Abstract

A sentence can be said to be a communication tool if it can convey an idea to the reader or listener. To achieve this goal, a sentence must be written effectively. Effective sentences are sentences that can clearly describe the purpose or idea to be conveyed to the reader or listener. Thus, the use of effective sentences is very helpful for readers or listeners so as not to misjudge the writing presented and the intention or idea is conveyed properly without re-reading or guessing the essence of a problem. The use of effective sentences is commonly found in argumentation essays. In news texts, there is a lot of ineffective use of sentences which results in the writer's ideas not being conveyed properly. From the brief description above, what will be the focus of the research is the use of effective sentences in the aspect of austerity in the news script of tribunNews.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the use of speech acts in learning activities. The object of study in this study were teachers and students, the data in this study were locutionary speech acts, illocutionary speech acts, and perlocutionary speech acts. This research method or technique uses a qualitative descriptive method. because this type of method is more appropriate for finding problems that require more in-depth study. From the results of this study, we can see that the speech acts found in class VII Indonesian SMP Nahdlatul Ulama are locutionary, illocutionary, and perlocutionary speech acts. The speech acts found were in the form of illocutionary orders, questions, and news. The illocutionary speech acts found are assertive, declarative, directive, and expressive speech acts. Meanwhile, the perlocutionary speech act found is influencing.

Abstract

Literary works, especially short stories, are products that are produced based on one's experiences and observations in life. This makes short stories very interesting to study from the perspective of various scientific disciplines, especially pragmatics. In this regard, this study aims to determine the forms of speech acts used by the characters in Danarto's Bengawan Solo short story. This research is a qualitative research using descriptive method using note-taking technique as a data collection technique and content analysis technique as an analysis technique. Based on the results of this study, 18 data of locutionary acts, 27 data of illocutionary acts, and 5 data of perlocutionary acts were found by the researcher. As a result, the findings that the researchers found totaled 50 findings in total. The findings include: 18 types of locutionary speech acts or as much as 36%, 27 types of illocutionary speech acts or as much as 54%, 5 types of perlocutionary speech acts or as much as 10%.

Abstract

The act of speech directive in Ika Natassa's novel "Antology Rasa" is discussed in this study. The goal of this research is twofold: (1) Describing the form of dialogue directives in Ika Natassa's novel Antology of Rasa; (2) Explaining the types of speech substances directives found in the novel Antology of Rasa. A pragmatic approach was used in this study. Pragmatics is a branch of psychology that studies the meaning of language. The researcher employs a descriptive qualitative method with note that read in this study. The data in this study are written data in the form of individual conversation data containing speech directives. Based on the results of the study, it can be determined that the form of the speech directive contained in the novel is a form of governing, asking, advocating, asking.

Abstract

This study aims to identify, classify imperative forms and analyze imperative sentence functions. This research is a qualitative research. This study uses instruments in the form of human instruments, researchers with all their knowledge regarding the use of Indonesian orally which includes pragmatics in the form of speech. The data source for this research is a film called Imperfect. The results of the study show that: (1.) the imperfect film uses six kinds of imperative sentences. Imperative imperative sentences are the most used in imperfect films, which consist of 21 imperative sentences, 24 imperative sentences of request, 20 imperative sentences of invitation, 3 imperative sentences of hope or request, 8 imperative sentences of prohibition, and 2 imperative sentences of omission.

Short stories usually tell about pictures of the reality of human life and the environment around it. This research is focused on the form and meaning of imperative sentences in a collection of short stories by Faisal Oddang and Inna's friend. The aim of this research is to find out the form and meaning of imperative sentences in a collection of short stories by Faisal Oddang and Inna's best friend. This research uses qualitative descriptive data analysis techniques. . Data collection was carried out using the method of observing through note-taking techniques. From the results of the research, it shows that there is a conclusion in a collection of short stories by Faisal Oddang and Inna's friend, which shows that imperative sentences are used in the short stories. The form of imperative sentences consists of subtle imperative sentences, imperative sentences of requests or requests, imperative sentences of solicitation or hope, imperative sentences of prohibition, and imperative sentences of omission

Abstract

The objective of this study is to describe directive speech acts in Jazuli Imam novel Sepasang Yang Melawan. The method used in this research is descriptive method with a qualitative. Data collection techniques using observation and recording. The data in this study are words, phrases, and sentences that contain directive speech acts in Jazuli Imam novel Sepasang Yang Melawan. The data source in this research is Jazuli Imam novel Sepayang Yang Melawan. The technique of checking the validity of the data uses credibility test. Data analysis techniques using content analysis techniques. The results of the study were found the existence of directive speech acts includes elements of the words forcing, inviting, asking, ordering, charging, urging, begging, suggesting, ordering, ordering and opposing.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out the form of locutionary speech acts of locutionary in the film "Ordinary Male Love" (2016)". The researcher used a qualitative descriptive research type in this study. The dialogues of the characters in the film "Ordinary Male Love" (2016)" as a data source in this research. The film used in this study is the film Cinta Men Ordinary which is closely related to the culture and habits of society in Indonesia. In collecting data, the researchers used the technique of free-involved viewing and notes in this study as instruments in this study, then validated by expert judgment or other lecturers. The method used to analyze or as an analytical knife in this study uses pragmatic methods. Based on the results of data analysis found by researchers, it can be concluded into two. Abstract

This study aims to describe the forms of expressive illocutionary speech acts found in tweets from Twitter accounts. This study contains expressive illocutionary utterances which are analyzed by researchers based on the data that has been collected. The data is sourced from a Twitter account which is seen based on the tweets of Twitter users. The method in this study is a qualitative descriptive research in the form of written sentences. Data collection techniques in this study used observing, recording, and documentation. Listening and note-taking techniques are carried out by researchers by sorting and selecting data to be analyzed. While documentation was included by the researchers in the form of screenshots of tweets from Twitter account users. Data analysis techniques are performed by reducing data, presenting data, interpreting data, and drawing conclusions. The analysis that is carried out always involves a literature study process in order to strengthen evidence related to data that has been collected theoretically, so as to produce valid and reliable conclusions. In the results of this study, 24 data were found which were classified into expressive illocutionary speech acts. The 24 data describe the expression of the speaker's psychological attitude towards the situation implied in the illocutionary which consists of; 1) say thank you; 2) congratulate; 3) forgive; 4) censure; 5) praise; and 6) express condolences. This research can be useful in the learning process by adding insight and knowledge for educators and students regarding the study of pragmatics in speech acts and the relationship between speakers and interlocutors in expressive illocutionary speech.
