is the power of overcoming ductility failure perpendicularly and shear failure. Efficiency of material usage and column positioning are the reasoning behind calculation of columns’ distance in the classroom. The requirements for the room include the visibility for the students towards the teacher and whiteboard and the teacher’s ability on being mobile inside the class. Those requirements are also the considerations taken into account for classroom area calculation. Huntara module unit (2x2,5)m2 is calculated to generate the minimum area for shelter in emergency situation but with safety and comfort. Huntara module unit is adapted by considering the area measurement of the classroom that has met the requirements for building solidity against the earthquare and comfortable usage of space by user. The size of a class is (7,5x5) m2 for 28 students and can be converted into 6 huntara module unit.

Abstract

Earthquake-resistant buildings are an absolute necessity for the people of Indonesia, because they are prone to the risk of earthquake disasters. Judging from the history of earthquakes in Indonesia, every year there will always be a lot of victims and quite large losses. Therefore, it is necessary to understand the concept of earthquake resistant buildings in the community as well as to building construction experts. One of the important buildings that must consider the concept of earthquake-resistant building resilience is the hospital, this is because the hospital is an important institution that is engaged in individual health services that provide inpatient, outpatient and emergency care. When a natural disaster occurs, the role of a hospital is very important to provide intensive care to victims in a timely and good quality manner to minimize deaths. The city of Yogyakarta, especially in Bantul, is one of the places where there was an earthquake which caused the buildings in Bantul to collapse and caused considerable losses, property, buildings and infrastructure. After approximately 14 years have passed since the earthquake occurred, Bantul Regency has slowly revived with its construction, the buildings in Bantul Regency are slowly starting to return to normal, one of which is the Hospital. The resilience concept of earthquake-resistant buildings can be used as a supporting tool to increase the resilience index of systems, such as health care facilities, and reduce the vulnerability and consequences of earthquake disasters.

Abstract

Flats for rent need to be designed so that residents move comfortably and can save themselves in times of disaster. This research was conducted with the aim of knowing the spaces needed by the occupants by taking into account the reliability of the building-safety and comfort. Some aspects of building reliability are motion comfort and safety. Data was collected by an online questionnaire, which was distributed to residents using non-random sampling. The collected text data was analyzed by content analysis. From the results of the analysis revealed that residents tend to be comfortable moving in rental residential units. Residents need a secondary space that is a shelf and work space. Storage space represents the meaning of storage of small items. Work, study and storage of equipment represent the meaning of workspace needs. Residents need some secondary space in a residential unit that has aspects of motion comfort and security during disaster evacuation. Motion comfort mainly represents a little furniture, has storage space, and doesn't interfere with activities like sitting and watching television. The number of residents felt safe moving when disaster evacuation in vertical housing was almost the same as the number of residents who felt the evacuation route was not ideal. Easy access is achieved, wide circulation room, near the emergency stairs is represented by the meaning of feeling safe moving during a disaster evacuation. There is no special emergency ladder, narrow circulation space, the condition of a damaged staircase at the time of disaster evacuation is represented by meaning not ideal. This study found a significant relationship between the reasons for motion comfort and the presence of space requirements. There is no significant relationship between disaster evacuation security and secondary space requirements.
