Abstract

A relationship between student and lecturer need communication, whether it is inside or outside a campus. This communication should be in politeness boundaries, although it is uttered in a semiformal situation. The emerge of social media as a result of a technology development affects the communication between student and lecturer. This research examines the speech act and politeness used by student to communicate with his lecturer through Whatsapp. This study aims to describe and analyze the politeness used by student when he communicates with his lecturer using Whatsapp and to describe and analyze the politeness deviation used by student to communicate with his lecturer using Whatsapp. The data source comes from Whatsapp chatting application. The data is the student’s utterance which is used to communicate with the lecturer through Whatsapp. That data is used to collect the information so that it can be analyzed. Technique of collecting data uses observation method, note-taking technique, and interview. Qualitative method is used to analyze the data. Based on the analyses, it is found that there are many of the student’s utterance used to communicate with the lecturer using Whatsapp is not fulfill the politeness value. In that utterance, many politeness deviation were found such as the use of slank, the out of context discussion, the way to deliver intention impolitely, and the inappropriate of using paralinguistic aspect.

Abstract

Penggunaan bahasa dalam mempersuasikan promosi perguruan tinggi sering menyimpang dari kesantuan berbahasa, terutama di perguruan tinggi swasta. Untuk mengetahui hal tersebut telah dilakukan penelitian dengan tujuan untuk mendeskripsi dan menjelaskan kesantunan serta penyimpangan prinsip kesantuan berbahasa sebagai stratregi untuk mempersuasikan promosi Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Ekonomi Pariwisata Indonesia (STIEPARI). Wujud data penelitian ini adalah pemakaian tuturan yang dilakukan tim promosi dalam berpromosi yang menyimpang dari kesantunan berbahasa. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan cara observasi, teknik rekam, dan wawancara. Analisis data dilakukan dengan metode kualitatif. Berdasarkan analisis hasil penelitian ditemukan bahwa tim promosi melakukan promosi melalui media auditif, visual, dan audio visual. Media auditif yang dipakai, yaitu promosi melalui siaran radio Idola, presentasi di beberapa SMA/SMK di kota/kabupaten di Jawa Tengah. Berdasarkan temuan hasil penelitian, baik promosi melalui radio, maupun pada saat presentasi langsung ditemukan beberapa skrip spot percakapan yang menyimpang dari kesantunan berbahasa. Penyimpangan bahasa, yaitu dengan menggunakan bahasa gaul/bahasa humor sengaja dilakukan untuk menarik minat sasaran. Bahasa humor yang dipakai untuk berpromosi tersebut, efektif untuk menjaring mahasiswa baru. Tim promosi mampu berkomunikasi dengan calon mahasiswa secara baik dengan strategi berbahasa yang sesuai dengan situasinya dan bahasa yang disukai oleh para remaja.

Abstract

Setiap orang memiliki media sosial pribadi dengan mudah mengunggah narasi, foto, maupun videomelalui akun media sosial masing-masing. Berlakunya sistem belajar daring pada masa pandemimembuat peserta didik kurang memiliki interaksi social sehingga mempengaruhi perkembangankarakter mereka. Permasalahan yang muncul kemudian adalah kurangnya kesantunan berbahasadalam berliterasi di media sosial. Hal ini dapat dilihat pada interaksi di media social banyak ditemukandiksi yang kurang tepat. Tujuan pengabdian ini adalah peningkatan kemampuan berliterasi di mediasocial bagi peserta didik Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan Perdana Semarang. Dengan memilikikesantunan bahasa dalam berliterasi, peserta didik dapat menggunakan media sosial dengan bijak.Metode diskusi dan sosialisasi digunakan dalam pengabdian ini. Hasil pengabdian adalahmeningkatnya pengetahuan dan kemampuan para peserta didik SMK Perdana Semarang untuk lebihsantun berliterasi di media sosial. Kata Kunci: kesantunan bahasa, literasi media sosial, SMK Perdana Semarang.

Abstract

MSMEs play a role in improving the welfare of the wider community, as well as improving the national economy. In the Indonesian economy, MSMEs are the business group with the largest number and have been proven to be able to withstand various kinds of economic crisis shocks. The development of MSMEs receives support from various parties, where the government and elements of society help develop and improve MSMEs so that people who own these businesses can improve their economy, and academics also contribute by providing or holding activities, counseling and training aimed at increasing success and improving the economy for business owners. One of the MSMEs in Semarang is engaged in milkfish processing. The owner, Mrs. Kurniawati, has a milkfish processing business with the brand "EnaXmen Boga Rasa." A home industry business located in Semarang. Currently, the obstacles faced by business owners are employees coming in and out and when they leave they create a similar business after they understand the process. This Community Service production will provide increased understanding of managing Human Resources, especially in providing motivation to employees by treating them as partners with the hope that employees can have loyalty in working without going in and out and of course as business owners can focus more on developing their business in the present and future. come

Abstract

Language is the communication tool which also has meanings. Language meanings can be taken from direct speech acts and indirect speech acts. Furthermore, those meanings can give people’s motivation. Famous quote is one of the ways to increase the motivation. Famous quotes can be from various languages. They consist of words, phrases and sentences which have influential and worthed messages and meanings which are useful to increase studying motivation. AMIK JTC Semarang uses famous quotes in the form of posters to influent the positive mindset and attitude of students in achieving the goals. The purposes of this study are to investigate and analyse whether famous quotes of world figures can improve the studying motivation of students or not and which famous quotes of world figures have strong, enough and weak influences that can improve the studying motivation of students based on the students’ perceptions in the form of converted numbers. The method used in this study is quantitative method. This study is based on the results of analysis by using Likert scales and counted and converted by using three box method and SPSS. There are 44 famous quotes of world figures in the form of posters at AMIK JTC Semarang. Most of 44 famous quotes get high perceptions from the students who have ever seen and known them. It means that most of the students recognize and agree that 44 famous quotes of world figures at AMIK JTC Semarang can give their studying motivations to reach their goals and success. However, it can be summarized that there are 8 famous quotes which have strong influence in improving the student’s studying motivation, 24 famous quotes with enough influence, and 12 famous quotes with low or weak influence in improving the studying motivation of students.
